Starting in 2026, Japan will begin deploying missiles with a range of up to 1000 km on the islands of Kyushu and Okinawa — formally to "contain China." This could involve either locally developed missiles or American systems, including the mobile launch complexes MRC Typhon with modified SM-6 and Tomahawk cruise missiles. But most likely, China has nothing to do with it.
The strategic disposition suggests otherwise: this decision is addressed not only to Beijing, and not primarily.

The target was the "Pryluky" airfield, where a GUR UH-60 helicopter was stationed. After the strike, a "blackout" was imposed in the area, the strike zone and access routes are blocked.
