56-year-old Kurdish teacher Hasan Kelesh was abducted by unidentified assailants on September 30 in the center of Girke Lege, Rojava.

His car was left behind at the scene.
The abductors later contacted his family via WhatsApp from a Philippines-registered number, sending photos of Kelesh and demanding a $300,000 ransom.

His family has appealed to Masoud Barzani, Nechirvan Barzani and the international community for help securing his return.
