A new emoji has been added to the Telegram Beta for Android v12.3.1 (6407). It’s used somewhere in the interface and is called "large_forge.png". It strongly looks like it’s meant for the «Gift Crafting» feature — but we’ll see 👀

Clarification: instead of the «Settings» tab in the bottom navigation bar, you can bring back the «Calls» tab.
To do this, go to Contacts → Recent calls → Show Calls Tab.
To remove the «Calls» tab and restore the default layout, open Calls → tap the three dots → Hide Call Tab.

New commit called «Redesign WIP» was added to Telegram’s official code on GitHub. The Nekogram client has already implemented it in a test APK. Here’s what we can expect in future Telegram updates:
— The top bar with pinned messages and music is now a separate "island" with added transparency.
— On the main screen, the panel that shows the music player and Telegram service messages is also now a separate island, with added transparency.
— The bottom navigation bar has been redesigned. It now goes: Chats, Contacts, Settings, and Profile. The «Calls» tab has been removed and moved into the Contacts tab as «Recent calls».

Based on everything happening on the test server this is likely «Gift Crafting».
From what we’re seeing, they take four different «Cake» NFT gifts, each with different rarity percentages for the model, symbol, and backdrop. If among those four there’s a gift with a low rarity percentage for the symbol, that symbol carries over to the crafted gift. If there’s a gift with a low rarity percentage for the backdrop, that backdrop carries over as well. What happens to the model is still unclear.
The gifts used for crafting will only be accessible via direct links, won’t have an «Owner» field, and you’ll likely be the only one who can see them in profile — though that’s not confirmed.
I'm watching this closely. These conclusions are preliminary, and we’re waiting for updates.

In the new Telegram Beta for Android v12.3.1 (6384), the new design has been further refined.
— The connection, waiting for network, and updating status now appears under the «Telegram» logo.
— The theme switch button (light ↔ dark) has been moved into the three-dot menu on the main screen (previously it was shown next to it).
— The bottom navigation bar (Contacts, Calls, Chats, Profile) has been improved, with more prominent text.
— A new «Add Story» button has been added above the «New Chat» button (bottom right, next to the navigation bar).
There are also minor tweaks, including more rounded buttons, the profile the button has been changed from «Add Story» to «Edit Info», the search bar hiding while scrolling chats, and other small fixes.

In the new Telegram update for Android v12.3.0, the new design hasn’t been added yet. It’s not fully ready and still has some issues, so expect it in upcoming updates.

The Settings design has been updated.
The light theme now looks better overall.

Some changes to «Gift Crafting» on the test server. The newly crafted gift now takes one of the gift numbers from the items you used for crafting. You can also craft using anywhere from 2 (3?) to 4 gifts.
Keep in mind this is the test server, and functionality changes frequently.

And don’t forget — this is still a test.

Strange things are happening with the «Cake» gifts on the test server.
A second emoji pack with models has appeared (so the gifts now have two model packs), and these models show 0% rarity (these new models also don’t show up when you tap on the gift rarity percentage). The «Owner» field is also gone — Cake gifts now belong to no one. On the internal NFT resale market, their price has dropped to 0 Stars.
Some developers are also buying up gifts with the same backdrop color.
I’m not going to guess what this is about, and I don’t recommend you do either. We’ll see what it leads to later!!!

🎲 Emoji Stake by Telegram.
The stake is placed only when you tap the dice in a chat/group.
The minimum stake is 0.1 TON, and the maximum is 50 TON. You can also choose from the suggested stake options.
After tapping «Save and Roll», the stake is saved and the dice is rolled.

2025 comes to an end, we’ve reached 11.5K subscribers — and I’m incredibly grateful to every single one of you for being here 😉
This channel started on January 19, 2025 as a public notebook, where I was tracking NFT-related changes on the test server and sharing a few updates. Today, it continues as my personal blog, where I post new updates, changes, and news about Telegram. I run this channel entirely on my own — there’s no team behind it, just me.

🤖 Some changes in the Telegram Bot API related to gifts.
— New fields have been added:
• has_colors — whether the gift supports backdrop colors.(the last two fields were added earlier, but they weren’t available in the Bot API).
• unique_gift_variant_count — how many unique variants the gift has (for example, up to 2,400 completely different combinations of backdrops, models, and symbols).
• personal_remaining_count — how many gifts a user is allowed to purchase.
• personal_total_count — the total number of gifts available for purchase for that user.

The developer cleared everyone so they didn't take up slots.

🎲 Emoji Stake. In the new Telegram Beta for Android (v12.3.0), a built-in mini-game has appeared where users place a bet and instantly «roll» a dice.
One roll equals one outcome — either you win or you lose your stake.
— The result is determined by Telegram itself
— The streak resets after a few rolls or when the stake amount changes
— After each round, a summary and returns are shown
Perhaps you can place a bet at TON or Stars.
The feature is being tested in a limited rollout and works directly inside Telegram’s interface.
