LPT: By following the seam with your fingers, you can use the natural points in the fabric to fold a fitted sheet!

I tried to explain in the title as well as I could, but I’ll elaborate here.

This is easiest with two people, but you can do it solo if you lay the sheet flat:

- Inspect the inside of grippy edges of the sheet.

- From there, use your pointer finger and follow the seam. Let it sort of drape over your finger until you find a point!

*The pointy bit is the important part.*

If you’re looking at a normal sheet, that’s the bit you’d naturally grab anyway.

***

Now, grab both pointy bits on each side and match them, folding ‘hot dog’ style.

Pull the sheet taut and tuck the fitted bits inside, so all you have is a nice rectangle.

(Doing this with a partner just makes it a little easier and helps prevent wrinkles.)

Now, take your folded sheet and just match your corners to your partner’s corners.

And…done! You can fold it to your desired size now, and it should look just like a regular sheet.

LPT: Suspect hearing loss in one ear? Use a single earbud and compare volume comfort between ears .

I recently noticed that I was hearing music more clearly from one ear than the other, so I tried a little experiment. I took a single earbud, played music at a comfortable volume in my left ear, and noted the volume percentage on my phone , around 40%.

Then I switched the earbud to my right ear and found I had to raise it up to 80% to hear it just as clearly.

That’s when I realized there might be some hearing loss in my right ear . It’s obviously not a medical diagnosis, but just gave me an estimate of 50% loss (assuming one ear is fine )

LPT Take Pictures of Receipts for Future Warranty Claims

If it is an appliance, large purchase, or something you would rather put in a warranty claim before buying a new one, just snap a quick picture of the receipt right after purchasing! With the search features picture galleries on your phone, it is super easy to find.

Exhibit A: My vacuum cleaner had the clip on its canister break and now dumps its contents on the floor half the time I pick it up. With a quick search on Google Photos, I found the receipt from 3 years ago and filed a warranty claim. The new canister is soon to be on its way. Thats $30-40 saved purchasing a new canister or $150 saved on purchasing a new vacuum!

LPT Essential Stalker Safety Advice from an Internet Stranger

Truly valuable and well-said comment from u/SafetyLeft6178 on u/AdAdorable7651's r/amIoverreacting post. This advice is essential, I believe many can gain awareness from.

Here’s some of u/SafetyLeft6178 advice to ensure your safety and for your own piece of mind:

• Write down everything you remember about your stalker, every piece of information about them, name, birth date, other personal details such as place of birth, where they lives, what they do for a living, education, things they told you about their family, what they looks like, hair color, eye color, rough height, weight, build, glasses, every tiny bit if informarion you can think of, however unimportant you think it might be.

• Then write down the dates and times they came to visit to the best of your ability, bonus points if you know their exact flight numbers, departure and arrival airports (if international)

• Then write down the dates you met up, where, what times, who you were with, who has seen you together

• Now write down all the bad stuff, the stalking, where did they show up, when, why (according to them), the stated purpose, all the abuse, what they said, what you said, extra focus on threats from them and you telling them no or expressing fears and concerns

• Screenshot all messages you can find between the two, specifically mark the ones that depict abuse or other concerning things and you telling them no or that you don’t want them near you or wherever they was

• Collect documentation of you moving and changing numbers, as much as you can find, bonus points if anything even so much hints at you doing it because you felt scared

• Now collect screenshots of you telling other people about their stalking and your fears if you have any

• Write down the names of people who know about or witnessed the stalking and/or saw how it affected you and/or know or witnessed you going out of your way to get away from them by changing numbers and moving

• Write down the names, and collect any evidence like the screenshots you’ve posted here, of them trying to get in contact within your circle in an effort to get information on you

• Collect all of that either in paper or in a folder on your computer, put it in a zip-file you can easily email or on a USB drive

• Once you’ve done all that, find your nearest KMar location and call the number to make an appointment to file a police report

• It’s important to do this with them and not your regular police to maximize the chances they will be turned around when they try to fly in, because they’re the ones making the decision and this helps to increase the chances it’ll pop-up on their screen when making that decision, besides, it’s within their purview because they are trying to cross the border to commit crimes, making it their business, emphasize they only flew in to harrass and stalk you if you need to

• Don’t worry about feeling silly about it or that it’s not serious enough or anything and don’t even dare to feel ashamed or blame yourself in any way, bring what you’ve collected, tell them the story from A to Z and let them decide

• Getting a restraining order there is a bit less straightforward than here in the US, but it’s definitely doable and there are free or near free government funded options to get it done, there’s at least a government funded organisation with locations all over that can give you tailored advice entitely for free on if it’s possible and how to get it done (varies by location)

Whatever the case, you’re not overreacting, your safety is paramount, people suck, be safe, you’ve got this, don’t doubt yourself, this too shall pass and will become a distant memory, you’re strong, take care.

LPT Keep a small trash bag in your car even if you're not messy

I started keeping a small bag or even just an old grocery sack in my car to toss receipts, snack wrappers, and random stuff. It’s weird how quickly things pile up when you’re on the go.

Now I just grab it when I’m pumping gas or getting home and throw it out. Makes a huge difference, especially if you’re someone who basically lives in their car between errands

LPT - call old friends on their birthday

Even though you haven't spoken in a while it's a great pretext to call someone and wish/sing them haooy birthday. It always appreciated and make people happy, and usually other people don't have as many close friends as one would think. LPT: Do your furniture shopping near the end of the month

This likely applies to all larger commission based purchases but do your large buys near the end of the month.

Why? Commission based jobs generally have bonuses and incentives for their staff to hit specific sales targets for the month. What this means is, near the end of the month you'll have sales staff trying a little harder to close deals and get in those last minute sales. What this means for you is a sales person more willing to negotiate a better deal on your purchase.

This is coming from personal experience as I worked in furniture sales for 6 years (two different stores) and tried it out a couple times myself.

LPT: My memory and overall control over my mind improved dramatically after learning this

It is generally common knowledge, but the way it was explained in this book I read made it click for me as to the possibilities of the information.

I’m sure most of you are aware of Pavlov’s dog experiments, whereby association of a sound of a bell with the dog being in the presence of food creates a connection in the dogs mind, where later without the presence food, just the ringing of the bell causes salivation.

It’s a cool experiment and shows how the mind can create and work off these associations. However the possibilities of this are almost endless.

A more well known use is using this association for memory, whereby associating one word in a list of words with the next allows for the recall of this list to be effortless. For example, if we have a short list of Apple, dirt, plastic, for a very basic example. We can associate the Apple with the dirt by imagining an Apple covered in dirt as we eat it. And as we bite into the Apple we find out it’s plastic, feeling the plastic texture in our mouth. Now that those words have been associated in this story, they will be forever easier to remember. Some call techniques like these mnemonics.

For physiological associations, some use hand signals to associate with feelings of power. For example when in a moment of power, they use the hand gesture of the hands together and index fingers pointed forwards, and when later they want to induce a feeling of power, they can do this hand gesture as it is already associated with that feeling.

Another is breathing techniques, calm and slow breathing induces a relaxed feeling, as that is what is already associated with it. Fast and sharp breathing causes panic, as it is associated. However we can then train ourselves by doing fast and sharp breathing (hyperventilating) whilst using mindfulness to remain present and calm. After training, we associate this breathing with being able to remain calm; and so in stressful situations we can remain calm. This is one of the ways the Wim Hof method works.

People also use association for exams, eating a certain flavour sweet when studying a certain topic, then having that sweet in the exam. This is similar to how perfumes and cologne is so strongly associated with periods of time in our lives when we used that certain cologne, and memories flood back when we smell it again. Or music can flood back memories so strongly as well.

The possibilities are limitless, I’m sure there are many other uses of this that I haven’t been able to think up.

I’ll link the book I read this in if anyone’s interested. Please comment more ways this can be used if you have any ideas.

LPT: Solving small problems for other people is one of the fastest ways to build useful skills and find hidden opportunities

Here’s something I started doing recently that’s helped me learn faster, improve my thinking, and even find opportunities:

**Take other people’s small, annoying problems and try to solve them — fast.**

You don’t need to be an expert. Just pick a tiny problem someone has (something they’d pay $2 to fix), and focus on solving it completely, even if it’s messy.

What I’ve noticed:

* It builds real, transferable skills
* You start to spot patterns and repeated pain points
* You develop creative thinking under pressure
* People are actually grateful — even for tiny solutions
* Sometimes it leads to bigger opportunities or ideas

Now I do 1–2 “problem-solving sessions” per day, like a mini challenge. It’s helped me grow faster than reading books or courses — because it’s real and practical.

Try it for a week: ask a friend what they’re stuck with and try to fix it fully.
You’ll be surprised how effective it is.

LPT: Get subscriptions like Spotify Premium or YouTube Premium for $1 a month using VPNS/proxies

A lot of apps like YouTube Premium, Spotify, Netflix, etc. have regional pricing, meaning they charge different rates depending on your country. For example, YouTube Premium is $14/month in the US but just \~$1.70/month in Pakistan.

Heres how to use this to your advantage:

1. Use a VPN or proxy to connect to a lower-cost country like Pakistan, Egypt, or Nigeria
2. Open a private/incognito window in Firefox (this helps avoid browser fingerprint issues).
3. Go to YouTube and head to the Premium payment page, you should now see the regional price (e.g., 480 PKR if you're on a Pakistani IP).
4. Proceed to checkout and pay for the youtube premium with the new regional price. Now you'll only have to pay $1.70 per month instead of $14 per month.

This method can be used with any app that has regional pricing such as disney plus, apple music, netflix, etc.

LPT: If someone is getting you a gift, don’t guess at what it is.

Guessing at what someone’s gift is before they give it to you is bad or at least unhelpful in most situations. If you guess wrong, then they may feel that they got you something you didn’t want / not the thing you really wanted. If you guess correctly, then they may feel the surprise of their gift is ruined.

Same goes for when you suspect someone may or may not be getting you a gift at all. If you’re wrong, they may feel that they should’ve gotten you something / you seem greedy. If you’re right, surprise is ruined.

As a person who has given and received stuff (impressive, I know), giving is always better when doing so makes you feel clever and appreciated while letting the person you’re giving the gift know that you care.

If you’re job hunting you will probably end up using one of those ATS resume builder a lot of them look legitimate but:

1)They let you create your CV and then once you click that download button they ask you to pay like 10-20 bucks to get a pdf of your resume

2)Some of them automates you in a subscription after free trial and that can be tricky to cancel

3)If your email/sms is being spammed with promotions you didn’t sign up for, it’s them

4)their template often looks flashy but break into ATS systems

better alternatives:

1)Use google doc or microsoft word template as they are free and simple to use, canva also has good design and you can download the pdf for free.

2)Tools like Prosple and ApplyOnion focus more on application even a clean plain resume can work better for ATS

Always double-check terms of service and read reviews before entering your personal info.

LPT: Use colored thread to mark the tops of sheets, or to match socks

It can be hard to tell which is the top and which is the side of queen or king-size sheets, so you can sew a tight loop of colored thread into the hem at the top and bottom. Leave the loose ends untrimmed so they're easier to see.

I've done that with socks too. For some reason I bought some some socks that were identical to some I already have, but just a little bit shorter. So I just sewed a little knot of white thread into the tops of the short ones. Makes matching them in the laundry much easier.

LPT: If you're going to enlist in the armed forces, get a job first and go on LOA.

I used to work at Home Depot, and we would occasionally have employees go on an extended Leave Of Absence for military service. Home Depot will let you stay on LOA for as long as you serve, you just need to notify them whenever you extend your contract. While you're on LOA you get a percentage of store bonuses, and you accumulate pay raises each year.

We once had an employee return from 20 years in the army. He had only been working there for 6 months when he enlisted, when he got back he was the second highest paid hourly associate, and had 5 weeks of vacation. He played it like a G, he used his 5 weeks of vacation almost immediately. Then a month or two later when he hit his work anniversary (vacation time resets), he quit and got paid out for another 5 weeks of vacation.

LPT: If you have to give someone embarrassing advice, give them a get out

A typical example, a friend of mine was a lovely guy but his personal hygiene was patchy. You could see the build up of yellow gunk all over his teeth. After teenage me spending ages wondering how to point out we could all see it, I ended up saying "I think you missed a bit when you brushed your teeth this morning". We both knew he hadn't brushed this morning, but it gave him the element of hope that I thought it was a one off. Hopefully it spared his blushes, and he picked up the slack. I've tried to use this whenever I've been in the situation where I've had to say something like this (and I don't just randomly go around giving people both barrels of life advice) but if you can spend two minutes thinking about wording something in a way that means it's obvious you've noticed but have put it down as a one off, it will really help.

One other example was when a friend had leaked blood through her jeans. Quietly saying she had sat in something was maybe slightly less upsetting for her, and she was able to go sort it.

I've always been quite socially clumsy, and maybe this post isn't helping dissuade you from that opinion, but just taking two seconds to carefully word something may spare someone's blushes. Just don't go firing your opinion into people unwanted left right and centre, this isn't what this is about!

LPT: Connect your values, goals, and skills. It sounds simple but it will make your decisions way easier

Most people set goals and try to build habits without a clear sense of why. That makes it really easy to burn out or lose focus.

A tip that helped me massively: think in terms of three layers

* Your values are what matter most to you
* Your goals are how you try to get more of those values
* Your skills are what you can improve to hit those goals

When you link those together, it gets way easier to decide what to work on, what to ignore, and what to stop doing.

I made a free tool to map this out and it helped me simplify a lot of life decisions. I’ll share it in the comments if anyone’s curious.

LPT : if u saving nice clothes

A lot of us have that one outfit or special piece of clothing that we keep tucked away in the back of the closet saving it for “the right day,” “the perfect occasion,” or for when we feel like we’ve finally earned it. But the truth is, when we do that, we’re often sending ourselves a quiet message: that our current self isn’t worthy of feeling good right now.

That mindset can be rooted in low self-esteem. It’s like we’re waiting to become a better, more successful, more “put-together” version of ourselves before we allow ourselves to feel confident or celebrated. But here’s the thing: you don’t become that version of yourself by waiting you become it by showing up as if you’re already there.

Wearing that outfit now the one that makes you feel powerful, elegant, or like your best self can shift the way you see yourself. It tells your brain: “I am already worthy. I deserve to feel good right now, not just someday.”

If you’re waiting to wear it for a big event like a promotion or milestone, consider this: dressing the part today might help you get there faster. Confidence creates momentum. When you treat yourself like someone who matters, who is worthy of attention and respect, others begin to reflect that belief back to you.

So stop saving the “best” for later. You are the occasion

LPT when traveling somewhere with different currency, always decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) for ATMs & credit cards

Have you ever been abroad, and when you go to pay you select "pay in home currency" and the amount seems a higher than what you converted on your phone moments before?

This is a method for payment processors to choose their own conversion rates - DCC - which is often 5-10%, and it's somehow legal in most of the world. Always choose to pay in local currency when given a choice. This holds for credit card transactions and even more so for ATMs.

This behavior is also NOT limited to in-person purchases - I thought of it again and wanted to share because today I (USA) bought something from a seller (UK) on PayPal and PayPal defaulted to a home-currency conversion rate that would have inflated my purchase from a total cost of roughly $136 to $144.

This is another way payment companies try take advantage of you while adding zero value, and it's incredibly profitable for them.
