kallax insert vihals nightstand
I put half of the 2 drawer kallax insert into a vihals nightstand to make a cheap nightstand with a drawer with actual drawer sliders. made two of them
the vihals is 33.5cm wide internally so it works
only issue is it looks like absolute shit, don't bother

Gel stain on tonstad?
Could I use a gel stain like this on Tonstad in dark oak to get the grain darker? Perfect size/shape for my project but I dont like the color, want something closer to a dark walnut.

Old Gerton top with the new Mittzon standing desk underframe?
Does anyone know if these parts are compatible? I have a Gerton with the telescopic legs, and I want to swap to the Mittzon standing desk underframe.
Or would I be better off just getting a native Mittzon top? Even though they are just MDF and veneers.

Can I hire someone to do an Ikea hack for me in Boston
How much would it cost to do a hack like this and have someone assemble and repaint it for me? Where would I go about finding someone in Boston to do this for me? I feel like asking a carpenter would be insulting to the carpenter.

Cost of units is $1570, would also want the mdf board across the top of the cabinets, the cornice top, and the extra shelf, wondering if the assembly, extra wood, and painting etc could reasonably be done for under 3K total?
I know I could do it myself, but I really dont want to, and buying a prefab piece of this size is 6-8K minimum. Talk me into this or out of this?

Drilling new holes for billy book case shelving?
Hello! I'm building a custom entertainment unit for a very limited/specific space I have and needed book shelves. I had a standard billy book case there, but picked up to shorter ones so I can mount a tv above. The issue is that both bookshelves together are about 4 inches over (length wise) than the space I have so I'll have to cut the shelves + the top/bottom and will need new holes on the actual shelves to place them on the holders.
I'm just curious if anyone has any experience making these holes? I just want to make sure the shelves are level when I put them on.
