Hemnes wall mount bookshelf unit

So we just bought a new house and I have some Hemnes. I’d like to wall mount the desk and the bookshelf. Maybe just the bookshelf. Has anybody seen this or done this before? Trying to avoid stuff on the floor.

Cabinet pulls for Billy/Oxberg combo?

Considering replacing the cabinet knobs with some antique-looking bronze knobs with backplates, wondering if that'll look too visually "heavy" or off-putting considering the pretty modern look of the billy. Any thoughts/suggestions here on what kind of cabinet knobs to replace them with

Building a wardrobe using PAX - need a narrow cabinet option

Hej!

There is a 51-inch wide space in our house where we want to build a PAX wardrobe. While we can use a 29-inch and 19-inch wide combo, we really wanted the 39-inch wide PAX
If we use the 39-inch PAX, do we have any options for the remaining 12-inches of space? Is there a narrow tall cabinet that we can squeeze in there?

My new markus seat

I just bought a markus chair like 3 week ago. It was perfect for two weeks, but in the last week I'm hearing a metal click sound when the tilt mechanism is open and I'm leaning all the way back. I tried to change the pressure using the "egg" beneath the chair but it won't solve it. It always happens once after I seat on it and it won't happen again until I'll get up, seat down, and recline again. Is that common or something?

Custom kitchen trash drawer

I'm building a new house, and to save some money I am installing an IKEA Sektion kitchen myself. Originaly, I was going to have a 24IN trash cabinet with the electric opener. And to make sure it worked, I went ahead and built it. But I wasn't super happy with IKEA's solution for mounting a door on a drawer in concert with the electric opener. It ends up pretty floppy, and that translates into the opener not being as reliable as it should be. And then my kitchen layout changed and I needed to go from a 24IN cabinet to an 18IN one. So I took the opportunity to fix both problems at the same time - I built my own drawer from scratch. I bought a couple of undermount Blum drawer slides and built a drawer box out of plywood, complete with a brace for the door front. Also, since the island is going to use Nickebo black fronts, I painted the inside of the cabinet frames dark gray. Here are a few pictures:

Operation with the opener is now absolutely rock solid - just a light touch anywhere on the door and it kicks open every time. The paint is Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane, the upper bit is stained with Danish Oil, and the inside is waterproof deck stain. The top does come off with a few screws if the inside ever needs to be really cleaned. The front is cut down to 25IN with the cut edge edgebanded in black. There is a 5IN drawer above it.

One note on the Utrusta electric opener that IKEA doesn't have in it's instructions - you can remove the power cord. Open the big lever on it, then the chrome lever pops the mechanism off the base. You can then pull the cord out. You can also buy longer cords and joiners for those cords from Blum if you need to reach an outlet more than the short length that IKEA includes, and of course you can shorten it too.

Don't mind my bare feet! :-\)

How stable would cutting out these parts be? I hope to put my TV in the red rectangle and put board games all round, but I wonder how sturdy it would be and if I need to look at other options before buying that 5x5 KALLAX. If it would fall apart, can it be stabilised in some other way or not?

Is there a way to baby proof a trofast shelf with bins?

We set one up with dog stuff - big bin for dog food, smaller for treats, meds, poop bags, leashes, etc… and now we have a crawling baby. Maybe something that could just block off arch of the 3 sections at a time? Or I guess we could make some plywood doors?

Bar and kitchecabinet with a foldable worktop or not?

hi

I have a 100 - 110 cm long and 70 cm wide space where I want to build a kitchen cabinet plus bar area, also to seat two people. The worktop may or may not be extensible with a foldable arrangement. Along side this area, I have around 120 cm space where I am planning to put a havsta/besta/billy bookshelf plus vitrine combination.. Couple of questions here

1. Buy 80 * 60 metod cabinet, with a worktop of same measurement. Attach foldable worktop on two sides with an amazon based foldable bracket thingy.
2. Do not want to attach this on floor because floor is expensive wooden. Plus rented. What are other stability options? To avoid a wobble top, not planning to attach maximara drawers on top, although in need of more storage.
3. Other option is to buy 80 * 37 metod cabinet and the worktop as 110 * 70 for the seating space. No folding brackets, but the worktop should stand on its own on the cabinet I hope
4. Also not sure about the vitrine alongside and will it be hard to open/close the doors. Planning to get only sliding doors but design wise is it a good idea? Should I leave some space and only get a 90 cm vitrine so that there is some space where the person is sitting.
5. Complete newbie. Will hire a handy man but need to shop and conceptualize on my own.
6. Any help/any suggestions highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

HÖGADAL door

Does anyone have the HÖGADAL door? I am wondering how the woven screen is installed in the frame. I want to remove it and replace with glass. IKEA no longer sells the 38-1/4" tall doors for Billy bookcases with glass panels. (Some of their choices puzzle me.)
