Havsta Storage Combination -- excluding bottom shelf from build
I'm thinking about buying this Havsta storage combination for my home office. The primary goal is to eliminate my filing cabinet, which has a printer sitting on top of it. The problem I see with this combination is that the bottom shelf of the bookcase makes it impossible to set anything larger than 13 inches deep on top of the cabinet because there isn't a continuous flat surface.
Considering two different solutions, would love this group's thoughts:
1) Building the bookcase without the bottom shelf so that the top of the cabinet is fully useable. Pro: looks best and I can put a piece of 1x to fill the small gap at the back of the shelf under the vertical brace. Con: unclear whether it'll affect the sturdiness of the bookcase.
2) adding another piece of wood that goes from the front edge of the bookshelf to the front edge of the cabinet, creating a flat surface. Pro: likely the safest solution. Con: looks ugly.
Anyone have experience with this hack, or is there a similar Ikea offering that you'd recommend instead that doesn't have this problem?
Thanks!

Weight Bearing Product Suggestions
Hi!
So I have a 65” Sky Glass Gen 1 which weights 35kg with the stand.
A lot of the products don’t have weight bearing information so I’m wondering if anyone knows what products (if any) can safely support that weight?
I have young children so safety is top priority.
Thank you! ☺️

interior depth of ikea ivar cabinet (30cm)
If anyone can do me a BIG favor, please measure the inside of your 30cm deep ivar cabinet? I know 30 cm is the outside depth, but I need the inside depth to make sure it will fit the folders I plan to store. I can't find this info anywhere online and we don't live near an ikea! Thanks loads.

New mods!
hey team! Years ago I was looking for a way to make the poang chair more ergonomic (impossible) and found this sub. It had no mods, 700 subscribers, and a shitload of sex-spam (which was very common at the time.) I adopted the sub with the intention of cleaning it up, setting up automoderator, then leaving... but I never did. 350k subs later, I just dont have time to do more with the sub beyond the basics.
The mods here have always been great and, for the most part, everybody is super nice.
Thanks for making an easy sub!

Slat Wall Panelling as Pax Wardrobe Door?
Has anyone tried to make a Pax Wardrobe door out of the Slat Wall Panelling?
Thinking attaching the paneling direct to a Pax door would be too heavy so trying to see other ideas like maybe building a light door frame to hinge on and attach the paneling to it ?

Hey,
I need help with the design of our Pax. We do plan to store our towels and additional bedding (winter blankets, bed spread) in there.
The 2 on each outside are 75cm, the middle is 100cm. All are 236cm high. I am not sure if there is enough space for dressed or jackets (I am 157cm). Is the shoe rack good or would you recommend some kind of other shoe storage? I am planning some kind of wardrobe in the hallway next to the entrance. Probably 4 pairs of shoes,
So far I had an old Malm Wardrobe, 100cm. There I had this much space used:
3/4 drawer: Sportclothes, Joggers, Sleeping clothes
3/4 drawer: Handbags, Scarfs, Heads
3/4 drawer: Jeans, Shorts, Skirts
1 drawer: underwear and necklaces and so on
3/4 rack: shirt, sweaters, blouses
3/4 rack: dresses, jackets, cardigans
Shoes I had in the bottom in boxes, about 3 drawers high.
My boyfriend honestly does not have much. 4 pairs of shoes, 1 rack of shirts and jackets, in addition to that maybe 4 suits, 2 drawers for everything else.
Like I said I wonder about the shoes.
The Hanging space for dresses, jackets, suits.
Mirror doors in the middle? Would be good for checking the fit, but the bed is right on the opposite side.
Do you think it is too much space? I think the top spaces are useful for bedding, towels, sheets. If we have space left I was thinking about storing the foldable clothes horse in there, when it is not in use (any other ideas for that). Obviously only when we use the mirror doors.

Advice Requested Buildin Ikea Pax
I am going to build in the Ikea cabinet on the photo from floor to ceiling. Finishing with MDF skirting boards, which run parallel to the doors. The left side of the cabinet will be set against a wall. The right side of the cabinet = visible side where the curtain runs against.
My questions in order to prepare the frame upcoming weekend:
1. What width do you recommend for the finishing skirting board on the left (wall-cabinet)?
2. What heights would you choose for the skirting board between floor-cabinet and cabinet-ceiling?
On the drawing I now have 7 (height of the room skirting board) + 9 cm floor and 9 cm ceiling.
