✅ defective:
    ناقص / معیوب / خراب 

به چیزی اطلاق می شود که دارای نقص یا خطای فیزیکی است، به این معنی که به درستی کار نمی کند یا مطابق با استاندارد مورد انتظار نیست:

💢 The car was defective and wouldn't start.
ماشین خراب بود و روشن نمی شد. ( درست کار نمی کرد)

💢 She was born with defective hearing.
او با شنوایی ناقص متولد شد. ( طبق آنچه انتظار می رفت نبود)

✅ deficient:
   ناکافی / نارسا

به این معنی است که چیزی کافی نیست یا ناکافی است:

🔶 نکته اول:  اگر بعد از all و whole کلمه مفرد بکار رود ، هر دو کلمه به معنی تمام , همه یا کل می باشد.فقط دقت کنید که ساختار آنها متفاوت است:

✅ all (of) + determiner + noun

✅ determiner + whole + noun

💢 all (of) the summer / the whole summer
کل تابستان

💢 all of my life /my whole life
تمام زندگی من

💢 all (of) the week /the whole week
تمام طول هفته

🔶 نکته دوم : اگر بعد از all و whole کلمه جمع بکار رود معنی متفاوت می شود:

💢 All the houses were destroyed.
همه خانه ها ویران شدند.

💢 The whole houses were destroyed.
اکثر خانه ها ویران شدند.


🔶 نکته سوم : قبل از اسامی خاص همیشه از ساختار زیر استفاده می شود:

✅ the whole of / all of + proper noun

💢 I have seen the whole of / all of Paris.
من کل پاریس را دیده ام.

💢The scheme would cover the whole of / all of the UK.
این طرح کل بریتانیا را پوشش خواهد داد.

✅ alone : ( adverb ) ( adjective )
تنها ( بدون اینکه کسی پیشت باشه) ( بدون حس ناراحتی )

💢I like to live alone. ( adverb )
میخام تنها زندگی کنم.

💢I like to be alone. ( adjective )
میخام تنها باشم.

🔶 نکته : alone  هیچگاه قبل از اسم بکار نمی رود. در حالت صفت این کلمه بعد از be کاربرد دارد.

✅ lonely / lonesome ( adjective)
ناراحت و تنها / دارای حس فراق یا غریبی ( همیشه  توام با حس ناراحتی بخاطر تنهایی)

💢He is a lonely old man.
او یک پیرمرد تنها و غمگینه.

به مثال زیر دقت کنید:

💢 I liked to be alone for short periods, but after a few days, I started getting lonely / lonesome.
دوست داشتم یه مدت زمان کوتاهی تنها باشم ( بدون حس ناراحتی) اما بعد از چند روز احساس تنهایی کردم. ( با حس ناراحتی )

🔶 نکته: کلمه alone قبل از اسم بصورت صفت بکار نمی رود. بجای آن می توان از دو صفت solitay و lone  به معنی تنها ( بدون هیچکس ) استفاده کرد:

💢She enjoys long solitary walks.
او از پیاده روی انفرادی بمدت طولانی لذت می برد.

💢 He led a solitary life.
او تنها زندگی می کرد.

🟣 admission vs admittance

✅ admission:
اجازه ورود / پذیرش

permission given to someone to enter a building or place, or to become a member of a school, club etc:

💢 Admission is by ticket only.
ورود فقط با بلیط می باشد.

💢 The young men tried to enter a nightclub but were refused admission.
آن جوانها سعی داشتندکه به کلوپ شبانه وارد شوند اما از ورود آنها جلوگیری شد.

✅ admittance : ( formal )
(رسمی ) اجازه  ورود / پذیرش

permission to enter a place 

💢 Gaining admittance to the club was no easy matter.
ورود پیدا کردن به کلوپ کار ساده ای نبود. 

🔶 نکته : فقط کلمه admission بمعنای هزینه ورودی گاها همانند صفت قبل از یک اسم بکار می رود. کلمه admittance چنین کاربردی ندارد:

✅ admission:
هزینه ورودی

the cost of entrance to a concert, sports event, cinema etc

💢 Admission: $10 for adults, $5 for children.

✅ بعنوان قید حالت به معنی “in a special manner”:

💢 I don't want to be treated specially.
دوست ندارم به گونه خاصی با من برخورد بشه.

✅ قبل از صفاتی که past participle هستند:

چیز (بسیار) رادیکالی در مورد آن ایده وجود ندارد.

💢 The food was not especially good.
غذا خیلی خوب نبود‌.

✅ وقتی معنی
for a special purpose,” or “specifically,”
مد نظر باشد هر دو قید معنی یکسانی پیدا می کنند:

💢 The speech was written especially / specially for the occasion.
متن سخنرانی صرفا متناسب با آن مناسبت نوشته شد.

🔶 نکته مهم: برای تاکید بر فاعل ، especially باید بعد از فاعل قرار بگیرد نه قبل از آن:

✅ در بسیاری موارد هر دو یکسان هستند:

💢Close / Shut the door behind you.

💢 I shut / closed my eyes anf fell asleep.

اما

✅ برای چمدان / جعبه / صندوق و چیزهایی ازاین قبیل از shut استفاده می کنیم:

💢 My suitcase was so full I couldn't shut it.

✅ برای مغازه / دفتر کار / مطب ....از هر دو استفاده می کنیم:

💢 What time do the banks shut / close?

✅ اما برای اماکن عمومی مانند موزه / پارک / نمایشگاه ....از close به معنی تعطیل بودن استفاده می کنیم:

🟣 کاربرد already برای بیان تعجب

یکی از کاربرد های جالب  already برای بیان تعجب است. وقتی که کاری زودتر از زمان انتظار ما رخ می دهد.  در این کاربرد already انتهای جمله بکار می رود. به مثالها دقت کنید:

used to say that something has happened too soon or before the expected time:

💢 Have you eaten all that food already?
به این زودی اون همه غذا رو خوردی؟

🟣 Shadowing
تکنیک سایه

تکنیکی برای تقویت مهارت صحبت کردن ، شنیدن و تلفظ

🔶 علت نامگذاری این تکنیک بخاطر  عینا تقلید کردن از یک native speaker است. یعنی فرد بمانند سایه پشت سر او حرکت می کند و نحوه صحبت کردن , تلفظ و ساختارهای گفتاری او را دنبال می کند. 

سه نوع تکنیک سایه :

✅ 1. Lecture shadowing

شنونده عینا نحوه بیان سخنران را تقلید می کند. که شاملintonation و structure  می شود.

✅ 2. Reading shadowing

زبان آموز با صدای بلند نحوه خواندن کسی را بمانند او تکرار می کند که شامل stress patterns  و آهنگ جملات می شود.

✅ 3. Conversational shadowing

زبان آموز بخشی یا تمامی مکالمه فرد را بمانند او تکرار و تمرین می کند که شامل نحده بکارگیری واژگان و اصطلاحات می شود.

🔶 دوستان این تکنیک در تقویت fluency شما بسیار موثر است. برخی از زبان آموزان از سخنرانیهای TED و یا سخنران های مسلطی چون باراک اوباما برای تقویت زبان استفاده می کنند.

🟣 مقایسه almost با nearly


✅ نکته اول: almost نسبت به nearly زمان نزدیکتری را نشان می دهد:

💢 It's almost ten o'clock. ( perhaps 9:57)
تقریبا ساعت ده است.

💢 It's nearly ten o'clock. ( perhaps 9:45)
حدودا ساعت ده است.


✅ نکته دوم: قبل از کلمات منفی معمولا از almost استفاده می شود و یا hardly any یا hardly anything  بکار می رود.

almost never / nothing / any / etc.

💢He is almost never on time.
تقریبا هیچوقت بموقع نمی رسه.

💢 Almost nobody was there.
تقریبا هیچ کس آنجا نبود.

💢 He almost eats anything.
تقریبا هرچیزی رو می خوره‌.

💢 There was hardly any traffic. (NOT nearly no traffic).
تقریبا ترافیک نبود.

💢 Hardly any of my friends are married.
تقریبا هیچ یک از دوستان من ازدواج نکرده اند.

💢Hardly anybody objected to the idea.
تقریبا هیچکس به این ایده اعتراض نکرد.


✅ نکته سوم: قبل از nearly از قیدهای very و pretty استفاده می شود:

💢 I am very nearly tired.
من تقریبا خسته ام.

💢 He very nearly died.
نزدیک بود که او بمیرد.
