Is there anything Littlefinger said that wasn’t a lie?
So, Littlefinger is clearly one of the most self-serving individuals in the entire story. Pretty much everything he does is to increase his personal power and influence, harm people that could stand in his way, and remove obstacles from his path.
So in the course of all this, he says a lot of things to a lot of people, filled with lies and manipulative half-truths.
But, is there anything that Littlefinger says or does that is actually honest, a core of sincerity amidst all the deceptions? Do you personally believe anything he says about himself or his intentions?
For example, his professed love for Cat. Did he really love her? Or was it more of an obsession and another symbol of his lack of status at the time that he couldn’t get her hand?

Guilty pleasure characters?
For me it was probably Ramsay. He is evil and I fucking hate him. BUT I find him to be very entertaining and funny. Couple of times I found myself cheering for his character, followed by the feeling of disgust and guilt.

Is anyone else actually Edmure Tully?
Does anyone else feel bad for Edmure all of the time? I think I can relate to Edmure more than any other character in the show/books. A son who has exceeded in training. Who has an extremely successful father and grandfather as idols/mentors who are the definition of a man's man. And despite his aspirations, hard work, skills, and heart; he just always falls short of living up to his family's name.
Having felt that generational pressure, I honestly don't think I've ever sympathized with a character as much as Edmure Tully. Especially with what a raw deal he gets in life. This one goes out to all of the other Edmures (man or woman) out there. May you find something that you truly excel at that you can call your own. And even if your family is not impressed, may you find your own sense of pride in knowing you can do something and that you do it well.

Just finished ACOK
Finished AGOT in 10 days and ACOK in 15. At this pace, I'll be done with the series by mid-january and join your ranks in waiting.
I had seen the show 3-4 years back and after reading AGOT, I thought to watch the 1st season again but it kinda felt dry so I gave up on it and started the 2nd book. Loving the books so far, especially Arya and Jon's povs.

Im doing a rewatch of the series and noticed something I missed before.. After showing some imaging of Valerian steel swords being reforged, it then cuts to Tywin throwing some sort of dead animal/furry thing into the fire and watching it burn, almost ceremoniously. It looks like a dead dog, much to small to be a dire wolf. Can someone please explain?

I just finished GOT for the first time and I'm very pleasantly surprised!
Everyone told me I shouldn't even bother with Season 8, but I just finished watching it a few minutes ago and I'm SO glad I didn't listen. Personally, I feel like that was a fulfilling ending while still leaving me with things to think about.
It's no masterpiece, I'll admit! Still, I'm genuinely so happy right now because I was led to believe that the entire show was ruined by its ending but I still love Game of Thrones as much as I did before I started Season 8.
I could talk about details for hours, and I still have my fair share of complaints, but I just wanted to share my love for this show in its entirety :)) I also think there's nothing wrong with disliking Season 8, I'm just over the moon that it exceeded my expectations.

Would Cersei have surrendered if Daenerys went straight for King's Landing
Suppose Daenerys does the logical thing. After landing at Dragonstone, Daenerys immediately leads her forces to take King's Landing. Olenna and Ellaria stay at Dragonstone.
Her Dorthraki and Unsullied surround the city by land, Yara's fleet by sea. (The timeline of season 7 isn't clear, but lets assume Euron is in the city with his fleet).
Daenerys' dragons destroy the wall and Euron's fleet as its fighting Yara's. Does Cersei surrender?
The Lannister forces are outnumbered. There is no way to escape. She doesn't have the Golden Company or any anti dragon weapons like she does in season 8. No father to come rescue her. No more allies.
I think she would if given a good offer by Tyrion. If Cersei bends the knee, her and Jaime will be allowed to return to Casterly Rock to raise their child. Jaime becomes Warden of the West. The Lannister forces must disarmed. If she doesn't, she'll be executed.
Thoughts?
Long term, I think its interesting. Tyrion will still suggest allying with the Starks. If Jon can convince Dany of the White Walkers, you now have a united Westeros to fight the White Walkers. The combined forces of the North, Vale, High Garden, Dorne, Free Folk, Dorthraki, Unsullied and maybe even Lannister forces if Jaime becomes Warden and joins the fight.

Did Tywin later realize it was Arya?
I, like a lot of people, love the Tywin/Arya scenes from S2. After reading several threads on the topic, the consensus seems to be that:
1. No, Tywin did not recognize it was Arya, as he would have acted if he had, and
2. Yes, Littlefinger did recognize Arya, but opted to keep his mouth shut, likely because he thought he could later use it to his advantage
But as we know, Tywin later heads for KL and defeats Stannis. After that, he likely gets a thorough rundown of KL, and learns that only Sansa remains and Arya is MIA. So my question is this: did Tywin realize his cupbearer was Arya after arriving at KL?
