Do you think (granted that GRR publishes the last two books) that once the last one comes out, fans will produce a faithful animated version of the series?

I’m talking full production: every character casted, quality animation, and faithful storylines? And would the fact that HBO owns the rights or George’s permission matter if this is produced by fans?

Why is every scene with Robb and Talisa start or end with Roose Bolton?

In many of hte scenes with Robb, he'll be talking to roose bolton or something like that and then talisa will show up, or roose bolton will interrupt him and talisa. It seems deliberate that they are paired in many of these instances.

Is there supposed to be some sort of symbolism or foreshadowing here, such as Roose Bolton feeling disdain towards robb's foresaking of duty for talisa which foreshadows the red wedding and betrayal? Not sure if I'm reading into htis too much

Why did Stannis call for Robb Stark’s death?

I mean yes, I get that Robb was technically a traitor to the realm, but on a personal level there’s really no reason why Robb and Stannis should’ve had any bad blood. I mean hell, it was Robb’s own father who died defending Stannis claim to the throne, so at the very least both should’ve been united in their opposition to Lannister power.

Did he really only do it because his hot goth priestess told him to? That would be an explanation but it would make Stannis seems a bit weaker in my eyes tbh

Bran did not win the game of thrones

The game of thrones ended when the iron throne was destroyed and they decided to no longer have an autocracy.
Bran became King, but the king no longer had absolute power.

Otherwise, the game of thrones would have never ended.

Bran

Is his story pointless? Like its been a while since i watched the ending, does he give any useful insight in how to win, other than telling Jon about his parents, does he do anything?? They still would have won against the dead without him?

am i the only one who didnt find hotd good?

Dont get me wrong guys, i am very much a danny supporter and my favorite house is house targaryen. I just feel like hotd is very poor in quality compared to game of thrones in terms of the writing of the script, the depth of the characters and story. I dont post this on the hotd community because it would be disrespectul towards the people who actually love the show. Of course I am the kind of person to tell all this stuff and inmediately jump to the new season as soon as it airs, yet i do feel dissappointed with what they did with hotd. As i said, story is very inconclusive (there are way too many jumps in time), young rhaenyra seems as if it were a totally different character from adult rhaenyra, the dialogues are poor and not witty (there are unnecesssary silences, specially in daemon scenes), sudden deaths of characters who appeared for a few minutes so the spectator doesnt feel very connected to them, scenes which are very unpleasant to see and dont really bring anything new to the table (viserys being literally a living corpse or the feet scenes of alicent). The villains (team green) not being as charismatic as cersei (to put an example) and not feeling authentic, because again there isnt many depth to them, we dont know their motives, why they act the way they do, why alicent had beef with rhaenyra (i mean i do know but the serie doesnt really execute well the transition from being rhaenyra childhood friend to her worst enemy). And there is just so many chracters that are just “there” as if they were part of the background (like the daughters of laena) because again they dont serve a purpose of the story rather than being “team black” or “team green”. Anyways i could hours of why hotd is a BIG dissapointment but i do not wish to offend anybody with my post and my iphone 8 gets too hot as it were to explore when i write long paragraphs (the poor thing has survived for too long lmao😩). As i said, this is just my opinion, dont take it too seriously and of course i will watch hotd s2. Sending you guys lots of love !!

Rewatching and Musing

Doing a rewatch and I'm in season 7 and all I can think is #1. the damn army of the dead is so huge because they all keep killing each other and if they stopped warring every minute the Night King wouldn't have anyone to fight with him and #2. The Wall worked for thousands of years it because it had those sigils on it and no one tried to fight against the army of the dead prior, thus there was no dragon or giant to fight in his army, which in turn brought down The Wall which allowed them to pass. Maybe if they just did what the people did for centuries, but also allowed those who lived beyond The Wall to come to stay at The Wall or below for protection during the winter, they would have all been safer. I get that it's better to defeat the Night King ultimately, but he would have been no issue if The Wall wasn't destroyed. I'm curious if I'm way off on this.

I also only watched the show and read the first book.

I’m not trying to say there’s no plot holes, just trying to put some head cannon in place to keep the series coherent.

I now understand book readers’ pain regarding the show (kind of)

For a long time I’ve been a huge defender of seasons 5 and 6. They aren’t perfect, but I love them, and season 6 has my two favorite episodes of the whole series.

I would hear book readers talk about how the show went to complete shit after season 4. Too many book changes and bad writing. I always thought those fans were being very entitled. Regardless of their issues, seasons 5 and 6 are still top tier television. There’s a reason this show was hyped through the roof during those days.

HOWEVER, after watching The Last of Us TV show, I kinda get it.

I’m a HUGE fan of The Last of Us. It’s one of my favorite games of all time and I’ve obsessed about the series ever since I got The Last of Us Remastered for my PS4. So you have to understand that I was hyped beyond belief for the show. To be able to relate to my gf and friends over something I enjoy in a medium they could enjoy. Then the show came out.

The reviews are stellar. Critics love it, fans obviously love it. I wanted to love it so bad. But I just can’t, and I think a lot of the reason is because the game is SO MUCH BETTER that it’s hard for me to overlook the show’s issues. From the cinematography, the action, the performances, the pacing, the scares, and the writing; everything is better. One thing that really annoys me is how quiet the music is in the show. The game had very epic and emotional moments bc of the music. Meanwhile the show turns down the volume so much I have to lean in to hear.

Everyone loves The Last of Us show. I only hear positive things. But whenever I think of it, I can only think of everything they did wrong compared to the game. And that’s probably how a lot of the book readers for GoT feel. Sure, 5 and 6 are great seasons of TV overall, but they could’ve been so much better. I finally get it

Sam the slayer crow theory

In season 3 episode 8 we see Sam kill the first White Walker on screen, he’s warned of the Walkers presence by a murder or crows outside his shelter. Could these crows be the current as well as future 3 eyes ravens viewing this critical event through the eyes of those birds? In the books the 3 eyed raven is the 3 eyed crow and given the importance of dragonglass to the story it makes sense that they would want to see Sam discover this use of dragonglass. Am I way off base or is there some substance here?

Has anyone yet figured out why Jon's character was made to be half Targaryen when it seemed to make no difference in the story?

What was the point of him being Targaryen if he didn't benefit from it? He got a dragon temporarily and though the name makes him King he didn't become King. If they cut that part out of his character/story, him being part Targaryen, I don't think it would affect the story at all. His story seemed tied to his romance with Daney. He was the only one who could get close to her to kill her and it was because of their love, she wasn't guarded around him and Drogon was cool with him because Daney had strong feelings for him.

Why were the Living so bothered by having the Lannister army?

There is a lot of focus in Season 7 about getting the Lannister Army to join the fight against the dead. Now obviously it is a strong and well provisioned army, but what difference would have made?

In the war council before the Long Night, Jon straight up admits that they can't win in a straight fight. Their only chance was to kill the Night King. And he was of course right.

How would having the Lannister army make a difference other than buying slightly more time?

As a sidenote, it's odd they didn't dial the plan back one stage to attempting to assassinate White Walkers as they are proven to be killable and they know the wights they control will fall when they are killed. So sending Arya and a few others to stealthily kill White Walkers would have massively thinned out the army of wights and made a straight up victory more feasible.

How is Catelyn so oblivious to Lysa?

When Catelyn captures Tyrion and heads towards the Vale via the Kings Road to face justice, Tyrion remarks that Lysa has "changed". This implies that the Lysa that Catelyn knew is no longer the same.
Understandingly, the show/books are set in the feudal era where communication and travel is limited plus Catelyn was far up in the North but how on earth is she that oblivious to her own sister of whom she was "close" to?
In the books there is one known instance where Lysa sends a letter to Cat falsely accusing the Lannisters as being responsible for Lord Aryn's death hence we can at least establish that there was limited communication between them. Also, in her travelling party of soldiers both from the Riverlands and the North, why does only Tyrion know about Lysa? Tyrions only relation with Lysa is that of a failed marriage proposal.
