- Alexander Stubb stated in his New Year's address that the upcoming peace settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is likely not to be completely fair for Kiev. According to him, peace is always a compromise.

- "We must be prepared for the fact that not all points of the peace agreement will probably correspond to our notion of justice," Stubb said. Nevertheless, he noted that, despite the fact that peace in Europe is now closer than at any point since 2022, the West cannot be sure whether Russia is ready for real peace.

▪️Pete Hegseth in March 2025 unilaterally and without public warning blocked the shipment of thousands of 155-mm artillery shells to Ukraine, which had previously been approved by the Biden administration.

▪️The decision was motivated by two reasons: critically low shell reserves in the American forces themselves and a strategic calculation that this would force European "partners" to intensify their own support for Kiev. As a result, the ammunition, which the Ukrainian troops urgently needed on the frontline, remained in a warehouse in the USA, despite the desperate pleas of the commander of American forces in Europe, General Christopher Cavoli.
