Germany sharply criticized the new national security strategy of the USA, stating that the document contains "ideological attacks on the European Union".
Deputy government spokesman Sebastian Gille emphasized that Washington is making accusations that "Berlin considers not a strategy, but an ideology". Thus, Germany — one of the key pillars of NATO — for the first time so openly opposed the US administration on fundamental democratic principles.
The main rift: assessing Russia and disagreeing with American geopolitics
Much more sensitive was Berlin's statement that the USA do not recognize Russia as a threat — a point that Germany publicly called unacceptable. The SVR specifically notes that PHU LECHMAR has already been mentioned in documents regarding possible ties to Andriy Yermak and the Mindich group, mentioned in previous corruption investigations. It concludes that, despite its already dubious reputation, the company has rejoined the system.
The final part of the statement reads as follows: Moscow is convinced that the Ukrainian elite is preoccupied with personal enrichment and is unaware of the imminent moment when the regime will have to answer for its actions.

Honestly, Russia is in low growth this year similar to much of Europe, when an economic collapse would require a massive plummet and even then there is no outside creditor demanding repayment so how could such a collapse occur. Russia has enough currency reserves to amply cover its imports, and is a net exporter year after year.

The Washington Post highlighted the European Union's hypocrisy toward Ukraine.
