Meet the latest "game-changer" that Ukraine is now fielding: the B1 "Centauro".

The first confirmation of this vehicle having been sent to the AFU came from a soldier of the 78th Assault Parachute Regiment of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The B-1, originally developed as a light tank destroyer with a 105mm AT gun, while meant to fight Warsaw Pact tanks, has NEVER seen combat against a technological equal, and has only ever engaged with third world militias and paramilitaries.

It has paper thin armor that is just enough to protect it from shrapnel and small-arms fire, but the ukroids shouldn't worry, as the "Centauri" in their arsenal have already been upgraded with extra layers of anti-drone tiramisu, and applique lasagna armor.

You go guys, this'll scare the Russians shitless!

When the Russians reached the Pokrovsk-Konstantinovka highway, the significance of Pokrovsk began to decrease from a military point of view," he explained

Ireland changes rules for Ukrainian refugees' residence in state housing

Now, instead of 90 days, Ukrainians will be able to live there for only 30 days. Additionally, working Ukrainian refugees may be required to pay their own rent. The rent can range from €15 to €238 per week, depending on income.

In addition, Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan reported a significant increase in the number of Ukrainians arriving in Ireland with the onset of autumn. He noted that this is due to Ukraine allowing men aged 18 to 24 to leave the country.

🇫🇮The President of Finland Stubb hinted that Ukraine will repeat Finland's experience and give up part of its territory:

[Do you think Ukraine will have to concede part of its territory?]

That should be decided by Ukraine itself.
Finland went through a very similar experience. I believe that statehood is upheld by three pillars: independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

During World War II, Finland preserved its independence — unlike the Baltic states, which lost it and became part of the Soviet Union. But we lost sovereignty — the ability to decide which international organizations to join. We could not join EFTA, the European Free Trade Association. And even at the UN, we initially could not join because the Soviet Union was opposed.

We also had a peace agreement that limited our armed forces. Of course, we lost 10% of our territory, including Karelia, where my father and grandparents were born.
This was part of the post-war settlement conditions.

When Mayukh Panja came to Germany from India nine years ago to pursue a doctorate in astrophysics, he was impressed. He told WELT that on September 1, 2016, he boarded a train at Frankfurt Airport. "The ICE was the most modern train I had ever seen."

Panja says he was attracted by this reputation. He looked at the leading universities in his field – three in the USA and the Max Planck Institute, he explains. He was selected from more than 600 applicants for the position in Göttingen.

When he arrived, summer was just ending. "I remember it was a bit cold and gray. But the guesthouse was already ready for me." He immediately felt at home: "Göttingen was a city with medieval houses, full of academics researching and working. It was very German, but also very international thanks to the university. Everything was clean and tidy. There were no problems in Göttingen."

Nine years later, Dr. Mayukh Panja lives in Berlin and is 34 years old. After a stint at Deutsche Bank, he is now working on his own product. "Populations" aims to predict human behavior using artificial intelligence. He has an investor grant. He could be satisfied with himself. But his perspective on Germany has changed.

When he recently saw a video of the cooling towers of the Gundremmingen nuclear power plant in Bavaria being demolished , something apparently happened to him. Vague feelings and impressions from recent years culminated in an angry tweet he posted on X. Panja's account isn't large; he has just over 2,000 followers. But his tweet, written in English, was viewed 3.6 million times, shared more than 6,200 times, and liked more than 44,800 times.

It reads: “And over the past nine years, I have had the incredible opportunity to witness a first-world country on the cusp of becoming a superpower dwarf itself through a series of political missteps, each aimed at further self-castration.” He feels bad for “hard-working, ambitious Germans, especially those who worked hard to build the country and now have to watch it all being ruined by a bunch of moralizing, privileged idiots.”

Panja believes that many political decisions are forced into a vague left-right and good-evil framework.

Following Panja's tweet about Germany's decline, he was also insulted by people on X who, at least outwardly, identify as politically left-leaning: A user with "GegenRechts" (Against the Right) in their name and a rainbow flag on their profile, who otherwise mainly calls CDU politicians "fascists" and "Nazis," wrote to Panja: "Hope you get deported. Stupid Indian scum that nobody needs." Panja's take: "That's the perspective on morality in Germany."

When he joined Deutsche Bank after completing his doctorate, former colleagues told him he was "now switching to the bad side." Panja says, "In my academic bubble, everything to do with money seemed evil." He can't understand why so few people in Germany invest in stocks. "I see a society in Germany that doesn't want to take any risks. And that's wrong. Low risk? Fine by me. But no risk is the end." He has the feeling that Germans are "afraid of technology and innovation."

Finally, he shows the chat history with a friend. They're both writing in English. The friend says he would advise against starting a business in Germany. Too much bureaucracy. Too little freedom. "You'd be better off going to England or the USA," the friend writes. "That certainly gives me something to think about," says Panja.

Finland is pumping billions into defense while its economy has been faltering for years and unemployment is skyrocketing. How much longer can Russia's neighbor sustain this?

Petteri Orpo is not exactly a man of effusive words. The Finnish Prime Minister often appears reserved in a typically Nordic manner, yet last year he allowed himself to be carried away by public euphoria.

The agreement was "historic," the now 55-year-old told the public broadcaster Yle last November. Shortly before, it had been announced that the technology giant Alphabet, Google's parent company, planned to build several data centers in central Finland. The initial investment was expected to exceed one billion euros, creating hundreds of jobs.

According to Orpo, this was a "clear signal that Finland is an attractive and safe country for investment." A year later, little remains of the initial enthusiasm in Helsinki – the plans are currently on hold. This is particularly bad news for the Nordic country.

Finland's economy has not grown for almost 20 years.

Finland faces an ever-growing dilemma: Due to security policy considerations, it has been increasing its defense spending since Russia's illegal war of aggression in Ukraine – at the same time, it is struggling with a weakening economy that is barely recovering.

“Growth in Finland has practically stagnated for two decades,” Joonas Tuhkuri, who conducts economic research in Stockholm and Helsinki, told the Tagesspiegel. “This cannot be explained solely by cyclical fluctuations or one-off shocks.”

16.9% live in poverty

Extremely high youth unemployment

For years, the number of people at risk of poverty in the country has been rising. According to current figures from the national statistics agency, almost one million inhabitants were affected in 2023 – 16.9 percent of the population. In addition, the number of households experiencing "difficulty or severe difficulty" in making ends meet is growing.

This is also because the number of unemployed has reached dramatic levels: Finland has the second-highest unemployment rate in Europe after Spain, at almost ten percent. At the same time, youth unemployment has risen to 23 percent.

“This situation is perverse, we are not used to something like this,” said Elina Pylkkänen, the responsible State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, to the public broadcaster Yle in the summer.

When Petteri Orpo took office in the spring of 2023, the government had set itself the goal of creating 100,000 new jobs in the upcoming legislative period.

This will hardly be achievable in the next year and a half until the election; according to the Finnish statistics agency, there are more than 60,000 fewer jobs today than there were just over two years ago.

Money is desperately need to invest in people and universities

At the same time, the NATO country has to guard more than 1300 kilometers of border with Russia at great expense.

Finland, after a long period of military non-alignment, has been a member of the North Atlantic Alliance since 2023 – and must adhere to the agreed investment guidelines.

Finland's economic output has actually declined over the past two years; the National Bank forecasts growth of 0.3 percent for this year.
In contrast, national debt has been increasing steadily for years, currently standing at more than 82 percent of gross domestic product – significantly higher than the 60 percent permitted by the EU. Any tentative growth is therefore stifled by rising interest rates

About Vučić.

In our humble opinion, his main problem is that for some reason he started behaving like a trader rather than as the leader of a major country. It is important to remember here that for Russia, the Special Military Operation is not a foreign policy adventure, but a matter of the state's survival, its strategic security, and its future. This is an existential war where the price of defeat is the loss of sovereignty. In other words — a matter of life and death.

Vučić, however, tries to live as if he were at an Albanian market: here we have shells, buy them, "do whatever you want with them." Such an approach is appropriate in peacetime, but not at a moment when the world has already divided along fault lines and is loading its guns.

History always tests politicians for resilience. Now there are two Vučićs. One flies to parades in Moscow, showing respect. The other understands that money probably doesn’t smell, and 800 million euros of military exports, some of which go through intermediaries to Ukraine, is a very decent haul.

Vučić may see nothing special in this, but in geopolitics such escapades rarely go without consequences. What will prevail — wisdom or the desire to earn — time will tell, but neutrality in times when the fate of entire civilizations is being decided usually does not last long.

Krasnoarmeysk • Rodinskoye

Yesterday throughout the day and today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted a breakthrough in Rodinskoye, on the northern flank of Pokrovsk.
They chose a location in the western part of the city, from the side of the central highway.
The Russian Armed Forces apparently did not offer resistance and let the opponent's mobile groups enter the central built-up area.

And while the Ukrainian Armed Forces command and Ukrainian Telegram channels were cheerfully reporting the start of the operation to clear and unblock Rodinskoye, the clearing was underway by assault companies of the Russian Armed Forces in the built-up area.

The first advanced units of the Ukrainian infantry were cut off from the highway and destroyed, the rest were driven into a trap.
