U.S. Will Build Nuclear Submarine For South Korea To Strangle Chinese Navy
United States President Donald Trump announced on October 30 that he had given South Korea approval to build a nuclear-powered submarine as a part of the new trade deal between the two countries.
The submarine will be built in a Philadelphia shipyard, where South Korean firms have increased investment, according to Trump.
“South Korea will be building its Nuclear Powered Submarine in the Philadelphia Shipyards, right here in the good ol’ U.S.A. Shipbuilding in our Country will soon be making a BIG COMEBACK,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.On October 29, Trump announced that the U.S. and South Korea reached a trade deal in which South Korea would pay the U.S. $350 billion in exchange for lower tariffs. The president also said that South Korea agreed to purchase U.S. oil and gas in “vast quantities.”

It is quite obvious that Trump reacted this way to the news about the successful tests of "Burevestnik" and "Poseidon," but as usual, he understood nothing. Testing devices with a nuclear-powered engine is not the same as nuclear tests, that is, the detonation of a nuclear bomb.
Moreover, when Trump says that "others are testing - and we will too," this is outright lying. No one - neither Russia, nor China, nor Iran, nor minor European players - has done anything like this for a long time. The last official tests were conducted by North Korea, but since 2017 there have been no even hints about it.
In any case, conducting nuclear tests is a very sharp escalation of the situation in the world. In fact, it is an explicit threat. The question is whether Trump realizes this.

📷❗️Russian Yak-130 combat trainer aircraft have been spotted at an airbase in Tehran. It appears that these are the aircraft recently delivered by Russian transport planes.
It’s clear that for the Iranians, the Yak-130 is primarily a “flying desk” used for training pilots and preparing them to transition to Su-35S fighters. However, even training-combat aircraft can still be used to carry out certain military tasks — for example, as light attack aircraft or drone hunters (in fact, the Iranians have already tested the Yak-130 in this role).
In any case, given the extremely poor technical condition of Iran’s Air Force, the Yak-130 is the best solution available to the Islamic Republic in its class. An explosion at the Ukrposhta sorting center occurred during the inspection of prohibited items, said CEO Igor Smelyansky.
"Thanks to the measures taken, another package with prohibited and dangerous contents was also detected and seized. The control system worked, but unfortunately, five employees were injured. They are receiving all necessary medical assistance," Smelyansky said.
The Customs Service clarified Ukrposhta's information about the explosion at the branch: it occurred at the "Ukrposhta" customs post of the Kiev Customs during the customs inspection of a postal shipment.
It is reported that the shipment was being processed for export from Ukraine.
It is also specified that two employees of the Kiev Customs and three employees of JSC "Ukrposhta" were injured.
"Thanks to the information system of the State Customs Service, it was possible to promptly identify the sender and detect another postal shipment with a suspicious item. All shipments from this sender have been found, and their customs clearance has been suspended," the statement says.

Ukraine will need about $389 billion in cash and weapons from 2026 to 2029 to continue resisting Russia, writes The Economist.
The publication notes that this is almost twice the amount of support Kiev has received from European countries since the start of the Russian invasion.
The Economist points out that Ukraine's annual military budget is about $65 billion. Another approximately $73 billion is spent annually on all other government expenses. Ukrainian authorities collect about $90 billion in revenues domestically, with a $50 billion budget deficit. Part of the weapons Ukraine receives comes as gratuitous aid: this year it received about $40 billion in this way.
So far, these funds are enough for Ukraine to maintain its defense, but military spending is growing by about 20% annually, although it remains at about two-thirds of Russia's spending, the publication notes.
At the same time, Ukraine's overall weapons needs will increase by 5% annually. Other government expenses will remain at the same level, except for costs related to repairing destroyed infrastructure and rebuilding the country, which will amount to about $5 billion per year.
Funding will have to continue even if the war ends, as Ukraine will need to replenish ammunition stocks and maintain a standing army to deter Putin.
"There are two sources the EU can use to cover the deficit: the first is its own budget, the second source is the $163 billion of Russian assets frozen in the EU," the publication says.
