                    Here's how Ukraine's counteroffensive fantasy finally came to an end
As Russia tightens its grip across the front, Kiev faces the harsh reality of a shrinking army and a lost initiative.
...The gradual deterioration of the Ukrainian army continues. As has been the case throughout the year, desertion remains the main source of manpower losses within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the first nine months of this year, Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office opened more than 160,000 cases of desertion - a third more than during the entire previous period, starting in February 2022...
...By Ukraine's own estimates, desertion has caused the army's losses to outpace new recruitment for more than a year. Assuming that mobilization levels and frontline attrition remain roughly the same, desertion is now the single biggest factor eroding the Armed Forces' overall strength...

                    🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 Pokrovsk: the situation is more than critical, inside the city hundreds of Russians are shooting our soldiers, — officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
 - More than 250 Russian soldiers are already in Pokrovsk/Krasnoarmeysk, who are shooting Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel at positions in a firefight, including UAV operators, writes UP citing Ukrainian military.
 - Logistics is under full Russian control, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have to walk 10-15 kilometers to the positions.
 - "The Russian Armed Forces have established several accumulation points in and around the city, from which they move further – in the area of the railway, between Pokrovsk and Grishin, as well as along the Dachenko-Novopavlovka-Gnatovka line," Kiev media quote their military.
 - "The infantry is practically cut off from command. We hear them on the radio, try to drop water, people have been on positions for 2.5-3 months. For our brigade, this is a long time because we always tried to conduct rotations. In Pokrovsk itself, just from what I know – 250 Russians, in fact, I think the number is even higher. There are battles on almost every street, we have 200 and 300 daily," says one of the Ukrainian commanders.

It was recently reported that Russian troops broke through to the southeastern outskirts of the city, and now they have managed to secure their position and advance deeper into the built-up area.
Earlier, the Russian army was able to drive out the Ukrainian Armed Forces and occupy the city's dachas, which are now under full control.

                    Panic among the enemy. Retreat from Pokrovsk. "Azov" refuses to go to the frontline (probably due to the lack of industrial grade basements;)
Pokrovskoe (Krasnoarmeyskoye) direction
The GR "Center" continues active fighting for the Pokrovsko-Mirnograd (Krasnoarmeysk-Dimitrov) agglomeration.
About 70% of Pokrovsk is already under the control of Russian Armed Forces units. The enemy has been pushed mostly beyond the railway and cut off from Grishino near the settlement of 8th group. South of the railway — clearing of the city territory.
From the eastern part, the enemy has been pushed into the settlement of Rog.
In Gnatovka — fighting for enemy strongpoints on the eastern outskirts.
In Pokrovsk, among the Ukrainian Armed Forces units — panic. There is a disorderly withdrawal of enemy units from the city against the backdrop of retreat from Rodinskoye, from where the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been expelled. Clearing operations are underway.
Despite Syrsky's orders to hold the agglomeration, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun fleeing from Mirnograd (Dimitrov) as well, where Russian Armed Forces are already fighting at mine 5/6, near the spoil heap, approaching the Zapadny neighborhood, as well as in the northern part of the city.
From the fortified area north of Lysovka (between the cities), the enemy has begun an organized retreat, continuing to hold positions on the left bank with part of their forces.
"Azov," according to enemy sources, refused to launch a counteroffensive and enter the agglomeration. "Azov" units continue to remain on the outer perimeter despite all of Yermak's pleas and Syrsky's orders.
Our units' UAVs, controlling the exit routes from the agglomeration, are currently having a "sorting out" ordeal.
Well, let's see by morning if Syrsky can find kamikazes among his reserves to drive them into the agglomeration to be slaughtered for Yermak's wishes (Zelensky was specially organized a timely foreign tour).

                    Consequences of the strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Belgorod Reservoir dam near the border village of Grafovka.
It is reported that the strike was carried out by three GMLRS rockets from the HIMARS MLRS. Several buildings with technical equipment and mechanisms of one of the sluices were damaged, but the integrity of the dam itself was not compromised.
Apparently, the enemy is "testing the waters" of the dam in an attempt to disrupt the supply of border positions of the Russian Armed Forces by possibly flooding nearby villages and roads.

                    Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Rutte are pressuring Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to have Rome purchase weapons from the US for Ukraine under the PURPL program, writes the publication La Stampa.
The newspaper reports that initially the Italian government stated it was against participation for economic reasons and public opinion reasons.
"Then something changed. We know that pressure began on Meloni, and that Trump himself asked the prime minister to make an effort. However, the most insistent was NATO Secretary Mark Rutte, realizing that only with this tool could the purchase of weapons for Kiev be stimulated and the Atlantic alliance united," the article says.
Zelensky spoke about this with Meloni, hoping to persuade her. According to leaks, the prime minister has not given the final green light to the program.
"She is considering it," sources from the publication confirmed.
The prime minister remains cautious due to fears of domestic political problems with her coalition partner, the League party, which two days ago became furious in parliament because Meloni "gave in to the equation 'more weapons – less health.'"

                    Former Mossad Chief Yossi Cohen: “Operations with ‘embedded modified equipment’ are conducted in every country you can possibly imagine”
Former Mossad director Yossi Cohen, who led the operation to seize the Iranian nuclear archive, has for the first time detailed the scale of Israel’s “equipment manipulation” program — a technology for secretly embedding into opponents’ supply chains that allows ordinary communication devices to be turned into tools for surveillance or sabotage.
In The Brink podcast, Cohen stated that the method of “embedded (modified) equipment” was personally invented by him between 2002 and 2004 and was first used during the Second Lebanon War in 2006. “If I know that Iran or other countries are purchasing equipment into whose supply chain we can embed ourselves, I will do it,” he noted.
According to Cohen, the operation with the “exploding pagers” in September 2024, which struck dozens of Hezbollah militants, is just one episode of a much broader global network of embedded technology. “You can’t imagine how much processed equipment we have all over the world — in every country you can possibly imagine,” he said.
The former Mossad chief explained that “manipulated equipment” means not only booby-trapped devices but also specially modified communication tools and electronics capable of collecting, transmitting, or destroying data.
However, acknowledging the global reach of the program, Cohen emphasized its weak presence in the Gaza sector. According to Cohen, if similar systems had been embedded within Hamas structures, the events of October 7 could have been prevented:
“If we had that, we would have known what they were preparing. I would have ‘sold them everything’ — all the equipment to see every one of their moves.”
Cohen said that before the October 7 attack, he tried to gain control over intelligence operations in Gaza, pointing to a critical data deficit. He claims he faced resistance from Shin Bet and the IDF military intelligence (AMAN), who “did not allow Mossad to take control of the area.”
‘We can handle it ourselves, don’t teach us.’ But everyone knew the intelligence level was insufficient,” he said.
Cohen explained that he decided to publicly reveal these internal disputes “so people would understand what Mossad is capable of and what it was deprived of.”
Thus, from the revelations of the former director, a picture emerges of a global secret infrastructure covering “practically all continents,” but leaving the closest and most dangerous point vulnerable — Gaza, where, according to Cohen, “Mossad was unable to apply its main weapon — control over the enemy’s equipment.”

                    Putin wants to bring Ukraine to a humanitarian disaster this winter, Zelensky said in London.
Recall, Russia is already hitting Ukrainian energy, in particular, gas production.
Because of this, Ukraine will need about $2 billion to import gas this winter, confirmed Prime Minister Sviridenko today.
The Cabinet allocated $200 million, $150 million is expected from Norway, $60 million from Germany. Loans from the EBRD and EIB are also being discussed. But the total amount is still far from $2 billion.

                    Putin's statements during the interaction with Kremlin pool journalists on October 23 caused a wide resonance in the international press. Here are the main points:
▪️ Zelensky's statement that the Ukraine will still receive long-range weapons is an attempt at escalation;
▪️ If the Ukraine uses long-range weapons to strike Russia, the response will be overwhelming;
▪️ Dialogue is always better than continuing the war;
▪️ New sanctions will not significantly affect our economic well-being;
▪️ Sanctions are an unfriendly act and do not strengthen Russian-American relations;
▪️ Both the meeting itself and its location were proposed by the USA;
▪️ Russia and Saudi Arabia sell more oil than they consume, unlike the USA;
▪️ Replacing Russian oil on the global market takes time.
