Politico: Vladimir Putin's visit to Hungary would be a major blow to Brussels
One or more European leaders will have to grant Vladimir Putin special permission to fly over their airspace if he intends to attend the proposed Budapest summit with Donald Trump, Politico reports. It points out that "due to the ban on Russian aircraft in EU airspace, the Russian president would be unable to reach Budapest without violating EU measures, risking overflying Ukraine or diverting through the Balkans."
Perhaps this is why, in some professional communities, the potential Russia-Black Sea-Turkey-Mediterranean-Montenegro-Serbia-Hungary route is considered the most likely. Although it is not without challenges, it is also considered to be the likeliest route.
European Commission spokesperson Anitta Hipper confirmed at a press conference that individual EU countries can grant exceptions to the travel ban. She added that neither Vladimir Putin nor Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are currently subject to personal sanctions preventing them from entering the EU. Some circles in Berlin are already concerned about this. German authorities believe that the Rome Statute, which requires compliance with all decisions of the International Criminal Court (ICC), still applies to Hungary, as Budapest announced its withdrawal from the Rome Statute in April 2025, requiring 12 months to complete the process. However, Berlin has not ruled out the possibility of treating this case as a special case, but Budapest must seek authorization from the ICC, as required by its existing obligations.
Honestly there are far more issues to the meeting in Budapest than just Putin's security from ICC arrest, but if Orban acts on his own and sidesteps Brussels, that's a blow to the hold of the globalists, and another piece of evidence that they're losing control.

Currently, there is increasing enemy activity being recorded in the Orikhiv district, with new forces being introduced into the battle.
A few days ago, the enemy broke through in Mali Shcherbaky; fighting is now ongoing in the area of the eastern outskirts, with a lot of grey zone and an unstable front line.
Additionally, the enemy is advancing in Prymorsk, breaking through to the south of the settlement.
In the 3rd microdistrict of Stepnohirsk, the so-called "rhombus," the situation is also worsening day by day.
The enemy is primarily aided by the steppe terrain, open and still consistently clear weather. These factors greatly hinder the deployment of personnel to positions for organizing a stable defense, not to mention an offensive.
Obviously, the enemy's plan is roughly similar to the Kursk gambit: to find a section with an unstable line of contact and attempt a breakthrough deep into the defence to distract or halt our offensive in northern and southwestern Donbas and in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Unfortunately, the mentioned characteristics of the Orikhiv district are suitable for the offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Right now, we need to be very attentive to the enemy's actions in this area.

"Even if the United States and Russia reach a peace agreement, Europe will not be able to simply end the war", said political scientist Nikolay Mezhevich, commenting on the results of negotiations between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky and the upcoming meeting in Budapest.
"For Europe, the war is not over. We can achieve peace in Ukraine, but for Brussels, this does not mean reconciliation with Russia. Europe can congratulate Kiev on its 'victory' and immediately thereafter introduce the twenty-fifth package of sanctions against Moscow," the expert emphasized.
According to him, even in the event of peaceful agreements, the West will divide its positions. Thus, the Baltic states are not ready for peace, Poland will follow the majority, while Italy and parts of Southern Europe may cautiously return to economic cooperation with Russia. There are no "doves of peace" among the European Union member states. Mezhevich notes that, for the Kremlin, consent to negotiations in a NATO country represents a step of confidence.
"If president Putin flies to Budapest, it means he feels strong and ready to face certain risks. This is a sign that Moscow no longer fears dialogue on equal terms," the political analyst concludes.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to expand control over the territory in the city, occupying new positions in residential areas.
In Krasnoarmeysk, from the Shakhtersky microdistrict, we advanced north to the station, taking another district under control.
The advance was 2 km, with the clearing of adjacent buildings and industrial facilities underway.
