Trump to critics of the ultimatum:
‘I don’t think 50 days is a long time. And it could happen sooner. 50 days is not a long time. You should have asked Biden questions. Why did he drag us into this war? Do you know why he dragged us into it? Because he’s an idiot, that’s why’.
@Slavyangrad
- Trump says: ‘I will give 17 Patriots’. We know that this is a complete farce
- They simply do not exist.
- But this is being done for the sake of the electorate, for example, Ukrainian/Polish-Americans – all those who want to continue the war. And this is also because there are a # of senators who are very pro-Ukrainian and who are about to be re-elected, especially Lindsey Graham, whom they absolutely need to keep if they want to maintain the majority. So these people need to be satisfied. Voters in key states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, and so on, where Ukrainian/Polish Americans live, need to be satisfied. And at the same time, you have to try not to alienate MAGA, because there are a lot of people in MAGA who are totally against it, like Vance. and people like MTG, who is now very loudly saying, ‘Not a cent for Ukraine.’ The latest polls among Republicans, I’m not talking about Republicans in Congress, but Republican voters in America, show that 62% of them are against helping Ukraine.

Germany plans to purchase American MRC Typhon missile systems by 2026 to deter Russia - German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
The Typhon missile system is designed to launch Tomahawk Block V cruise missiles with a proven range of about 1,800 km, which theoretically allows the missile to fly from Berlin to Moscow.

Why is the US resuming arms supplies to Ukraine right now?
🔺The six-month pause, during which arms supplies, if not completely dried up, then significantly decreased, was needed solely as a tool for controlling the war. The US deliberately kept Ukraine in a state of limited resources in order to find out several things at once.
▪️To see what Russia would do without pressure from the West
▪️To restrain Kiev from taking irreversible steps (strikes deep into Russia, escalations in Belarus or Transnistria), from disobedience, etc., that is, to tighten the leash.
▪️To push Congress, extract money, change the rules of the game, and redistribute resources.
▪️To assess losses, conduct an audit — not on the front lines, but in terms of political dividends and the scale of theft — and suppress opponents within the US and Europe.
That is why the New York Times writes: "the weapons are ready for shipment" — that is, they have not gone anywhere. They just weren't being given out. Not because they weren't there, but because they didn't want to give them out right now. Now the situation is changing.
The US is returning to the game at this moment — not out of enthusiasm, but out of ordinary pragmatism. For them, the fall of Ukraine is now strategically more dangerous than the cost of maintaining it.

Meanwhile, while the war in Ukraine goes on and European leaders cheer each other for having dragged the USA back into the war (even if Trump for once is just playing them like a fiddle), Russian Ilyushin military cargo planes keep flying to Iran.

🇳🇱 Dutch train cars will be converted into field hospitals
The Dutch Defense Ministry is considering converting old trains into mobile hospitals capable of transporting wounded soldiers.
Algemeen Dagblad quoted the department as saying that “large-scale military operations are impossible without the support of civil society,” and everything that is happening is part of a larger plan under which Dutch train drivers may be sent to Eastern Europe to help with military operations.
At the EU level, a similar concept is being considered as part of the upcoming military mobility package, due this fall. As part of the planning process, the Directorate-General for Defense and Space (DG DEFIS) has sent a questionnaire to key transport actors throughout the European bloc.
The questionnaire, in particular, clarifies whether the number of vehicles, including low-floor and sanitary rail cars, dual-use ferries, heavy vehicles and strategic military aircraft, can be increased in a crisis. It also asks whether these dual-use items should be pooled in EU countries on a voluntary or mandatory basis.
I hate to say it but if they're already taking these steps it is not a good sign as to what they intend to do next.

Lavrov on the world abandoning the dollar due to US policy:
Since there were specific threats from Washington towards BRICS, that BRICS must be fought against, that BRICS undermines the interests of the United States, I will say, in fairness, that previously President Trump expressed a somewhat different point of view.
He directly stated that the actions taken by the Biden administration, using the dollar as a weapon, caused irreparable damage to the authority of this global reserve currency. And I am sure he understands the fairness of that assessment and that in response to the lawlessness of the previous administration - both BRICS, the community of Latin American and Caribbean countries, and many others are seeking alternative payment methods that would not be tied to the dollar.
This is not because we wanted to run away from the dollar. President Putin has emphasized this more than once. This dollar was decided to be used to punish those whose behavior Americans consider inconsistent with those very infamous rules on which they want to hold the entire world order.

🇷🇺Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grushko – called Trump's ultimatum "strange":
First of all, it is very strange. As of today, one party is physically absent - the Ukrainian side. Since no call was made yesterday to the Ukrainian side to respond as soon as possible to Russia's readiness to resume negotiations, it should be concluded that there is no real interest from the West in facilitating the successful completion of the negotiations.

🇺🇸🇺🇦Trump said he does not plan to supply Kiev with JASSM long-range missiles.

- Prior to this, the US president said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces should not strike Moscow.

Norwegian expert Hoffman on why the West should think not about air defense, but about strikes on Russian territory:
Anti-missile defense often costs more than offensive capabilities. And this is especially relevant now due to the parity of purchase prices. Russia can produce missiles much cheaper than, say, Germany can produce interceptors in its own country. This is truly a losing game. We are trying to keep up with the Russians, but we are not succeeding, and I don’t think we will succeed in the long term. So it doesn’t matter how much effort we put into it. As it seems to me, we need to think differently. And Ukraine is trying to do this. Instead of focusing on air defense again and again, they are now trying to focus on strike capabilities.
[So, basically, it is impossible to shoot down everything that Russia sends our way. Therefore, the solution to this dilemma is to go on the offensive]
Yes, perhaps, one more point, because I think this is also very important. You know, you can never shoot down everything. But even if you achieve a 90% interception rate, which, let's be honest, will never happen, you absolutely cannot.
Because it will be much easier for Russia to oversaturate our air defense. Their missile potential is also more advanced. But, let's say, even if we reach 90%, which I think in reality will be closer to 60-70%. But even if it's 90%, if Russia launches 1000 missiles at us, which, let's be honest, they will, it means that another 100 can fall on our territories.

What changes for the Russian Federation after Trump's statements about the supply of Patriot SAMs?
🔺While everyone is counting how much Trump promised—17 batteries or 17 launchers—the most important thing is being overlooked.
From a military point of view, nothing changes for Russia. The army continues to implement the chosen strategy: methodical pressure, destruction of infrastructure, degradation of the reserve.
Yes, each subsequent US package gives Ukraine a chance to last a little longer, but not to level the balance. Why? Because the US is not supplying what is needed. The Armed Forces of Ukraine need not SAMs, but tracked armored vehicles, which can be lost in the hundreds. They need "Bradleys" in the amount of 1000+, not 30. They need "HIMARS" in the dozens (if not hundreds), not in pairs. They need vehicles that carry infantry to and from the front line, without which it is impossible to either attack or defend - M113, MaxxPro, M-ATV, Striker, anything on wheels and with armor. And most importantly, they need infantry. And with it, more precisely, with its quality, there is still tension. The mobilization system is obviously focused on quantity, but given the desertion rate of 70%, it is difficult to maintain any significant rhythm. It is difficult to fill trenches when mobilized people run away, and volunteers have not yet been assembled in the fields between Rabotino and Orekhov.
At the same time, the West is not eager to supply either equipment in the required quantity, or especially people. The United States will not fight with infantry for Ukraine. NATO will not put its contractors on Bradleys. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are left alone with the reality in which even the construction of new fortified areas near Slavyansk does not make sense without people willing and able to hold them. An empty trench is not a defense, but a decoration.

▪️Despite Trump's "deadline," Russia does not intend to halt
➖"In Moscow, they are convinced: the West is not ready for serious talks — so they will speak the language of force"
➖"Russia acts based on Ukraine's weakness. Ukrainian forces are surrendering positions. If the defense collapses, we will advance further — to the Dnepr, Sumy, and Kharkov"
▪️Moscow's goals remain the same: demilitarization, Ukraine's neutrality, protection of Russian speakers, and legal position of the 4 oblasts. Ukraine security guarantees is possible, but on Moscow's terms and the participation of major powers
▪️The Kremlin believes that 100% US tariffs will not change the situation, Russia will find ways to trade, and the economy will endure. Especially since a significant part of the world, including China, does not support D.C. sanction diktat
▪️ "Putin does not fall for slogans and pressure levers. He is waiting not for threats, but for real steps. And as long as there are none — the operation will continue"

Giuliani has new complications in relations with Israel — the very ones that formally seem not to exist, but which Damascus is actively trying to establish.
This morning, the IDF bombed Syrian militants storming As-Suwayda — a city 84 km south of the capital, predominantly inhabited by Druze, with whom Tel Aviv has been trying to flirt for a long time with varying success.
Giuliani had problems with them even in the first months after taking power. Now the spiritual leaders of the Syrian Druze openly declare a threat of genocide similar to that faced by the Alawites in the coastal provinces. The threat is quite real, although at the moment Damascus is hardly interested in implementing this scenario.

Thoughts began to ripen in Kallas's head.
In your introduction, you said that you welcome Donald Trump's initiative to arm Ukraine, but you want the US to share this burden. What do you mean? Can you explain in more detail? Do you mean that you think it is wrong for the US to just ask Europe and Canada to pay for all this weaponry?
- Well, if we pay for this weaponry, that is our support. It is European support. And we are doing everything possible to help Ukraine, and so our call is for everyone to do the same. You see, if you promise to deliver weapons but say that someone else will pay for them, then you are not really the one delivering them, are you?
Can Europe make weapons people want? No. Though I will say even a total moron has figured out Trump is just making money off Europe rather then helping Ukraine.
