💬 Gorlovka is one of the most affected cities today. We no longer believe in these ceasefires
Gorlovka is likely one of the most affected cities today, with 465 civilians killed, including 27 children. A significant number of social and engineering infrastructure facilities have been destroyed. Of course, we are doing everything possible to achieve the long-awaited peace; however, we know the Istanbul negotiations, as well as the Minsk agreements, and there were no results from them,
"First video of North Korean M1989 Koksan self-propelled gun firing in SMO.
Russian military demonstrated the Koksan self-propelled howitzer in operation. The self-propelled artillery unit can "delight" the army with regular 170-mm shells at a distance of 40 km, and with active-reactive shells at 60 km.
Before this, no video had been recorded of these self-propelled."

On May 19, the North group of troops destroyed the enemy's advanced and assault units in the Tyotkinsky and Glushkovsky directions and continued to create a security zone in the Sumy region.
Having suffered colossal losses on May 18 , the enemy concentrated its efforts on transferring reserves to the Putivl and Belopolsky districts of the Sumy region. At the same time, the enemy again attempted to break through to our territory. The northerners repelled the attack, preventing the crossing of the state border.
▪️ At lunchtime, an assault group from the 225th separate regiment advanced towards the state border from Bessalovka. After fire defeat, the occupiers tried to escape in the opposite direction: most of the enemy personnel were eliminated, the rest took refuge in the forests north of Iskriskovshchina. The search for and destruction of the surviving Ukrainian Armed Forces is underway.
▪️ Our artillerymen and UAV operators struck exposed enemy positions in the Sumy region, destroying: enemy special forces combat groups ( Doroshovka and Gorki villages), 425 separate regiments ( Pavlovka and Obody villages), as well as a mortar crew, armored fighting vehicles and self-propelled guns deep in the Belopolsky and Putivl districts.
▪️ An analysis of obituaries showed that groups of servicemen from the 33rd separate regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also operating in this section of the front; they were assigned to the 225th separate regiment over a month ago, kept in reserve in the Krasnoyarsk direction, and then transferred to participate in the "Tetkino provocation."
In the Tyotkinsky and Glushkovsky directions , 8 units of enemy equipment were destroyed in 24 hours.
In the Sumy direction, our airborne forces and motorized rifle units are consolidating their positions in the liberated territories and are also clearing border forest belts.
▪️ Fearless paratroopers in the forests of the Sumy region drove entrenched enemies out of several strongholds, advanced several hundred meters, and are gaining a foothold.
▪️ The enemy continued to transfer reserves to this section of the front. Ukrainian "volunteers" began actively collecting funds for ammunition and vehicles for the 210th separate regiment , whose units advanced to the Sumy region from the outskirts of Kiev.
▪️In one day, Sever engineering units discovered and defused 7,659 explosive objects.
The total advance of the Severians in the Sumy direction amounted to over 450 meters .
In order to prevent repeated provocations by the enemy in the directions of Popovka and Demidovka (Belgorod Region), the Fearless began assault operations to create a security zone in this section of the front - yesterday morning the village of Maryino (Sumy Region) was liberated .
In the Volchansk and Liptsy directions , as a result of complex fire damage, seven enemy combat groups, two tanks, artillery and mortar crews, and Ukrainian Armed Forces vehicles were destroyed.
▪️Over the past 24 hours, our assault groups cleared nine households in Volchansk and also advanced over 170 meters in the direction of the village of Volchanskie Khutor .
Over the course of 24 hours, the enemy suffered over 180 casualties (including over 90 in the Sumy and over 40 in the Tyotkinsky directions). Also discovered and destroyed:
On the Tetkino and Glushkovsky directions:
▪️BBM "Kozak";
▪️SPG"Gvozdika";
▪️three UAV launch sites;
▪️a pickup truck and five ATVs.
In the Sumy direction:
▪️howitzer "D-30";
▪️three mortars;
▪️five units of automotive equipment;
▪️three UAV launch sites;
▪️five fixed-wing UAVs and six heavy copters.
On the Volchansk and Liptsy directions:
▪️two T-72 tanks;
▪️howitzer "FH-70" (British-German development);
▪️two mortars;
▪️four pickups;
▪️five UAV launch sites;
▪️twelve heavy copters.

▪️Trump said that Zelensky is “not the easiest to communicate with”;
▪️The US provided Ukraine with “record amounts for a foreign state”;
▪️In 2-4 weeks it will be possible to say whether Ukraine is doing enough to end the conflict and achieve peace.
▪️Russia is not wasting time in negotiations on Ukraine.

Trump: If there is no significant progress on Ukraine, the US will cede its role in the settlement to Europe
▪️The US is not yet withdrawing from peace talks on the Ukrainian conflict.
▪️The conflict in Ukraine should have remained a European problem, the US should not have interfered, he added.
▪️Trump also said that he believes in Putin's desire for peace in Ukraine.
▪️He will consider the option of increasing arms supplies to Ukraine, but believes in the settlement of the conflict, there is a chance to achieve peace, therefore the US is not tightening sanctions against Russia.

We're going stratospheric.
Average daily advancement of the Russian Armed Forces in the SMO zone.
Updated data from May 14 to May 17, 2025.
The rate of advance is 31.5 km² per day for the period, the total advance is 126 km².
In May, no less than 400 km will be captured, clearly marking a return to the offensive operations that began around this time in 2024 and lasted until early 2025.

Now for something a little different. Having stirred our warrior and doomer spirits with days of Russian post punk, then enjoyed a respite with Soviet cartoons, now it's time to stimulate the more intelligent parts of our brains.
What better way to do this, than to feed our frontal cortexes with a list of the best jazz, funk, psych and folk from around 1970s-1980s USSR.

Breaking news: The Navy’s former second-highest-ranking officer was convicted of bribery and other counts, becoming the senior-most member of the U.S. military ever convicted of committing a federal crime while on active duty.
The Navy’s former second-highest-ranking officer was convicted of bribery and other counts Monday, becoming the senior-most member of the U.S. military ever convicted of committing a federal crime while on active duty.
Retired four-star Adm. Robert P. Burke, former vice chief of naval operations, was found guilty of steering work to a New York company in 2021 in exchange for a $500,000-a-year job after leaving the Navy. The jury deliberated three days in Washington, D.C.
Burke, 63, of Coconut Creek, Florida, who retired as commander of naval forces for Europe and Africa in 2022, was convicted of bribery and conspiracy to commit bribery, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, although first-time offenders face far lower penalties. He was also found guilty of performing acts affecting a personal financial interest and concealing material facts, punishable by up to 30 years.
Burke was charged along with the co-CEOs of technology services firm Next Jump, which he joined after retirement. Charlie Kim, 50, and Meghan Messenger, 47, face trial in August. A lawyer for Kim and Messenger declined to comment.
The high-profile military corruption case offered a harsh glimpse of challenges the Navy has faced in recent years in combating command failures and alleged conflicts of interest. Burke helped lead the Navy’s response while serving as chief of naval personnel from 2016 to 2019, and vice chief of naval operations from 2019 to 2020, before retiring in summer 2022.
There is mass corruption in the US when it comes to military procurement. While the US military has a good military, one has to only ask why the Chinese can produce more for 1/5 the cost.

Amid the doom and gloom of falling crude prices and weakening demand growth, oil bulls could find one nugget of cheer in the latest report from the International Energy Agency: a modest upward revision to historical consumption.
That may not seem terribly exciting, but it wiped out three years’ worth of apparent global oil stockbuilds and drained an ocean of “missing barrels.”
The world used about 330,000 barrels a day more in 2023 than was previously reported, according to the IEA. Africa accounted for three-quarters of that revision, with higher consumption in Egypt and Nigeria.
At a stroke, the IEA’s revision wiped out all the stockbuilds it saw in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Rather than adding 220 million barrels of oil to global inventories during those three years, the IEA now says we have drawn them down by nearly 75 million barrels. That swing is equivalent to almost three-quarters of the US strategic reserve.
Never trust IEA numbers, the OPEC numbers are always considered much better. IEA in my view manipulates data to lower oil prices and it overhypes green energy potential.
