I insisted that this meeting take place, and it will take place. I think something good can come out of the meeting in Turkey on Thursday between Russia and Ukraine. As I understand it, both leaders are going to be there. I was thinking of flying there.
I don't know where I'll be on Thursday - I have so many meetings - but I've really thought about going. I think it's a possibility if it feels like something could happen. But we need to get results. We need to save 5,000 lives a week. 5,000 lives a week. More than that, actually.

US government plane with "important guests" on board arrives in Vilnius, according to Sputnik Lithuania (@sputniknews_lt).
Lithuanian Airports spokesperson Lina Beišienė confirmed that the plane arrived in the Lithuanian capital on May 10.
According to media reports, there were important guests on board – members of Congress, Republicans Ken Calvert, David Roeser, Jack Ellzey and Democrats Betty McCollum and Ed Case. They met with some Lithuanian politicians, including the leader of the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats party Laurynas Kasciunas.
Oh noooooooooooes, the Yanks are meeting with the Lithuanians to coordinate the war effort in Ukraine. Guess it's time for Russia to surrender now.

Why exactly did Macron touch Stormer with a typical "heads up" gesture, and why exactly he immediately tried to hide an innocuous paper napkin in such a blatant way is a question best left unanswered. As is why exactly Macron doesn't take a drug test to wipe away all doubts.

Europe should not interfere in the negotiation process on Ukraine
Slovak Prime Minister Fico is sure of this. He noted that he was shocked that European leaders did not agree with the proposal of Russian President Putin to start negotiations in Istanbul.
"What do they have to do with this? Isn't this Ukraine's business? Are there any representatives of Ukraine? So, either Ukraine is interested in this or not," he said.
Argentina's Supreme Court has found Nazi propaganda boxes in an archive that were seized in 1941, the Perfil newspaper reported.
The materials were sent by the German embassy from Tokyo on June 20, 1941, and were declared as personal belongings of employees. Despite this, the cargo was opened by local authorities, who found postcards, photographs and propaganda materials from the German regime, designed to spread Hitler's ideas in Argentina. The case was transferred to the Supreme Court because it affected the interests of another country, and the materials have remained in court ever since.

The European Commission is discussing the introduction of sanctions against Nord Stream 2 if Russia does not agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine, as stated EC spokesperson Paula Pinho.
The language of ultimatums cannot be used for dialogue with Russia, Peskov said, commenting on the threat of introducing new European sanctions against Russia if Moscow refuses to cease fire in Ukraine.

SAS veterans break silence on war crimes committed by their colleagues and swept under the rug by their superiors, BBC reports
Honestly, I am not surprised that the United Kingdom has once again been responsible for some horrifying crimes against humanity (and "brown people" in particular), I am however shocked that for once somebody found the courage to speak up.
The article is a pretty heavy read and it is not recommended to people with a sensible stomach, but it is linked for those interested. Highlights of those atrocities include, but are not limited, to:
➡ Handcuffing a child "not of fighting age" and shooting him in cold blood
➡️ Killing of detainees by handcuffing them, then shooting them, before cutting off the plastic handcuffs used to restrain people and "planting a pistol" by the body
➡️ Routinely killing of people too injured to be of any real threat
➡️ Senior officers ordering young soldiers to indiscriminately kill people in their sleep
The sources, who have chosen to remain under anonymity, have described the actions of their fellow SAS soldiers as "mob-like", "barbarous", and "psychopathic", and allege that the whole structure all the way to the Prime Minister was aware of what was happening, but simply looked the other way. Westminster can't hit the merry "We weren't aware" button on this one, since by the BBC's own admission, there is no parliamentary oversight on British special forces, and everything is trusted directly to the Prime Minister, the defence secretary, and head of special forces.
Funny that once again those who lecture other countries on "war crimes" and "atrocities against civilians" are the first ones to have an entire charnel house hiding in their closets.

Against the backdrop of the ceasefire on May 8-10, Ukrainian forces reduced the intensity of attacks. There were no enemy strikes on the rear regions of Russia, although shelling continued in frontline and frontline areas.
In the Dzerzhinsky direction, an enemy attack deep into Dzerzhinsk was repelled, the landing force was destroyed. Russian troops expanded their zone of control to the northwest of the city.
In the Andreevsky direction, the Russian Armed Forces reached the southeastern outskirts of Alekseyevka and also consolidated their positions in Bogatyr . To the south, they pushed the enemy back from their positions on a wide section of the front, occupying several forest belts.
