The remarks came during a meeting on Sunday between Seyyed Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Fadlallah conveyed greetings from Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem and commended the brave Iranian nation’s resistance against American-Zionist military aggression, as well as Tehran’s steadfast diplomatic approach.

📌 Tehran, IRNA- Iran’s acting defense minister says the country has faced a hybrid war of unprecedented scale, involving cyber, military, proxy and counter-revolutionary elements, with some bombs specifically manufactured for use against Iran.

Majid Ibn al-Reza, caretaker of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, made the remarks in separate meetings with parliamentary commissions on agriculture, environment, and planning and budget, where he presented a report on the latest imposed war and the performance of the country’s defense industry.

“The enemy entered the field with a combined pattern, using cyber tools, military forces, proxy forces and counter-revolutionary elements, employing all its capabilities,” Ibn al-Reza said.
​
He added that “some weapons were used for the first time, and even some bombs were specifically manufactured for use against Iran.”
​
The acting defense minister described the recent war as “one of the most unprecedented in history from various aspects,” calling it “the first large-scale missile war, the first large-scale drone war,” with the highest volume of air operations and among the first wars in terms of extensive use of various defense technologies.
​
Despite the intense fighting, Ibn al-Reza said the defense industry continued its activities without interruption, even under the most difficult wartime conditions.
​
“Production of defense products did not stop; in some areas, we saw a two- to several-fold growth,” he said.
​
He also noted that capabilities were upgraded during the war, adding that “in different waves of attacks, we operated differently and more effectively than before in terms of technology and performance.”
​
The acting defense minister said Iran is preparing for “threats of the next 50 years,” with the ministry relying on capable managers, motivated staff and expert elites to conduct future studies and design the path forward.

“Our movement will be toward maximum use of national capacity,” he said.

“If you had succeeded on the military front, there would have been no need for all this economic uproar,” Brigadier General Hossein Mohebi told media representatives in the northern province of Alborz.

Mohebi said hostile forces had been forced to move their vessels back by a considerable distance, adding that attempts to open the Strait of Hormuz or break Iran’s defensive capabilities had failed.

He urged Iranian media to identify the nature of the war and its participants and to explain them to the public, saying they should not allow an adversary that had been defeated on the battlefield to appear victorious in people’s minds.

As the second item on the agenda of their virtual meeting on Sunday, lawmakers continued deliberations on the bill, which seeks to counter infiltration by foreign intelligence services, governments and other external entities.

During the session, lawmakers examined and voted on proposed amendments to Article 2 of the bill.

The general outlines of the 33-article bill on countering infiltration by foreign intelligence services, governments and other external entities were approved by 183 lawmakers during an open session on August 16, 2026.

Speaking at a ceremony marking Doctors’ Day in the nuclear industry on Sunday, Mohammad Eslami said the plant produces the fuel required by the Tehran Research Reactor.

“The Tehran reactor is a research reactor and is mainly used for research and production work related to radiopharmaceuticals,” Eslami said.

He added that a radiopharmaceutical production facility was also among the facilities hit in the air raids.
​
Eslami further pointed to the bombing of an oxygen-18 production line at the Khondab complex, saying the material is needed for PET scans and is produced domestically to support the country’s PET scan services.
​
He said the acts of aggression were “a clear and naked symbol of their school of thought,” arguing that the targets were scientific activities whose products are used by the public.
​
According to Eslami, products made by the AEOI are used annually by 1.5 million patients or people seeking medical care for diagnostic purposes, while several countries are now destinations for Iran’s nuclear-industry exports.
​
The US and Israel have launched two unprovoked wars against Iran since June 2025 that have claimed the lives of thousands of civilians.

Since taking office in late July 2024, the administration has faced a series of security challenges and has increasingly emphasized “active deterrence” in response to regional tensions and Israeli actions. Against this backdrop, it has viewed defense spending not merely as a current expense but as a strategic investment aimed at safeguarding political and economic stability.

The administration has pursued a combination of strategic realism and reliance on indigenous military technology, maintaining that stronger defense capabilities can provide a secure environment for economic growth. President Pezeshkian has repeatedly stressed the need to maintain the readiness of Iran’s Armed Forces and pledged support for defense modernization, logistical assistance and the development of operational infrastructure.

In one such instance, the president said his administration would support programs to strengthen the country’s deterrence capabilities. An example is the US, where public debt is rising in the wake of the imposed war on Iran, creating challenges for the Trump administration, whose inability to achieve political objectives through military pressure on Iran, including over the Strait of Hormuz, has caused public backlash and also highlighted the limits of military power when confronted with determined resistance.

Against this backdrop, the Pezeshkian administration’s defense policy is presented as a “smart defense doctrine” centered on three priorities: safeguarding national security, advancing indigenous defense technologies and creating synergy between military power and diplomacy. Strengthening defense capabilities is not aimed at military expansion, but is viewed as a strategic investment in national security, stability and sustainable development.

Ghashghavi told reporters that the commission continued its review of the plan during the session, finalizing Article 3, which had been pending in the previous meeting.

“Under Article 3, fees will be charged for services including maritime, environmental, fuel supply in special conditions, insurance, safety, and other services provided in the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.

The fees, Ghashghavi emphasized, will be collected from ships of permitted countries in Iranian Rials or any other currency deemed appropriate by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ghashghavi also highlighted the importance of respecting the rights of coastal states bordering the Strait of Hormuz, adding, “This plan, while recognizing the freedom of navigation in accordance with international laws and regulations, also emphasizes respect for the security of coastal countries and their sovereignty, and the prevention of violations of these rights.”

He further noted that the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz have their own specific rules and conditions.

In this regard, he cited Oman, which, after accepting the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, immediately issued a political statement emphasizing that the convention’s provisions should not violate the country’s national sovereignty and security.

🌍 President honors martyred Iranian statesmen as he marks Government Week

📌 Tehran, IRNA – President Masoud Pezeshkian, on the beginning of Government Week, has honored and expressed deep appreciation for wives and families of 20 martyred Iranian statesmen, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country.

In separate messages on Sunday, Pezeshkian honored the martyrs and remembered the valuable roles they played for the nation in different fields, saying they would remain immortal in Iran's governance system.

He said all the precious martyrs— above all, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei ­— as well as the martyrs of the government, would remain in the hearts of the Iranians for their commendable and unparalleled efforts in leading the pillars of Iran's sacred system and for their honest and selfless service to the nation.

The messages were addressed to the families of Mohammad Javad Tondgoyan, Aziz Nasirzadeh, Rahman Dadman, Esmaeil Khatib, Mohammad Ali Rajaee, Rostam Ghasemi, Mohammad-Javad Bahonar, Mostafa Chamran, Mohammad-Ali Fayyazbakhsh, Mousa Namjoo, Javad Fakouri, Hassan Abbaspour Tehrani-Fard, Mahmoud Ghandi, Ali Ardeshir Larijani, Kamal Kharrazi, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Ali Shamkhani, Musa Kalantari, Ali Akbar Salimi Jahromi, and Ebrahim Raisi.

While honoring these martyrs and renewing allegiance to their lofty ideals, Pezeshkian prayed for divine mercy on them and expressed gratitude to their noble families for their patience, forbearance, and steadfastness in the absence of their loved ones.

The president further emphasized that the name and path of honorable martyrs would remain the guiding light of the Islamic Republic, calling them a valuable and eternal asset for national dignity, solidarity, and unity.

🌍 Friendship associations can support Iran’s public diplomacy: Foreign Ministry spokesperson

📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has highlighted the role of friendship associations and civil society organizations in strengthening Iran’s public diplomacy and expanding people-to-people ties, announcing plans to establish a working group with activists in the field within the next two months.

Speaking at a meeting marking the national week of civil society organizations and social participation on Sunday, Baqaei said non-governmental organizations were both a product of a strong civil society and an important force for its further development. He noted that many such groups, particularly friendship associations, maintain links with international communities even when their activities are primarily domestic.

Baqaei described friendship associations as valuable partners for the Foreign Ministry in both formal diplomacy and public diplomacy. He said the ministry would share its experience with civil society activists and seek greater coordination with them on international issues.
​
He also stressed the importance of documenting environmental damage resulting from recent US and Israeli military aggressions against Iran and raising international awareness about their consequences, arguing that environmental impacts extend beyond national borders.
​
The spokesperson said Iranian NGOs could also help present the country’s positions internationally on issues including sanctions and violations of international humanitarian law. He added that the Foreign Ministry could facilitate their participation in international forums, including UN Human Rights Council sessions, where appropriate.
​
Baqaei further said NGOs could contribute to documenting criminal attacks in Minab and Lamerd for historical records and potential presentation to domestic and international judicial bodies. He maintained that civil society organizations could help communicate Iran’s experiences and perspectives to global public opinion.

He emphasized that friendship associations also contribute to people-to-people relations and can provide valuable cultural and diplomatic links with communities abroad. According to Baqaei, identifying these capacities and using them more effectively would strengthen Iran’s public diplomacy and broaden the country’s international outreach.

🔻 Iran rejects interference by two French diplomats

📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has said the interventionist conduct of two French diplomats in Iran is completely unacceptable.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Baqaei said Iran promptly responded after determining that the French Embassy in Tehran had exceeded its diplomatic mandate, violated the provisions of the Vienna Convention and engaged in interference in Iran’s domestic affairs.

He said Iran had officially announced that the two diplomats involved in such activities must leave the country and would not be allowed to return.
​
Relations between countries, including Iran and France, must be based on mutual respect and adherence to international law, including the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states, he added.
​
“Accordingly, Iran regulates its relations with all countries, and whenever necessary, issues warnings and takes the required measures,” Baqaei noted.
​
He said France’s subsequent action was unjustifiable, describing it as a reaction to a completely legal measure taken by Iran in accordance with international law. Such actions, he added, would be detrimental to the continuation of Iran-France relations.
​
On August 18, Iran’s Foreign Ministry declared two French diplomats working at the French Embassy in Tehran persona non grata.
​
The move came a few days after Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said the two diplomats had taken part in a secret meeting in Tehran in July with suspects in a major case involving foreign infiltration and interference. The Foreign Ministry said the diplomats’ activities had violated international law, particularly the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

💬 President Pezeshkian: Iran’s unity surprised world, foiled adversaries’ plans

📌 Tehran, IRNA — President Masoud Pezeshkian has praised the Iranian people for maintaining national unity amid an unequal military, economic and security confrontation, saying the country’s resilience had surprised the world and frustrated its enemies’ plans.

Speaking at the beginning of Government Week on Sunday, the president said Iran had faced continuous war, sanctions, pressure, and assassinations since his administration took office in July 2024. He said adversaries had expected Iran to collapse under pressure, but the country instead demonstrated greater strength, solidarity and resilience.

He pointed to statements by US President Donald Trump regarding the imposition of the most severe sanctions on Iran, saying Tehran had remained committed to serving its people and overcoming the economic difficulties.

Pressure has failed to break national resolve

Pezeshkian said the recent memorandum of understanding reached after lengthy discussions reflected an expert consensus among military personnel, security officials and government authorities. He said the framework was based on the principles of expediency, dignity and wisdom, emphasizing that Iran’s resistance had been made possible by cooperation among institutions and society.

He also said Iran’s adversaries are pursuing an economic war alongside military and security pressure. According to President Pezeshkian, foreign pressure has included efforts to persuade Muslim governments not to conduct economic transactions with Iran in an attempt to force Tehran into submission.
​
He stressed that the confrontation should not be viewed solely as an exchange of missiles, arguing that economic pressure and attempts to undermine Iran’s internal cohesion were also components of the broader conflict. He praised Iranian citizens, including those critical of the government, for standing together during the crisis.
​
He called for national unity and coordinated decision-making, saying Iran’s strength depends on solidarity, consultation, expertise, and adherence to national leadership. He argued that once a decision is reached through proper discussion, all sides should support and implement it consistently.
​
The president also warned that Iran’s adversaries were seeking to exploit economic and social difficulties to create divisions inside the country. He pledged that the government would work to prevent polarization and address inflation and livelihood concerns despite external pressure.

He called for a nationwide effort to overcome the country’s challenges, saying Iran needs practical action, not advice. President Pezeshkian thanked the Armed Forces and the Iranian people for their resilience and vowed to continue serving the country while defending national dignity and unity.

🌍 Pezeshkian administration backed Armed Forces during 12-day and 40-day wars

📌 Tehran, IRNA – The administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian has sought to place the country’s executive capacities at the service of national defense during the 12-day and 40-day wars, emphasizing support for the Armed Forces, national unity, and the continuity of essential services.

The administration’s approach extended beyond political statements, with officials stressing the need to maintain economic activity, public services and infrastructure while the Armed Forces were engaged in military operations.

Pezeshkian has repeatedly described support for the Armed Forces as a responsibility of his administration. “Defending the country’s Armed Forces is my duty,” he said after the 12-day war.
​
The president has also emphasized national unity, saying that Iran’s resistance during the war brought together the people, Armed Forces, and government. He said the country’s enemies failed to achieve their objectives despite targeting military commanders, nuclear scientists, and infrastructure.

Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref likewise highlighted the role of the Defense Ministry and the country’s defense sector during the 12-day war, saying they had played “a special role” and that Iran possessed significant defense capabilities.

Aref also called for shortcomings in the country’s air-defense capabilities, particularly cybersecurity, to be addressed, indicating that the administration’s support for the Armed Forces was intended to include strengthening defense capabilities and addressing weaknesses.

The administration also sought to keep the country’s economic and administrative machinery operating during both wars. Officials stressed the importance of maintaining supplies, transportation, energy, healthcare, communications, and other essential services to prevent military pressure from developing into a wider domestic crisis.

In a September 2025 meeting with Pezeshkian and members of his cabinet, the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, praised administration officials and employees who had served during the 12-day war. He specifically commended government bodies that had “truly sacrificed” during the war and praised Pezeshkian’s motivation, morale, and hard work.

The late Leader also stressed the need to strengthen the components of national power and dignity and praised cooperation among the heads of the three branches of government.

The experience of the two wars demonstrated that national defense extends beyond the battlefield. While the Armed Forces carried out military defense, the administration sought to ensure that the country’s economic, administrative, and public-service systems remained operational, turning political support for the Armed Forces into a broader responsibility of governance.

📌 Tehran, IRNA – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Major General Mohsen Rezaei whilr emphasizing that any country participating in the US-led economic blockade will face consequences, and warned that if the blockade persists, not a single drop of Persian Gulf oil will be allowed to leave via any route.

He reiterated that furthermore, while Iran has not yet targeted the US economic interests, that option remains available should such hostile actions continue.
