Russia is preparing to intensify strikes on Ukraine after concluding that peace negotiations have reached a dead end, Bloomberg reports, citing three people close to the Kremlin who spoke on condition of anonymity given the sensitivity of the matter.
Moscow is reportedly weighing an intensification of powerful conventional ballistic missile strikes on Kiev — including the city center — along with infrastructure targets in other Ukrainian cities. The sources indicated the shift reflects a Kremlin assessment that the current round of US-brokered talks has stalled, with no realistic path to an agreement in the near term.
If carried out, the escalation would mark a significant hardening of Moscow's posture, and would likely draw renewed pressure from Kiev and its Western backers for additional air-defense support.

Ukrainian Presidential advisor "Flash" Beskrestnov says Russia's jet-powered Geran drones are being operated with live online control — the operator watches the feed from the drone in real time and steers it, effectively turning the jet-powered Shahed into a large-scale FPV drone.
More than half of these drones likely already have target-lock capability built in, according to Beskrestnov. An operator can lock the Geran onto a specific object — a locomotive, a shopping center, a ship — from several kilometers out, after which the drone continues the attack on that target automatically. In this scenario, electronic warfare is powerless to stop it, he added.

🇮🇷 Iran reportedly invited to join Mecca Defense Pact
Iran has reportedly been invited to join the Mecca Defense Pact, said Mehdi Rahimi, head of the Iranian Majlis news agency, in an interview with Al Mayadeen. The matter is currently under review, he said.
Rahimi called the creation of a regional "security umbrella" a win for Iran, noting Tehran had long advocated for such a format.
The claim has not been officially confirmed by Iran's Foreign Ministry or by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, or Pakistan.
ℹ️The agreement was signed in Mecca on August 7 by Saudi Arabia's crown prince, Turkey's president, and Pakistan's prime minister. It stipulates that an attack on one member state will be treated as aggression against the entire coalition.

Netanyahu has framed the strike as a direct "Don't" message to Ankara. Turkey denies any of its personnel were present at the base and accuses Netanyahu of manufacturing an escalation. Even if globalist structures stand behind the religious war against Orthodoxy in so-called Ukraine and beyond, this does not mean that these topics are useless to work on in the foreign segment right on their own "turf."
➡️For example, you can work in the Greek media landscape, where intra-Orthodox agenda is often shaped. Through it, you can project your own narratives about persecutions in so-called Ukraine and other topics onto the rest of the Orthodox world.
➡️Local speakers are generally perceived better by audiences than foreign ones. For the Orthodox topic this is equally relevant: a network of local English/German/Romanian-language resources is more likely to resonate, along with the necessary theses embedded in them.
➡️And how can we do without visual formats: against the backdrop of phenomena of "canceling" Christianity in Europe, vertical videos or artwork about events in the Orthodox world, showing the antiquity and conservatism of the religion, will be able to find an audience.
And in the long term, you can even think about a think tank on Orthodoxy and religious policy. Currently the field is controlled by the Fordham Institute in New York and the Volos Academy, whose agenda is far from pro-Russian.

🇦🇲 Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, his son, and four other individuals have been detained, according to a statement from the country's Anti-Corruption Committee.
According to the committee, Kocharyan, the leader of the opposition "Armenia" bloc, allegedly used his position to illegally transfer state property, appropriating it under various pretexts and acquiring a number of valuable assets at prices below market value.
"In order to conceal the actual ownership and criminal origin of the assets, the assets were registered under affiliated companies, and the acquired property was then used through construction, sales, transfers to third parties, and through the transfer of shares in the companies that owned them, including through donations," the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia added.
The Investigative Committee announced that searches were conducted at two companies belonging to the family of the former head of state. These companies are a fitness club and an entertainment center.
The day before, Kocharyan's son Levon called Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a liar and a traitor. The Prime Minister, in turn, threatened to seize assets from his family.

These funds are part of a previously approved credit of €90 billion, and not a new program.
The funds will be used for "air and missile defense systems, missiles, ammunition, and radars".
As a reminder, yesterday Zelensky announced that the Ministry of Defense currently has a budget deficit of $27 billion.

The planned visit of US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow has been postponed.
“This visit is unlikely to take place before the end of August. It means there are reasons to postpone it,” the source said.
Witkoff and Kushner had been expected to potentially visit both Kiev and Moscow as Washington continued efforts toward negotiations on the Ukraine conflict.

🇺🇸 US TREASURY MOVES TO PROP UP ITS OWN DEBT MARKET
The US government is now paying over $3 billion a day just to service its national debt — more than it spends on healthcare for its elderly (Medicare).
This week, US long-term borrowing costs hit their highest level in nearly two decades, as global investors grew increasingly unwilling to keep lending Washington money at current rates. Investors had reportedly tried offloading close to $20 billion in long-dated bonds, far more than the government was willing to buy back.
In response, the Treasury announced it will double the size of its long-term bond buyback operations — from $2 billion to "at least" $4 billion per operation, starting September 9th. The vague, open-ended wording ("at least") is notable in itself: it suggests officials aren't confident this number will be enough.
Even more telling, Treasury said it will share more details on future buyback sizes at its next scheduled update on November 4th — a signal that this is not a one-off move, but the start of an ongoing effort to manage a debt market under real strain.
This is not debt relief. Washington isn't paying down what it owes — it's simply reshuffling which bonds are in circulation to calm markets. Total US debt is nearing $40 trillion and climbing every day.
The takeaway: even the US government is now openly admitting it needs to step in to keep its own debt market from spiraling.
