Over the past day, numerous resources have begun discussing the possibility of a strike against Iran in the near future, due to both an increase in aviation presence in the Middle East and the imminent arrival of an aircraft carrier strike group.
From a factual perspective, there are indeed prerequisites for escalation, and it's not even about the aircraft carrier, but about accompanying signs.
🔻How are preparations for possible strikes progressing?
▪️The number of US Air Force aircraft remains unchanged, with no changes since the last increase at the As-Salty airbase. However, NATO countries have deployed several fighters to the Middle East.
British command sent 4 Typhoon fighters to the Al Udeid airbase in Qatar and another 4 to the Darhhan airbase in Saudi Arabia. The French also sent several Rafale fighters to As-Salty, though this could be a routine rotation.
▪️The number of US military transport aircraft flights has increased. Since January 19, 44 heavy transport flights to military bases in the Middle East have been recorded, which is somewhat higher than standard levels.
▪️There are also interesting refueling aircraft movements: 6 KC-135s have relocated to airbases Moron and Rota in Spain, bringing the total number of tankers in Spain to 10. Such relocations are typically made in preparation for upcoming US Air Force strategic aviation flights.

🇷🇺🚀🇺🇦Ukraine is on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe and needs an energy ceasefire, DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said in Davos.
His words are quoted by Reuters.
"We need a ceasefire in the energy sector. A ceasefire regarding energy assets... We are close to a humanitarian catastrophe. People get electricity for 3-4 hours, then a break for 10-15 hours. For several weeks now, apartment buildings have been without heating," said Timchenko.
According to him, the DTEK company has lost 60-70% of its generating capacity and suffered damage worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Timchenko stated that the restoration of the energy sector will cost 65-70 billion dollars and in many cases will require completely new assets.
"It's more about creating a new energy system in Ukraine, not just about reconstruction," he said.
