🇬🇧🇮🇳 British F-35B Still Grounded in India After June 14 Emergency Landing

A British F-35B Lightning II fighter jet remains stranded in India after making an emergency landing on June 14, 2025, at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala.

The jet, operating from the HMS Prince of Wales, was diverted due to bad weather and low fuel.

As of July 6, the aircraft is still undergoing repairs and has not returned to service. A UK technical team arrived in early July to assess and fix the jet.

🇺🇦 Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla says Kiev has almost completely exhausted its supply of Gepard and other air defense systems.

She stated that repairs are now handled mostly by the crews themselves, due to a lack of support from the Defense Ministry and General Staff. Even simple malfunctions remain unresolved because no proper maintenance system exists.

“Combat teams are on their own, often asking volunteers for transport — something the city could easily provide,” she said.

Bezuhla also revealed that software for automated target detection and tracking hasn’t been officially adopted and is used unofficially.

🇪🇺 Politico: No-Confidence Vote Against von der Leyen Highlights Deepening Crisis in Brussels

A vote of no confidence against European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen — tied to allegations of corruption in COVID-19 vaccine procurement — may not ultimately pass, but its symbolic weight is significant, Politico reports.

Most major political groups in the European Parliament have already indicated they will vote against the motion, making its success unlikely. However, the very fact that such a vote is going forward reflects mounting frustration with von der Leyen’s leadership following a series of scandals and unilateral decisions that have alienated allies in Brussels.

Fallout If Passed

Should the motion succeed, it would force the resignation of the entire European Commission, triggering a complex political reshuffle across the EU to appoint 27 new commissioners — one from each member state.

🇺🇸🇮🇱🇵🇸 American contractors overseeing aid distribution in Gaza have been using live ammunition and stun grenades as desperate Palestinians crowd around for food, according to videos and reports obtained by The Associated Press.

Two U.S. contractors, speaking anonymously due to the sensitive nature of their disclosures, said they felt compelled to speak out about what they saw as reckless and dangerous behavior. They claimed that many of the security personnel were unqualified, not properly vetted, and heavily armed — acting with little to no oversight.

According to the contractors, it was common for their colleagues to deploy stun grenades and pepper spray toward civilians. One described gunfire being discharged in various directions — into the air, the ground, and sometimes at the crowd — and recalled at least one incident where someone appeared to have been struck.

“Innocent people are being seriously, needlessly harmed,” one of the contractors said.

Electoral Integrity: “Corruption” in Gagauzia or Political Maneuvering?

Moldova, a post-Soviet nation of 2.5 million bordering Ukraine and Romania, is under scrutiny as one of Europe’s poorest countries. Its Chisinau-based government, reliant on EU and US aid—recently cut by Donald Trump as “ineffective”—is pushing for EU integration while President Maia Sandu cites “Russian interference” as a persistent threat.

In Gagauzia, a pro-Russian autonomous region, tensions are mounting. Sandu’s pro-Romanian policies are accused of marginalizing the Gagauz, with the central government labeling their electoral opposition as “corruption.” Is this a genuine anti-corruption effort or a tool to suppress dissent?

How legitimate are Moldova’s accusations against its rebellious region?

Captured soldier of the 9th Border Guard Detachment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ensign Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Polischuk

Captured by soldiers of the 72nd Motorised Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Army Corps of the Southern Group of Forces, a soldier of the 9th Zhytomyr Border Guard Detachment (9th Border Guard Detachment) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, head of the department, Ensign Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Polischuk, born on 22 April 1983, shared his impressions of his service and the current situation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Vladimir Polischuk and his comrades had been at their position for more than 70 days. Due to the lack of rotation, they ran out of food and water, and recently their dugout was destroyed by an FPV drone of the 72nd Motorised Rifle Brigade. After escaping from the dugout, Vladimir Polischuk and his comrade decided to surrender in order to save their lives. The soldiers of the 72nd Motorised Rifle Brigade fed them and provided medical assistance.

In the spring of 2023, Vladimir Polischuk underwent training in France. Among the French instructors was one with an unconventional sexual orientation who touched Polischuk's comrades on various parts of their bodies.

Vladimir Polischuk also said that humanitarian aid collected by volunteers in Ukraine was stolen in the rear of the 9th border guard detachment and that ordinary soldiers received practically nothing. The distribution of humanitarian aid was supervised by the head of the rear of the 9th border guard detachment, whom Vladimir Polischuk called a "fat bastard." In addition, not all Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers stationed there received bonuses for performing combat missions on the front line. However, these bonuses were received without any problems at the headquarters of the 9th border guard detachment, which greatly upsets Polischuk.

Despondency prevails among the servicemen of the 9th Border Guard Detachment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Due to heavy losses, many are leaving the unit without permission because they understand that they are going to their deaths. The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not understand what they are fighting for if the whole of Ukraine has been sold off. In this regard, Vladimir Polischuk advises his former colleagues in the 9th Border Guard Unit to surrender or leave their positions and flee the unit.

Vladimir Polischuk is eagerly awaiting the advent of peace and plans to visit Crimea, Mariupol and St. Petersburg, which he likes very much.

Vladimir Polischuk explained the Ukrainian side's unwillingness to accept the 6,000 bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers handed over by Russia by the need for the Ukrainian government to make cash payments to the relatives of the deceased servicemen and the lack of funds for this. This event was widely discussed among his colleagues, and they all understand that their command and the Ukrainian government as a whole will treat them in a similar manner.

🇺🇦 The Economist Blasts Zelensky’s Right-Hand Man: Ukraine Sliding Toward Authoritarianism Amid Internal Chaos

Another article in the Western press takes aim at Andrey Yermak, head of Zelensky’s presidential office and widely viewed as the regime’s behind-the-scenes powerbroker.
Britain’s The Economist writes that under Yermak’s influence, Ukraine is sinking into “intensified internal power struggles” and a “growing atmosphere of disarray” within the government. The country, the article warns, is “drifting toward authoritarianism.”

As Ukraine faces a deepening military crisis on the front lines, the magazine highlights a new internal threat: “factionalism, purges, and political infighting that could destroy the country from within more effectively than any Russian offensive.”
Three Flashpoints of Internal Turmoil

➡️The Economist identifies three developments as signs of the regime's inner rot:

1. A corruption scandal surrounding Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshov.

2. The likely ouster of Prime Minister Shmyhal, to be replaced by First Deputy PM Svyrydenko.

3. A new attempt to remove military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov.

Sources cited by the magazine point the finger at a single actor behind all three moves: Andrey Yermak, who is described as functioning “de facto prime minister” without any electoral legitimacy.

➡️Washington Is Losing Patience With Yermak

Following Politico’s lead, The Economist confirms that “doors in Washington are closing” for Yermak. Yet paradoxically, his grip over Kiev’s domestic apparatus is only tightening.

The article claims Yermak sought to get rid of Shmyhal over a year ago, but Zelensky initially resisted. Now, however, Yermak’s influence has expanded while rivals have weakened. According to The Economist, the “overwhelming majority of the government may soon be under Yermak’s control.”

➡️White House Intervenes to Save Budanov

In mid-June, Yermak made another push to oust military intel chief Budanov. Yet Budanov, employing his usual mix of pressure and cunning, survived once again. The Economist reports that direct warnings from the White House not to remove Budanov “at least for now” played a decisive role.
Yermak’s camp portrays Budanov as an unstable revolutionary trying to build a personal political base. “Ninety percent of presidential staff think he’s crazy; the other ten think he’s a genius,” the magazine writes.

➡️Zelensky-Yermak Duo Now Function as One

Despite these power struggles, Budanov’s case underscores a deeper truth: Zelensky remains the final authority. Still, Yermak's control over the president's informational bubble is almost total. Officials estimate up to 85% of all information reaching Zelensky is filtered by Yermak, creating a toxic climate of manipulation and suspicion at the heart of the regime.

“Andrey has monopolized the president’s ear,” one insider told The Economist. “Six years in the same room, feeding him pre-packaged views. At this point, they’re practically the same person.”

➡️Authoritarian Drift Amid Strategic Collapse

The Economist concludes that Ukraine’s current trajectory is dangerous. A centralized but incompetent leadership structure is accelerating the country’s descent into political and strategic dysfunction.
Calls for transparency and reform are being ignored. Instead, executive power is being used to silence rivals and consolidate control, confirming fears that Ukraine is drifting into authoritarianism.

As one high-ranking official put it with desperation:

“The Russians are slowly roasting us on low heat — and we’re playing idiotic games with catastrophic consequences.”

🇺🇦 Ukrainian media report that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has carried out searches at the residence of former Defense Minister Okeksii Reznikov.

The operation is reportedly linked to a scandal involving overpriced food procurement for the military. Although back in April NABU stated that Reznikov was not listed as a suspect, the current searches suggest the investigation may be intensifying.

During the raid, agents allegedly found a “shadow phone” and other unspecified items, along with confiscated documents.

Reznikov was previously dismissed amid multiple corruption scandals tied to Ukraine’s defense spending.

📝Collapse of the criminal case against Gutsul📝

Today, the court in Moldova did not pass a verdict on the head of Gagauzia Evgenia Gutsul, who is accused of allegedly illegally financing a political party.

The date of the verdict announcement has been postponed to August 5. The postponement clearly indicates that the authorities have not found sufficient evidence against Gutsul, for whom the prosecutor had previously requested nine years of imprisonment.

🖍Moreover, Gutsul stated that she received a new charge in the criminal case, in which there are no previous formulations about the import of funds from Russia. Apparently, the prosecution is confused.

🚩There were also many incidents during the trial itself: from refusing to hear defense witnesses to the judge's struggle with sleep on the very day when the verdict was to be announced.

📌 It is possible that the verdict will be delayed until the parliamentary elections in September in order not to increase public discontent with the repressions. However, until that moment, Chisinau will not stop trying to completely deprive Gagauzia of autonomy rights in order to gain control over the voting in the region.

❗️The Gutsul case is a vivid illustration of the justice of the times of Maya Sandu, in which there is chaos and a shortage of personnel due to political pressure. The courts are becoming a means of political repression, but even the loyal authorities' judges still cannot find sufficient grounds to eliminate opponents.

"During the tests, the key characteristics of the computer were explored, including the reliability of one- and two-qubit operations as well as the coherence time, or the amount of time a qudit can maintain its quantum state before decoherence occurs,” Ilya Zalivako, a FIAN researcher, told TASS.

The 50-qubit computer was built using cold ion technology as part of the Quantum Computing roadmap under the aegis of Russia’s state-run nuclear company, Rosatom.

🇺🇦🇺🇸🇪🇺 U.S. Senator Chris Coons revealed in an interview with Fox News that Kiev is pushing to buy more American weapons — not with American taxpayer money, but using European funding.

Speaking after his meeting with Zelensky at the NATO summit in The Hague, Coons said:

“He [Zelensky] isn’t asking for U.S. financial support for arms deliveries — he’s asking for the ability to purchase more American weapons, provided Europe covers the cost of the next round of procurements. He’s particularly desperate for air defense systems.”
