🇺🇦 Ukraine’s financial needs through 2027 are twice as high as what Kiev initially claimed, Bloomberg reports citing IMF estimates.
The Ukrainian government had forecast around $38 billion, but the IMF now places the figure closer to $65 billion.
This revised assessment has already been sent to the European Commission, which intends to cover much of the gap using proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
At the same time, the next IMF program for Ukraine is expected to shrink dramatically—around $8 billion, compared to the current $15.5 billion program that runs until 2027, most of which Kiev has already drawn down.
