🏠 Housing affordability has rarely been worse:

94 million American households cannot afford a $400,000 home, according to a National Association of Home Builders analysis.

By comparison, the estimated median price of a new house is ~$460,000.

To put this differently, 70% of US households cannot afford a typical-priced home.

Concerningly, ~53 million households cannot even afford a house priced at $200,000 or more.

Meanwhile, there are only 22.4 million houses in the US valued at less than $200,000.

We have a massive housing imbalance.

In a long Facebook post, Lulea thanks the 5.2 million Romanians who voted for George Simion, admitting defeat in the process.

He thanks all AUR members for their efforts but says that Romania is a “politically captured state” where the law is “not applied to everyone equally”.

Lulea then praises George Simion for his leadership and for his ability to inspire confidence. He also thanks Călin Georgescu for the support he offered to AUR and Simion.

Lulea promises to continue to fight for the traditional, Christian, conservative Romanians in the future.

China has issued export permits to at least four rare earth magnet producers including suppliers to Volkswagen, the German carmaker said, the first granted since Beijing restricted shipments last month and a sign that the critical materials will continue to flow.

Baotou Tianhe Magnetics which makes the magnets used in electric and hybrid car motors, received a licence for Volkswagen in late April. Zhongke Sanhuan received at least one permit. Baotou INST Magnetic and Earth-Panda Advanced Magnetic Material were also granted at least one permit

The permits were issued before the trade war truce agreed with Washington on Monday, which industry sources said is likely to make it easier for US customers to win approvals.

International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan was placed under U.S. sanctions by the Trump administration in February 2025, as part of an effort to coerce the court into halting investigations of Israeli abuses in Gaza.

His official Microsoft email account has been disabled, and his UK bank accounts frozen. Additionally, all 900 ICC staff members have been banned from entering the United States, accused of pursuing “illegitimate” investigations into alleged war crimes committed by Israel.

The U.S. government has threatened that any individual or organisation providing Khan with financial, material, or technological assistance could face fines or imprisonment.

Two U.S. based human rights organisations have confirmed they’ve ended cooperation with the ICC. One senior official noted that staff are now actively avoiding communication with court officials, citing fear of government retaliation.
