Lockheed Martin describes the Golden Dome as a next-generation shield against ballistic missiles, hypersonics, and drone swarms. It forms part of a $27 billion proposal within a broader $150 billion Republican defence package tied to Trump’s tax legislation.

The system may involve Lockheed’s Sentinel A4 radar, F-35 integration, and a space-based layer led by SpaceX, which plans hundreds of tracking and armed satellites. Elon Musk has proposed a subscription model with private-sector ownership.

The project is in early stages, with no confirmed deployment timeline.

⚡🇮🇳 India signed a $7.4 billion contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the purchase of 156 "Prachand" domestic light attack helicopters. 90 of them will go to the Army and 66 for the Airforce.

The Prachand will improve ground attack at higher altitude. The first helicopters are expected to be delivered in 3 years.

A ceasefire agreement was reached as a result of these contacts and has now gone into effect, approximately 40 mins ago.

Jumblatt called for addressing the situation based on state authority and the unity of Syria with all its components.

A delegation of sheikhs and prominent figures is working on a final formula to prevent renewed clashes.

His statement stressed that the fighting only serves the Israeli enemy.

⚡✍️Introduction to hypersonics:
Since Putin unveiling of the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal and other "miracle weapons" during an infamous speech in March 1 2018, hypersonic missiles have come under the spotlight and become a massive buzzword. But what are we talking about exactly ?

•"Hypersonic" in physics.
An object is considered travelling at hypersonic speeds when the friction is high enough to ionize the local atmosphere. This tends to happen at Mach 5 (~6000km/h).

•"Hypersonic" in the military domain. A missile is considered hypersonic (the adjective) when its speed exceeds Mach 5.
Almost all ballistic missiles reach this speed during their terminal phase. Even the first ballistic missiles (the German V-2) reached hypersonic speeds.

•"Hypersonic" as a missile category.
Hypersonic can also be used to designate a missile category, they are emerging technologies and deserve their attention.
There are 2 types of "hypersonic missile": the hypersonic boost/glide vehicle, and the hypersonic cruise missile. The later is the easiest to explain:

•Hypersonic cruise missiles:
Their trajectory will be similar to subsonic cruise missiles but will cover the distance to the target in a much smaller time, this will hypothetically make their interception extremely difficult.

•Hypersonic boost/glide vehicle is an extension of the ballistic missile technology. Instead of travelling to its target along a predictable flightpath like typical ballistic missiles, the boost/glide vehicle will separate from its rocket booster and lower altitude and then glide, unpowered, in the higher layers of the atmosphere at extreme speeds. This allows it to manoeuver in its glide phase making its interception even more difficult.
