The festive season is approaching, are you starting to feel it in the air ❄? If not yet, we invite you to join us on our Christmas and New Year’s special meeting, after which festive mood is guaranteed to everyone🎄!
To make it truly special, we are going to have a dress code (Christmas jumpers, Santa hats etc) and there will be a special prize for the best costume 🎁 Also, on this meeting all the participants will have a great mission of incorporating New Year’s theme into their speeches and the bravest of them will be receiving presents from Santa (it could be you!)🎅🏼
We have even appointed our President to be our Cake Master 🍪, to ensure that we get to try traditional British Christmas snacks, that she brought with her from London 🇬🇧
Don't miss our last meeting during this year, as you’ll have to wait over a month for the next one!
We are meeting at our usual venue, the American Center of The State Library for Foreign Literature on Tuesday December, 18th at 6:50 p.m.

According to Guinnes World Records, the longest ever speech marathon was held by Nepalian speaker Ananta Ram KC and it lasted for 90 hours and 2 minutes. To put it in perspective, it is longer than the duration of all episodes of the famous sitcom Friends combined...
Our next meeting is also a speech marathon, but don't worry, we are not going to make you listen to one long speech. A speech marathon in Toastmasters means that the whole meeting consists of many prepared speeches with standart time limitations. It's like TED event, but a little bit better ;-), at least anyone can attend it for free, you only need to register.

On the 6th of November Worldsurfers toastmasters club 🇷🇺 held Humorous Speech Contest! The winner is Gaya Oganesian, Ivan Shileaev took the second place. They both will represent WorldSurfers at the Area Level! And Emile Khalikov won the third place. 👏🏼
On the 7th of November Almaty Toastmasters 🇰🇿 had a guest speaker Cynthia Leung with her speech “Building a career out of a passion and vision”. Cynthia is a Techwomen mentor, Solar Project developer and sustainability expert from San Francisco. 👌🏼
On the 3 of November Astana Toastmasters 🇰🇿 club had a guest speaker - an Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kazakhstan, Mr. Mosud Mannan with his speech about “Effective Communication”✅
Today on the 10th November NU Toastmasters 🇰🇿 has a guest speaker - South African Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Ms KST Mathews. Her speech is dedicated to the topic of the meeting “Decade of peace, in memory of Nelson Mandela” 🕊
Toastmasters Winter Conference is happy to present our guest speaker from the UK, public speaking trainer and coach Alex De Jong, ACB, CL with his workshop “Pitching in Business”.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Originally from Bristol, England; Alex became the youngest-ever UK District Champion in 2015 and is a seasoned competitor in Toastmaster as well as occasionally dabbling in stand up comedy. Alex makes it his mission to help people connect on a deep level so that their voices are heard. He uses his Toastmasters skills every day to help executives, employees and entrepreneurs so that they don't crash and burn; instead their speeches create sparks and fireworks, they adopt a winning mindset and create a WOW every time they open their mouths to speak. Communication is Alex’s passion. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, Alex became a corporate refugee and runs his own consultancy, training, speaking, and coaching business in Vienna at www.alex-dejong.com

She is passionate about event organization and sharing ideas worth spreading.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Lukas Liebich is Project & Program Manager and Soft-skill trainer. He is crazy about Toastmasters and since July 2018 he has been working as Program Quality Director for District 110 (Wild East of Europe) supporting clubs in providing outstanding experience to their members. Lukas has a special skill of staying calm when others panic - the skill many wish they had, because just his presence gets many people nervous: he has a little black journal where he records all the brilliant / awkward things they say. There is an audiobook to which he listened to 5 times over: Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday. Lukas loves travelling around Europe to deliver his trainings as he enjoys meeting interesting and motivated people - exactly the sort you get among Toastmasters!

Did you know that according to the report published by United Nations the most happy country in the world in 2018 is Finland? Russia holds only 59th position and what’s more worrying is that our country lost 10 positions since 2017.
Why our close neighbours are so happy and we are not? What should we do to increase our happiness?
We probably wouldn't answer this difficult question, but we will discuss this interesting condition of our mind at the upcoming meeting "Happiness takes no account of time".
We are meeting at our usual venue, the American Center of State Library of Foreign Literature on Tuesday August 14th at 6:50 p.m.
