📣 We are selecting the next cryptocurrency to add to @wallet
We recently added the ability to buy, exchange, and trade Bitcoin within the @wallet web interface. Your feedback in the comments was great and many of you shared which cryptocurrency you’d like to see added in future updates. We carefully read all your suggestions and have narrowed it down to the top six coins you’d like to see next.
It’s now time to cast your vote! Every vote counts, and yours could be the deciding factor. If your favorite coin isn’t on the list, feel free to suggest it in the comments below. 💻
👛 Your @wallet team
💰 Test your knowledge for the chance to win some TON!
We recently discussed how you can tell apart the real @wallet from a fake. If you haven’t managed to read our post yet, go check it out now! In order to consolidate your understanding and help you learn some new ways to protect yourself from scammers, we’re going to be giving away 15 TON to three lucky subscribers.
How can you get involved?
It’s very easy! We’re going to present you with a hypothetical situation, and you’re going to tell us what you would do. Write your answers in the comments below this post. We will select the three most useful comments and give 5 TON to each of the authors next week!
Situation:
One morning, you swing by our channel whilst browsing the news. Everything looks normal at first glance — the posts are in their usual places and the channel has a familiar layout. However, something feels off. You notice some subtle changes, such as the latest post having a different timestamp as well as a different number of comments. What is more, the channel admins are asking you to transfer them some crypto with a promise of doubling your deposit. What are you going to do?
💻 Post your answers in the comments below. We will read each one, choose the top three, and send 5 TON each to their @wallet account next week!
🤔 How do you spot scammers?
It usually happens like this: You are added to a group that looks very similar to ours. It has the same kind of posts and photos. There are many followers and even some comments. But something still feels off: the posts are rapidly published one after the other and the commenters seem artificial.
Be careful, this is a scam! There are many people out there who will try to copy our official channels and attempt to deceive our community. Here, we will explain how to tell apart the scammers from the real @wallet.
🔹 Most importantly, the @wallet team will never forcibly add you to any of our channels;
🔹 The link to our channel is available directly in @wallet;
🔹 Never follow suspicious links with the promise of prizes;
By following these simple rules, you can reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim of scammers by up to 80%. However, in order to fully protect yourself 100%, we have prepared a small test on basic security principles. By the way, we will randomly select three participants who successfully complete the test and reward them with 5 TON each. More information about the test will be provided in the next announcement.
💻 In the meantime, please share your own digital hygiene practices in the comments section. We are sure that the community will find them valuable.
@wallet security—How are funds stored?
Did you know that crypto wallets fall into one of two categories: custodial and noncustodial? We’ll explain what this means and how @wallet stores your crypto in this post.
All centralized services—e.g., Binance, OKX, and @wallet—are akin to banks. Naturally, you have access to your funds, but so does your financial institution, which acts as an intermediary that guarantees the security of your money.
When you receive crypto to @wallet, your funds are kept in a general wallet where your assets are secured along with those of hundreds of thousands of other users. This kind of crypto storage or wallet is called “custodial.”
If you’ve ever used Tonkeeper, MetaMask, or Trust Wallet, you’re most likely already acquainted with “noncustodial” wallets. Their main advantage is that third parties have zero access to your funds. You are the only person who has full control over your private keys, which provide full access to your funds.
Although storing crypto in a noncustodial wallet is safe, it's less convenient for day-to-day use. For example, transferring crypto between these kinds of wallets incurs network fees on the blockchain.
Moreover, your crypto in your noncustodial wallet is akin to having bank notes in your wallet: If you lose your wallet (or your private keys), you lose everything.
@wallet is a user-friendly and reliable custodial wallet where you can conveniently and securely store your crypto. Users can send USDT to their friends on Telegram at zero cost.
What are stablecoins?
A stablecoin is a cryptocurrency that is pegged 1:1 to an asset considered to have a stable value. All popular stablecoins (USDT, USDC, BUSD, etc.) are backed by the United States dollar, but some stablecoins are pegged to other currencies and even to the value of gold.
One of the main reasons why integrating crypto into everyday life has been so slow is due to unpredictable price changes. The value of cryptocurrencies depends on many factors and can fluctuate wildly without a moment’s notice.
In order to combat vicissitudes in the crypto markets while staying true to crypto’s central pillars of low transaction fees, transparency, and openness, stablecoins were created.
The advent of stablecoins has lowered the barriers to entry into the crypto world for beginners. Stablecoins are already being used for many use cases, such as buying goods and services, remittances, and storing them in wallets.
Let us know in the comments section how you use stablecoins in your day-to-day life. The people with the most interesting stories will win a prize from the @wallet team.
— React to this post with “🦄” if you can’t wait for @wallet to implement stablecoins!
Selling crypto has become even quicker with @wallet — Users can now trade with one another via Wallet’s P2P Market.
Now you can sell TON and BTC on the P2P Market by selecting one of the advertisements on the trading platform.
To see the list of available advertisements, tap "P2P Market" → "Sell" on the main page of the bot's interface.
You can not only sell cryptocurrency using one of the advertisements on the trading platform but also post your own advertisement to buy. To do this, go to P2P Market → "Create Ad" and select "Buy" in a new window.
Until the end of the month, you can make quick sales without service fees. The fee for creating an advertisement to buy is always 0%. Don't miss the chance to sell TON or BTC without service fees!
Delivering a streamlined user experience is a core tenet of @wallet, but we want you to know that we refuse to rest on our laurels. So, you can expect a big announcement from us shortly—you won’t want to miss it!

The interface also has a new “Paste” button. Copy-pasting TON addresses has become much simpler. To use the wallet’s newest feature, you must update Telegram to the latest version.

We are constantly improving our product and releasing new updates. We'd like to hear from you in the comments about what features you'd like to see in the bot.
Your @wallet team!
At the end of October, Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, announced the launch of an auction platform for “t.me” domain names called Fragment, where users can buy or sell usernames in Toncoin.
Right out of the gate, Fragment users bought 480 usernames, including @auto and @bank, which sold for 900,000 and 850,000 Toncoin (TON), respectively. At the time of writing, the total sales volume is about 11 million TON — and counting.
The recently added option for people to sell their usernames has injected life into the “t.me” domain market. Over the past few days, the number of open username auctions has surpassed 4000. Now, users can not only buy reserved Telegram domains but also sell their own.
Turmoil in the crypto markets has once again brought out Toncoin’s strength and resilience. The coin has only seen a modest dip in value compared to its counterparts and competitors. Telegram tapping TON to be its blockchain creates an unprecedented stream of users to TON’s ecosystem and native cryptocurrency. You can buy Toncoin via @wallet, with this guide explaining how.
We’re already working on implementing username support for Toncoin transfers, aiming to push this update shortly. We encourage everyone who uses our bot to share ideas for new functions and ways we can improve current ones by reaching out to us in the comments section.
Here’s a friendly reminder that in the @wallet bot, you can safely buy Toncoin at a favorable rate with your bank card.
With @wallet, you can obtain cryptocurrencies directly from other Telegram users on the P2P Market, which acts as the guarantor.
To get started, you must select a sell offer from another user and proceed to the payment.
P2P Market is located in the bot’s main interface directly beneath your balance. Users are encouraged to add @wallet to their attachments menu to access Wallet in all chats.
The market supports six fiat currencies — USD, RUB, EUR, UAH, BYN, and KZT — each of which has its own payment methods.
Also available in @wallet is the option to buy Toncoin for U.S. dollars, rubles, or euros with a bank card. You can find a guide on buying cryptocurrency below:

💰 Stablecoins: why they matter and how to buy them in @wallet
Stablecoins are a type of cryptocurrency whose value is pegged to a "stable" reserve asset, such as the US dollar or gold. The most popular stablecoins, like USDT and USDC, are pegged to the US dollar at a 1:1 ratio, meaning the price of one USDT or USDC equals one US dollar.
What makes them valuable?
🔹 Convenient payments: Stablecoins, due to their peg to real-world currencies, greatly simplify payments. You can easily and conveniently send them to your friends on Telegram through @wallet without any transfer fees.
🔹 Funds protection: During periods of high inflation or economic instability, stablecoins can serve as a valuable tool for protecting your funds.
🔹 Asset diversification: By utilizing stablecoins, you can diversify your assets while mitigating risks of volatility.
Where and how can you buy stablecoins?
The easiest way is through @wallet. Simply launch the bot and tap "Open Wallet." In the pop-up window, select "Market," choose your preferred purchase method, and follow the app's instructions. You can then buy stablecoins using a bank card or on the P2P Market.

@wallet is temporarily increasing Bitcoin withdrawal fees.
Due to the current Bitcoin network congestion, we have temporarily increased the @wallet BTC withdrawal fee. The Bitcoin network fee is not fixed and changes drastically depending on the total number of transactions taking place in the blockchain. The more transactions there are, the higher the fees for each action on the network.
Why is the blockchain congested?
One of the main reasons for the congestion in the Bitcoin network today is the popularity of BRC-20 tokens. BRC-20 tokens are issued on the Bitcoin blockchain and therefore depend on its bandwidth. On April 16, the total number of BRC-20 token transactions was about 3,000. By May 8, there were about 320,000 transactions — almost 60% of the total number of transactions on the entire network.
Will the higher commissions last long?
No, the increase in @wallet Bitcoin withdrawal fees will be temporary. When the load on the network decreases, we will reduce the withdrawal fees. You can see the current withdrawal fee for Bitcoin on the transaction confirmation screen in the @wallet web interface.
To ensure that you can make the most of @wallet in all circumstances, we will aim to minimize our fees as much as possible.
👛 Your @wallet team.
