Regarding the possible meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy, previously mentioned by Steve Witkoff, Budanov stated that this issue is being discussed, but progress is very difficult.
"There is no final answer yet (from the Russian side, - Ed.)," he added.
Furthermore, he noted that the Russian side is not raising the issue of holding elections in Ukraine during the negotiations, focusing on the key topic—the transfer of the remaining part of Donbas to Russian control.
Budanov also announced that the next round of trilateral peace talks is planned for February 26–27.
