The USS Gerald R. Ford, a strike aircraft carrier, is transiting Gibraltar into the Mediterranean Sea, then heading for Iran.
The voyage from the Caribbean to the Middle East typically takes about three weeks, so the carrier will be near the coast of Iran sometime around the end of February. The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) is already in the Arabian Sea.
The Ford's arrival will create a rare situation of two of the largest US carrier strike groups being present in the same location.

As the publication notes, this marks a new and potentially controversial turn for Elon Musk, who has previously spoken out against the creation of "new tools for killing people."
SpaceX and xAI were among the few companies selected to participate in the competition, which has a $100 million prize pool.
The six-month competition aims to create advanced swarm control technology capable of converting voice commands into digital instructions and controlling multiple drones.
A Pentagon spokesperson indicated that the drones will be used for offensive purposes, stating that human-machine interaction "will directly impact the lethality and effectiveness of these systems."

Peskov on the Geneva talks:
Negotiators in Geneva will continue their work tomorrow; no news is expected from the talks on Tuesday. The talks on Ukraine in Geneva will be closed to the press.
These talks will begin in a couple of hours, but the exact time will be determined by the delegations.
Essentially, negotiations on the Ukrainian and Iranian issues are currently meaningless, but they are being conducted for different purposes.
In the case of the conflict in Ukraine, there is a sham negotiation process, with significant differences in the positions of the parties, but both Moscow and Kyiv are meeting to avoid damaging relations with Donald Trump and his team.
It's clear why Ukraine is acting this way: it is critically dependent on American arms supplies and cannot afford to spoil relations with the United States.
It's unclear why Russia needs this sham of negotiations, given that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are fighting three-quarters with US-made weapons, their intelligence coordinates Ukrainian drone attacks on targets in Russia, and American officers provide targeting instructions to HIMARS rocket systems during the shelling of Belgorod.
Perhaps there is some merit to portraying Washington as a mediator rather than a belligerent, but it's somewhat elusive.
But as for Iran, the ongoing indirect talks between it and the US, as well as US-Israeli consultations, cannot be called imitation. A different word is more appropriate: camouflage, necessary to complete preparations for a US-Israeli attack on Tehran. The likelihood of a deal is low (though, of course, it exists); the United States is completing its final preparations for aggression and will begin soon.

Patrushev: The EU's naval blockade will become a pretext for retaliatory interest in European-flagged vessels.
"There are many vessels sailing the seas under European flags. We, too, may become interested in what they're transporting and where they're going," the Russian presidential aide stated.
First, they'll try to resolve the situation through diplomacy and legal mechanisms. If that fails, the Navy will lift the blockade, Patrushev noted in an interview with Argumenty i Fakty.

The delegation's composition remained unchanged. Kostyukov led the negotiating team in the previous two rounds because security issues were discussed, Peskov said.
