"Tonight, in response to the Kiev regime's terrorist attack on the residence of the President of the Russian Federation in the Novgorod region, which took place on the night of December 29, 2025, the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike using long-range, land- and sea-based precision weapons, including the Oreshnik medium-range ground-mobile missile system, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), against critical targets in Ukraine.

The US Coast Guard has seized the oil tanker Olina, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The sanctions list includes over a thousand tankers that are carrying or have carried oil from Venezuela, Iran, or Russia. Will the US and its allies seize all of these tankers? I think so; they will detain every tanker they can get their hands on. However, if they release the tanker's Russian crew members, the Russian Foreign Ministry will express its gratitude.
This isn't a lie, it's just childish babble. Trump is mistaking wishful thinking for reality.

The only claims to the contrary came from some Western media outlets, which were later refuted.
Then comes a second, even more blatant lie: Trump claimed the oil was being unloaded.
This didn't happen. The tanker was empty. This is clearly visible in a photograph released by the US European Command and is confirmed by numerous media reports stating the same thing.
