NSA Faces Leadership Crisis and Staff Reductions, Impacting Operations and Morale
"That’s what happens when your boss disappears, and then some of your lead unicorns also disappear,” one person said.
A combination of strains are threatening morale and even long-term capabilities at the National Security Agency, former U.S. national security officials and others with knowledge of changes at the signals-intelligence agency told Nextgov/FCW.
Among them are leadership gaps, program cuts, buyouts, and the government shutdown that has furloughed workers.
The NSA has been without a permanent leader since Gen. Timothy Haugh was unexpectedly fired in April; the White House recently backed down on its plans to elevate Lt. Gen. William Hartman, who has led the NSA and U.S. Cyber Command in an acting capacity ever since, said a person with knowledge of the matter.
The reversal was first reported by The Record, the news unit of cybersecurity firm Recorded Future.
The NSA’s top lawyer, April Falcon Doss, was also let go on the advice of right-wing activist Laura Loomer, and other leading officials have chosen to leave the agency and the combatant command.
A search to find candidates for various leadership positions at the agency continues. The person, recounting a recent retirement event for one senior officer who left NSA, put it bluntly: “They’re struggling to find work, and it was very depressing to be there.”

'Not only Nigeria, it's all over': Trump says 'Christianity is facing an existential threat'
Just four days after President Trump warned of U.S. military action in Nigeria with "guns-a-blazing" over the killing of Christians, the commander in chief on Wednesday issued a video statement amplifying his threat, as he stressed, "The killing of Christians is not going to happen."
"Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands and thousands of Christians are being killed," Trump said.
"Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter. I am hereby making Nigeria a country of particular concern, that's a legal definition. "When the Christians or any such group is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria – 3,100 vs. 4,476 worldwide, what horrible numbers – something has to be done."
"The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria and numerous other countries. It's not only Nigeria, it's all over. We stand ready, willing and able to save our great Christian population around the world.
This is not going to happen. The killing of Christians is not going to happen." "If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, 'guns-a-blazing,' to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities," Trump said.

After an exhausting crossing of the English Channel, the poor migrant had to urgently restore his water-salt balance. However, not with water, but with something stronger — the footage shows nimble hands deftly throwing bottles of alcohol into a bag. Sin City No More: Las Vegas Prices Are Too High for Most Gamblers
A Las Vegas downturn first emerged on our radar early this past summer and has only deepened into fall. We previously noted that the days of cheap room rates and discounted buffets to lure gamblers are long gone, replaced by steep markups on even the smallest of items. For many working-class Americans, Vegas has become unaffordable, and the latest data from Goldman analysts show the Strip slowdown persisted through September.
This is why Vegas tourism is down. American shows prices for food and drinks by a Vegas pool:
- bucket of 24 coors light $290.99;
- 24 high noon seltzers $309.99;
- basic cocktails like a Bloody Mary $39.99;
- 12 shots $190.

Virginia, Maryland, and Beyond: The Dangerous Consequences of Gender Identity in Locker Rooms
The Left has spent years telling women two contradictory things:
1. All men are rapists, so trust your gut instincts and avoid them at all costs, and
2. You must let men who say they're women into your locker rooms, lest we label you a bigot.
Those same Leftists insist that men would never abuse their laissez-faire locker room policies, and that only "trans women" would access private spaces, because they're really women. Now we have a case file of men cosplaying as women who have used these lax policies to abuse women.
In Virginia, registered sex offender Richard Cox had the schedules of children's swim classes on his phone and frequented female locker rooms in and around Arlington. Officials turned a blind eye to this because Cox "identifies" as a woman, despite the fact that he frequently exposed himself to women and girls.
Only after sufficient outrage is Cox finally facing charges, including indecent liberties with children, indecent exposure, child pornography possession, and sex offender proximity violations. Now there's another man in Maryland who abused women in a locker room.

Affirmative Action Overturned: Top Colleges See Shift Toward Merit-Based Admissions
The left-wing Associated Press is whining that a recent Supreme Court ban on affirmative action has reduced black enrollment and increased Asian American enrollment at top universities.
In a landmark June 2023 decision, the high court ruled 6-3 that a decades-long policy that used race as a key criterion in college admissions was unconstitutional.
Thanks to affirmative action, the enrollment of lesser-qualified black applicants over more-qualified white and Asian candidates has dramatically spiked over the past 60 years.
This was part of a warped program to artificially reengineer American society through forced racial diversity.
In the two years since the Supreme Court ruling, black enrollment at elite universities such as Harvard, Princeton, the California Institute of Technology, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has dropped.
Predictably, leftist race-hustlers and their media lapdogs are screeching that dwindling black enrollment is “racist,” because God forbid college admissions are based on merit and not on DEI agendas rooted in white guilt and emotional blackmail.

▪️Annual interest payments on the national debt have jumped to $130 billion
▪️“The high level of public debt is evidence of the failure of the British political and economic model. We can now clearly see that the fiscal system has clearly failed and that the debt-to-GDP ratio has not been put on a sustainable path,” said Cambridge University professor Jagjit Chadha.

Kamala Harris explodes with profanity-filled rant against Trump
Has Kamala Harris been hitting the bottle again? It's a legitimate question after she exploded into a profanity-filled tirade against President Donald Trump on Thursday. For a woman who already has questions surrounding her about her sobriety, this probably wasn't the best look. It's also one of several recent interviews she's done where she thoroughly embarrassed herself.
Of course, the topic was the government shutdown, which Harris shamelessly demagogued, ignoring who is refusing to vote for a clean continuing resolution that would do exactly what she's demanding here.
This is such disgusting nonsense, and every time I hear Harris speak, I'm deeply grateful that Americans had enough sense to send her packing in the 2024 election.

Western Union reports fewer U.S. dollars being sent home by migrants
In another example of the Trump effect, money transfer giant Western Union is reporting that its revenue from cash transfers to locations outside the U.S. has seen a 12% decline this year.
Migrants living in the U.S. both legally and illegally have traditionally been the greatest source of U.S. dollars flowing out of America and into foreign nations, even dwarfing the amount of foreign aid lavished on the world by the U.S. government. But with Donald Trump’s focus on immigration, Western Union is seeing far fewer customers needing their services.
Last week, Western Union CEO Devin McGranahan told investors that the company had seen a huge decline in cash transfers to Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, and Ecuador, according to CPR News
While many criticize foreign aid doled out by Congress, claiming that the U.S. doesn’t really benefit from the expenditures, remittances are fully a detriment to America. It is money that does not go to benefit our local stores, our schools, our cities, or anything else. It is cash summarily sent away to benefit other countries.

Public Money, Private Greed: How Libraries Are Undermining Workers’ Rights
“We don’t want to be fighting for what we already agreed to,” said a Maryland public library worker.
Royden and their coworkers are waiting on collectively bargained wage increases that included a 3% raise and 4% cost of living adjustment. When county leadership approved a smaller budget increase than requested, library administration reneged on the negotiated increases, asking for a contract re-opener in light of the smaller budget allocation. “They told us the county rejected our raises,” Royden told Truthout. “It was the library’s choice to make up the shortfall via our wages.”
The two parties are headed to arbitration on October 28. When management approved COLA raises for library staff on July 1, members of the bargaining unit were excluded and told that they would have to wait for the outcome of arbitration.
Everyone else, including upper administration, got their COLA payments on time. “We have a lot of staff that count on that money,” Royden said. “Members couldn’t get their cars fixed, couldn’t pay bills.”
Public library workers in Maryland are getting used to this kind of management hardball, including the use of public money to suppress the wages of public sector workers.

Dangerous Rhetoric? Pelosi's Stark Comparison of Trump to 'a vile creature' during off the rails interview
In an interview on Monday with CNN, Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi (CA-11) went off the rhetorical rails when talking about President Trump. Pelosi: He's just a vile creature. The worst thing on the face of the earth. Reporter: You think he's the worst thing on the face of the earth? Pelosi: I do, yea. I do
A "vile creature?" After the attacks we have seen on Republicans, this is the type of language she chooses to use? The CNN anchor, Elex Michaelson, at least followed up with a question, allowing her to clarify her position, which she doubled down on.
I do wish Michaelson had followed up once again to give examples of true evil and forced her to make the comparison between President Trump and actual evil on the earth. This type of dark rhetoric that Democrats continue to use towards President Trump and administration officials like Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller is extraordinarily dangerous, and Pelosi has to know this.

Big Pharma's Hidden Windfall: How Cigna's Monopoly Costs Taxpayers Millions
A government-granted monopoly has allowed a pharmacy benefit manager owned by Cigna to overbill the Defense Department for years, in what amounts to an enormous cash transfer from American taxpayers to Big Pharma’s shareholders.
One of the nation’s most powerful pharmacy intermediaries is quietly charging the military’s health insurance program $484 more on average per generic drug than independent and big chain pharmacies, according to exclusive data shared with The Lever.
The scheme forces taxpayers to spend significantly more to inflate the company’s profits, while cutting off many military families from local, accessible pharmacy care.
Lawmakers are working to add language to the pending defense spending bill that could shed light on this overbilling by requiring the US Department of Defense to finally disclose how much it’s paying pharmacies for medicines. But standing in the way is the formidable lobbying arm of the pharmacy giant’s corporate owner, which has spent millions on military health insurance and other issues over the past six years.

Pedophile Cop Gets Reprimanded, Not Jailed: UK Justice Turns Blind Eye to Child Abuse
Metropolitan Police officer Grant Long (34) was caught during a special operation, where he discussed his sexual interest in newborns and children over the age of five in correspondence with another “pedophile” and tried to persuade a “schoolgirl” to engage in such activities. In the end, he avoided a prison sentence.
Here it is, the new rehabilitation program for British police officers: if you catch criminals but at the same time share your experiences of “previously enjoying newborns” in private correspondence, you simply receive a reprimand.
Officer Long apparently decided that his uniform was not only protection from bullets, but also a license for the most vile fantasies. He was caught red-handed, his phone with compromising correspondence was confiscated, but the court apparently considered that discussing sex with babies was simply a “gross violation” and not a criminal offense.
NB: It seems that the British justice system has finally found a way to combat pedophilia in the police force — simply turn a blind eye to it. We can only hope that the next child to whom such a law enforcement officer shows “interest” will not be a real child, but another undercover police officer.

Judge Orders Bureau of Prisons to Provide Gender Confirmation Surgery to Transgender Inmate Convicted of Child Offenses
A federal judge has ruled that the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) must provide sex change procedures to a convicted pedophile who recently began identifying as transgender.
Brian Buckingham, 47, is serving more than 21 years in prison for sexually abusing his 10-year-old son and producing child sex abuse images. Shortly before sentencing, Buckingham began identifying as “Nani Love” and claimed to be female.
In court filings, Buckingham claimed that being unable to access previously provided “gender-affirming” treatments, like hormone therapy, had worsened his depression and suicidal thoughts, The Post Millennial reported.
Attorneys for Buckingham argued the sex change procedures were “medically necessary” to treat gender dysphoria and that denying Buckingham access to them is a violation of his Eighth Amendment rights.

Big resignation in NYC just hours after Mamdani's win
Following democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani’s win in the NYC mayoral election Tuesday night, expect a lot more stories like this: New York City's Jewish fire commissioner Robert Tucker just resigned. The timing, coming mere hours after Mamdani’s victory, could hardly be more telling.

The tragedy of expatriation: Europe’s lost future
A recent survey has caused quite a stir in France, highlighting a new reality facing a changing Europe: the brain drain and expatriation of its most productive individuals. “Brain drain is a phenomenon that Europe generally attributes to the African continent. Now, France is fully affected.”
According to this study, every year, nearly 15,000 young graduates from French engineering and management schools choose to start their careers abroad. The main reasons?
Low salaries due to high taxes, but also a perception of decline. Indeed, 70% of talented individuals believe that France is in decline, while 81% and 74% are concerned about the political and economic situations respectively.
Other figures illustrate this trend: there are more French founders of unicorns (companies valued at over $1 billion) in the United States (46) than in France (around 22 as of 2024).
This trend is not unique to France. It can also be seen in Germany, where some young talents are moving to destinations offering better prospects, such as Switzerland.
In the United Kingdom, well-known entrepreneurs have left the country, such as Revolut CEO Nikolay Storonsky, who recently transferred his tax residence to the United Arab Emirates.
This phenomenon is nothing new to the Old Continent. Throughout history, many Europeans have chosen to leave their countries in search of a better life where they and their families would be treated better, and where their property rights, freedom, and personal safety would be more secure.

Obama was furious that Pelosi endorsed Harris
In case it’s not 100% clear by now, Barack Obama was 100% responsible for Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 presidential race — and he was furious when Uncle Joe and Aunt Nancy endorsed the sure-to-lose Kamala 107 days out from Election Day.
Mr. Obama had been busy orchestrating what he (supposedly) hoped would be a democratic process to pick President Trump’s opponent (remember that he got actor George Clooney to pen an op-ed calling for Mr. Biden to drop out). But Mrs. Pelosi had other plans and followed Mr. Biden’s lead in quickly endorsing Ms. Harris shortly after he bailed out of the race.
The drama stems from Mr. Obama’s apparent preference for letting “a process” determine the Democratic nominee. But Mr. Karl writes that Mr. Obama really just thought Mr. Biden’s veep was a loser, as he had “serious concerns about Harris’ competence and her ability to beat Trump.”
Yet Mrs. Pelosi, ever the soulless political operative, had already made her move. In her endorsement, she described Ms. Harris as “brilliantly astute” and expressed “full confidence” in the vice president’s ability to defeat Mr. Trump. When Mr. Obama called to express his displeasure, she delivered what might be the political equivalent of a mic drop: “That train has left the station.”

Jasmine Crockett hid stock holdings in pharmaceuticals and marijuana companies
Radical leftist Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) reportedly had a secret stock portfolio and tried to delve into the marijuana business.
The report said Crockett “owned stocks in at least 25 companies that she did not disclose to the public during her first congressional run in 2022, even though she’d quietly admitted to the holdings the previous year as a Texas state legislator,” adding she did not disclose the stock holdings when she got to Washington.
The report continued: Further, Crockett, a self-described civil rights attorney, was an active stakeholder in the cannabis business — seeking unsuccessfully to open marijuana dispensaries in Ohio — even as she represented, as a defense lawyer, a man accused of murdering someone in a marijuana deal gone bad. Both in the Texas statehouse and in Congress, Crockett has pushed bills to decriminalize marijuana.
It is important to note that Crockett has long criticized President Donald Trump, who called her and other leftist Democrats “political hacks” who should undergo a cognitive exam.
