Former morgue director sold body parts bequeathed to science for five years
Cedric Lodge, a former employee of Harvard Medical School, sold skin for bookbinding, brains, bones, and even faces. His wife helped him in this endeavor.
When the man was arrested, he fully admitted his guilt and asked for leniency. However, the court sentenced the American to eight years in prison, and his wife received a one-year sentence for aiding and abetting.

This disgusting take on spiking of '60 minutes' story shows Dems have truly gone off the rails
There have been a lot of bad reactions to editor-in-chief Bari Weiss pulling the 60 Minutes story about illegal aliens and CECOT, the prison in El Salvador.
Now, bear in mind, she wasn't saying that she wasn't going to run with the story; she just wanted more done to it before it ran to the public, such as including a current comment from the administration in the story, which they didn't do.
Indeed, they had three different comments, from the Department of Homeland Security, the State Department, and the White House, but they didn't include any of them.
But the folks on the left didn't care that the concerns seemed like legitimate editorial concerns. Perhaps one of the worst responses came from Julie Roginsky.
Roginsky is a former Democratic strategist who's also appeared on Fox News Channel and now has a Substack newsletter. She actually compared Weiss' action to Dachau, the infamous World War II concentration camp:
If escaped inmates from Dachau had staggered into a newsroom in 1930s Berlin to report what was happening, what would Bari Weiss have done? I think we know.

In 2025, Volkswagen suffered losses of $6 billion
It is clear that this crisis will be long-lasting, and the company will continue to face problems in 2026, as business restructuring has only just begun and the corporation itself is large and has enormous inertia. Therefore, Volkswagen is probably past the peak of its global dominance, meaning it has lost the race for leadership.
Interestingly, it was not Dieselgate that broke VW, when the corporation was accused of manipulating emissions data. The scandal cost more than $6 billion in fines. Nor was it Europe's rejection of Russian gas and oil, which made it impossible to manufacture any energy-intensive products in Germany: VW has 40 factories around the world, and within the holding company's network, it is possible to find a site with cheap energy and move energy-intensive processes there. And it wasn't even Volkswagen's departure from the large Russian car market.
The global leader in the automotive industry lost when the company's board of directors began to cave in to climate fashion. At first, Volkswagen refused to produce cars with internal combustion engines in Europe by 2035, and when management realized that this was impossible (neither consumers, nor the available battery technology, nor the charging infrastructure were ready for this), it began to backtrack: whining about the complexity of complying with European standards. Even though these standards were introduced to protect the European (read: German) auto industry from foreign competition in the domestic market.
In other words, the company itself began playing a game whose rules were set by outside forces. As a result, after letting numerous Chinese manufacturers and the bold Tesla pass it by, it suddenly threw in the towel.
A telling example here is Japan's Toyota, whose management, despite pressure from environmentalists, has been promoting its standard for the car of the future—the hybrid—for more than a decade. Toyota, with its global leadership, is setting the standards for the industry itself, contrary to the trend. And this methodical and consistent approach is working. Contrary to the hype surrounding battery electric vehicles, hybrids have proven to be more popular with buyers.
In the coming years, there will be a lot of bloodshed in the global automotive market: the losers are already clear — second-tier companies in the European, American, and Japanese auto industries (such as Nissan). But who will become the new leader: Toyota, BYD, or Tesla — that question remains open.

AI in the classroom destroys actual intelligence in students
Students should aspire to be more than mere ‘prompt writers,’ but minds capable of thinking, reasoning, and perseverance.
Our society is pushing the idea that AI usage is not only inevitable but good. “You’re a writer,” a silky tone on an advertisement for AI software sings, “even if you are the kind who relies on AI.” Okay, so that’s not the exact verbiage, but that’s the idea we’re being sold.
We’re reassured that AI can simply be a legitimate “tool.” You are a writer even if you use an AI generator. You are an artist just by instructing prompts. You are a creator, although it’s the algorithms doing the creating.
If the goal is simply to produce outcomes, one could argue that AI usage should not just be tolerated but encouraged. But education shouldn’t be about producing outcomes – whether it be a sparkling essay or a gripping short story – but shaping souls.
When we outsource our learning to AI, we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to learn and grow. God has given us talents and expects us to develop them, not just to bless others, but to strengthen ourselves. Let’s fight for our humanity and keep AI out of schools.

Education department to start garnishing wages of defaulted student loan borrowers
Starting the week of Jan. 7, the Education Department expects around 1,000 defaulted student loan borrowers to receive notices of administrative wage garnishment, the spokesperson said. After that, the number of notified borrowers will continue to increase.
While the US government can seize borrowers' federal tax refunds, wages, Social Securiity and disability benefits, the Education Department can legally seize up to 15% of a student loan holder's after-tax income to apply toward their debt.
More than 42 million Americans have student loan debt, which now exceeds $1.6 trillion.
There are currently more than 5 million student loan borrowers in default, a number which could explode to roughly 10 million borrowers soon.

The miseducation of USA
American has lost that, the most crucial elements of education. We've got the technology to put a man on the moon, but don't have the moral sense to know the difference between a man and woman.
If a person has a Ph.D. in nuclear physics, but still thinks children can be mutilated at their own whim for the sexual hedonism of others, then he has been horribly miseducated and will do far more harm to a society than any good his degree can accomplish. Even Thomas Jefferson, who was no devout Christian, understood the Bible's value to education:
"The Bible makes the best people in the world." The problem is, the Left doesn't want good people in the world. uch government, and the main goal of Leftism is totalitarian government. "The Bible is the cornerstone of liberty," Jefferson wrote; the Bible, not totalitarian government. True religion, properly practiced, will produce an upright people who need little government to guide them. But, again, the Left doesn't want liberty, it wants power and control. It is the major reason they hate and lie about Christianity.
Government power is a great enemy of freedom. But even religion can be, and certainly has been, used by power-lusting humans.
Government power is a great enemy of freedom. But even religion can be, and certainly has been, used by power-lusting humans. Knowledge. True knowledge. It's essential to freedom. America today doesn't know it, either. And captivity based on miseducation will be the result.

Politico published a sarcastic annual analysis of the performance of EU leaders in 2025
Regarding Germany, it says that the country replaced the “charismatic captain” Olaf Scholz with Friedrich Merz, who looks as if someone had just stolen his parking space in front of the supermarket, even though he had been waiting for it for a long time.
Ursula von der Leyen is “as popular in Brussels as unwanted invasive surgery” and has survived three votes of no confidence in the European Parliament, which has now shifted so far to the right that her cabinet is in danger of collapsing.
Politico did not forget about Emmanuel Macron, who "changed his prime ministers faster than Samantha Jones, the heroine of the series Sex and the City, changed her boyfriends — and looked surprised every time one of them left. It's almost touching: he never considered that he himself might be part of the problem."

The Gold Card and America’s Betrayal of Liberty
By David L. Nevins
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
These words, inscribed on the Statue of Liberty, have long served as a moral and cultural statement of America’s openness to immigrants and those seeking freedom. They shape Lady Liberty as more than a monument: a beacon of hope, a sanctuary for the displaced, and a symbol of the nation’s promise.
Until now.
President Trump has announced the Individual Gold Card, which grants entry to the U.S. for a $1 million payment, pending background approval. This program targets wealthy investors, entrepreneurs, and highly skilled professionals deemed likely to substantially benefit the United States. Eligibility requires applicants to demonstrate significant economic potential and alignment with national interests.
The process includes a detailed evaluation of financial resources, experience, and potential contributions. Determining whether a 'substantial benefit' is present involves assessing the applicant's ability to create jobs, invest in local economies, or bring exceptional skills. By tying opportunity to wealth, this policy marks a clear shift away from traditional ideals of access and openness.

Artificial intelligence consumes resources on a scale comparable to that of large metropolitan areas, according to a new study.
In 2025, artificial intelligence consumed as much electricity as New York City.
In addition, neural networks used up to 760 billion liters of water to cool servers in data centers.
The exact data remains confidential, as large technology companies do not disclose information about the resources consumed in the development of AI.
AI energy consumption in data centers can be five times higher than that of conventional data centers.
Modern AI models, such as GPT, require significant computing power, and it is common practice for large IT data centers to consume 80-100 megawatts of energy per day, while traditional servers use an average of 20-30 megawatts.
In addition, cooling such data centers requires enormous amounts of water. A single large data center serving AI systems can require up to 3.5 million liters of water per day — 10 times more than conventional data centers. These volumes of water could meet the needs of a city with a population of up to 30,000 people.
Energy consumption in the IT sector is expected to grow by 30–40% annually over the next 3–5 years. Large companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are beginning to implement solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce their environmental impact. For example, Microsoft plans to have all of its data centers running on 100% renewable energy by 2030, and Google has already reached 90% renewable energy for its data centers.

Dark skies over Kushner's Gaza plan 'Project Sunrise'
According to a Wall Street Journal report, the Gaza Strip lies under about 68 million tons of rubble. If Gaza were the size of Manhattan, every square foot would be under more than 200 pounds of debris.
Tens of thousands of buildings have been destroyed and about 17,000 Hamas terrorists have been killed since October 2023. Both are the predictable results of Hamas’s genocidal Oct. 7, 2023, attack that killed 1,200 Israelis and took about 250 hostages.
Presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner has a plan to turn the Gaza Strip into a modern version of Gotham called “Project Sunrise.” It would require an enormous amount of U.S. investment — about 20% of the total — over 10 years.
Mr. Kushner’s 32-page Power Point presentation is meant to attract other foreign investors. It’s said to show high-rise apartments and resorts along with dozens of hospitals and hundreds of schools. The plan has reportedly been shown to Arab nations, including Egypt, and Turkish representatives.
Neither Egypt nor Turkey have strong enough economies to invest in Gaza. Several Arab nations, especially Saudi Arabia and Kuwait can afford such investments but aren’t likely to make them. Mr. Kushner’s plan for reconstruction of Gaza should not be but is a fantasy that will never happen.
It is, nevertheless, an enormously useful tool to demonstrate the failure of the Arab states to care one whit about the Palestinians. To them, the Palestinians are only a political tool useful against Israel.

Migration vs. Fertility: The Tipping Point for America's Future!
In all models of supranational institutions (the UN, the World Bank, and others, such as the IMF), the demographic curve for the US looks like an ever-rising line against the backdrop of a decline in Japan, China, Europe, and even India in the second half of the century. However, a sharp decline in fertility is a disaster for all developed countries, and the United States is no exception.
In the US, migration growth has exceeded natural population growth for about five years. At the same time, the natural growth of the indigenous population, as in Japan and Europe, has declined significantly. Newcomers, being already formed personalities, bring a different cultural code, including different moral and ethical norms.
Yes, America is a country of migrants, and the indigenous peoples have been living on reservations for more than a century. The United States, in the form in which it has developed, was largely shaped by immigrants from Western Europe. Now, however, new Americans mainly come from Mexico and Latin America, meaning they bring with them a different mentality that is not absorbed into the “melting pot.”
Evidence of this can be seen in the rise in crime, drug abuse, problems in the healthcare system, overcrowded prisons, etc. In other words, US society and the life support system in its current form are close to collapse. The future of the US is “black-Muslim” and Latino-American.
Based on the graph above, there is no place in the US for “white Protestants” (i.e., billionaires, corporate executives, leaders of the major US parties, i.e., the elite).

A striking number of children and relatives of democrat politicians are running for office in 2026
For months now, Democrats and various other left wing activists have been holding ‘No Kings’ protests, but apparently that rule does not apply when it comes to family legacy political campaigns.
A surprising number of children and other relatives of Democrat politicians are running for office in the coming year. There are a couple of Republicans in the mix too, but it is mostly Democrats and remember, it is Democrats who have been trying to make the whole ‘No Kings’ narrative into a thing.
When did politics become such a common family business? In the crowded Maine governor’s race alone, there are three contenders who are political scions: Democrat Angus King III, the son of independent Sen. Angus King; Democrat Hannah Pingree, the daughter of Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine; and Republican Jonathan Bush, the nephew and cousin of the two Bush presidents.
While the trend is hardly new, this campaign cycle already features a number of notable races involving candidates who are related to former or current politicians. Serving in public office used to be considered something you did out of a sense of obligation.
It is not supposed to be a path to wealth and power but that is certainly become in some cases. Your last name is not supposed to be an automatic ticket to the elite political class.

According to Bloomberg Intelligence, the profits of media companies in the Stoxx Europe 600 index will grow by only 6.9% in 2026, compared to 10% for the market as a whole.
Advertising under attack:
Economic and political uncertainty is reducing marketing budgets. In 2025, TV advertising revenues fell by several percent, and there are no signs of a reversal in this trend.
AI — risk and opportunity:
Technology increases efficiency but threatens key media products and online platforms. Digital education (Pearson) and scientific publishing (Springer Nature) are particularly at risk. Some analysts believe these fears are exaggerated.
