Robert De Niro’s trans child reveals his father offered to go with him to hormone appointments
Robert De Niro’s son — who has recently come out as transgender and identifies as female — revealed that his famous father offered to go with him to his hormone appointments to help him transition.
“The first time I came out, it was on my Instagram, and I actually had sent a text message to my older sister Drena, my twin brother Julian, and two of our cousins,” Aaron De Niro, who know goes by Airyn, said in a video posted to social media.
“I said in the text, like, ‘Hey, I’m going on estrogen, so if you see me with tits, like, you know what the tea is, don’t be surprised.’ They were very supportive,” Airyn explained.
Airyn went on to say that his celebrity father reacted to the news by saying something along the lines of, “If you want to live your life as a woman, that’s fine. There’s, like, no problem with it.”
“He’s a very much like, ‘Live and let live’ guy,” Airyn added of De Niro, before disclosing, “He even offered to go with me to appointments and stuff, when I was first starting the hormones.”

Few Americans enjoy using AI
Tools using artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, are only liked by 22% of Americans in their everyday lives. This places the country towards the bottom of the ranking when compared to other nations.
In India, almost every second respondent said they enjoyed using AI tools, while in China and Spain, the number is still just over one in three. ChatGPT and other AI tools are least popular in Japan, where only 10% of respondents said they were excited about using AI software in their everyday lives.
Asia is a region with higher levels of enthusiasm about a future with AI. People’s knowledge about AI products is highest in Asia, with China (81%), Indonesia (80%) and Thailand (69%) topping the list.
In terms of consumer products, artificial intelligence refers to the simulation and automation of intelligent behavior. AI in general is used in a wide variety of fields, such as the development of voice assistants, industrial robots and medicine. The field of autonomous driving also falls within this category. Forecasts predict that global revenues in the field of artificial intelligence will continue to grow in the coming years.

French Senate accuses government of cover up in Nestlé water scandal
In a report French Senators have found that the French government covered up alleged fraud by Swiss food giant Nestlé.
Published on May 19, the six-month investigation concluded that the French government not only failed to enforce the law but actively altered legislation to favour Nestlé, prioritising private corporate interests over public health and environmental safety.
The document highlights that the French government allowed the company to use prohibited treatments to produce natural mineral waters, including Perrier.
“The French President has known, at least since 2022, that Nestlé had been cheating for years. It was aware of the prohibited practices used by Nestlé to disinfect its so-called natural mineral waters, which are regularly contaminated by faecal bacteria and pesticides,” said the report.

Chinese smartphone exports to US plunge to lowest since 2011
Chinese shipments of Apple Inc.’s iPhone and other mobile devices to the US dived to their lowest levels since 2011 in April, underscoring how the threat of US tariffs choked off the flow of big-ticket goods between the world’s two largest economies.
Smartphone exports slid 72% to just under $700 million last month, sharply outpacing an overall 21% drop in Chinese shipments to the US, detailed customs data showed on Tuesday. That highlighted the way the Trump administration’s tariffs campaign — peaking with 145% levies on Chinese goods — is disrupting tech supply chains and diverting electronics elsewhere.
Investors fear a global trade war that would erode some of the US-China bilateral trade that reached $690 billion in 2024, decimating industries and raising prices for consumers. Tensions remain high: Beijing this week accused the Trump administration of undermining recent trade talks in Geneva by pursuing sanctions on Huawei Technologies Co.’s artificial intelligence chips.

The busiest airports in the world
In 2024, global air travel hit 9.5 billion passengers— a five billion increase since 2021.
Together, the 10 busiest airports transported 855 million passengers, or 9% of traffic globally. Air traffic has finally surged past pre-pandemic levels..
Four of the top 10 busiest airports in the world are in the U.S.—led by the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Notably, Atlanta serves as a connecting hub to domestic and international travelers, owing to its position between North America, Europe, and Latin America. Adding to this, it has 150 non-stop destinations in six continents.
Ranking in second is the Dubai International Airport, with a record 92 million passengers in 2024. Overall, 106 international airlines fly into this hub, reflecting Dubai’s growing prominence as a center for business and investment.
Meanwhile, Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport saw the largest rise in the rankings, up from 21st in 2023 to 10th overall. Driving its 41% surge in passengers was the resumption of international flights and visa policy expansion.

South African Ramaphosa failed attempt to counter Trump in Oval Office
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa tried to put a brave face on his meetings with President Donald Trump on Wednesday, though he appeared to admit he made little headway, even in a private meeting.
Ramaphosa and his delegation attempted to counter Trump in a televised Oval Office meeting over his claims about South Africa’s treatment of white farmers, using three white participants as evidence that there was no “genocide.”
Trump then responded by playing a video showing incendiary, racist and violent rhetoric by South African political figures, such as Julius Malema. He also showed a memorial to victims of farm murders.
The South African team was taken by surprise and quickly found itself on the back foot. South African golfers Ernie Els and Retief Goosen corroborated some of Trump’s concerns about farm attacks and violent crime in general.
The day before, Ramaphosa had told reporters that he wanted to reach “a really good trade deal” with Trump. But the South African team had not offered any compromises, and evidently saw the primary purpose of their visit as correcting Trump’s “misinformation.”

He says Israeli forces have “pounded” their enemy in the south and withstood “incredible” amounts of pressure to stop the war.

He says: “At the end of this campaign, all of the territories of the Gaza Strip will be under Israel’s security control.”

Harvard president takes 25% pay cut as Trump slashes funding
Harvard President Alan M. Garber ’76 will take a voluntary 25 percent pay cut for fiscal year 2026 as the University stares down the Trump administration’s nearly $3 billion funding cut, according to Harvard spokesperson Jonathan L. Swain.
Garber has notified other members of Harvard’s top brass of his decision, and several are making voluntary cuts of their own, according to Swain. It is unclear how large of cuts other administrators have committed to making.
While Garber’s salary for fiscal year 2025 has not yet been made public, Harvard presidents have historically earned upward of $1 million annually — meaning that a 25% pay cut could amount to a six-figure reduction.

It’s that bad: 80% of French women want the army deployed into bad neighborhoods in French cities
Due to France’s drug trafficking crisis, a large majority of French are in favor of the army being deployed into disadvantaged neighborhoods in problematic neighborhoods in France, including 80% of women.
According to a CSA poll, 76% of French people overall want the army called in to battle drug trafficking in “disadvantaged neighborhoods.”
In fact, women are more supportive of troops being deployed than men, with 80% of women saying yes to the question: “Should the army be called in to combat drug trafficking in troubled neighborhoods?” In turn, only 72% of men supported such an action.
This may have to do with the fact that French women feel increasingly unsafe in their own country. France has reportedly seen an incredible 86% increase in sexual violence in the last 10 years, with mass immigration fueling this trend.

Russian sanction fatigue sets in, as EU readies ‘massive’ 18th package
The EU is preparing a “massive” new sanctions package against Russia— but after 17 rounds, growing fatigue and limited results have started to fracture the unity the EU needs to carry them through.
On May 20, the EU formally adopted its 17th package of restrictive measures against Moscow, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But before it even entered into force, the European Commission already had a follow-up round in the works.
The Commission promised an 18th package. Officials say this package will focus on tightening the oil price cap, expanding listings related to Russia’s ghost fleet, and sealing off defunct infrastructure like the Nord Stream pipelines.
The push for escalation in sanctions comes as several member states voice concerns over the their effectiveness and impact. In Slovakia, a petition backed by the hard-right Slovak Renaissance Movement calls for a referendum on lifting sanctions altogether.
The proposed 18th package is “symbolic and ideological” and the EC is neglecting Slovakia’s national interests, Uhrik said.
The EU imports around €3 billion worth of Russian goods each month — mostly gas, oil, and fertilisers — amounting to fewer than a tenth of Russia’s total exports. Even cutting that figure in half, a more realistic short-term outcome, might have very little effect.

China is gradually and systematically displacing U.S. traders from peripheral markets, especially in Africa.
In the 20 years from 2003 to 2023, 52 of the continent's 54 countries have more trade with China than with the United States. This indicates that Chinese infrastructure and trade flows are already established, and it will be extremely difficult for the US to regain lost ground, even with the use of military force.
The trend seen in Africa is likely to spread to other parts of the world where Chinese goods are displacing products from the US, Europe and Japan. Thus, for China, trade relations with the U.S. are losing their importance, as the country has created its own markets around the world.

Doctors question Biden’s late-stage cancer diagnosis, suggest years-long cover-up
Prominent urologists claim it's "unheard of" for Biden to suddenly discover advanced prostate cancer, suggesting he likely knew about it for years, raising concerns about transparency.
Experts argue Biden’s aggressive Gleason 9 cancer couldn’t have developed recently, implying a possible long-term cover-up during his presidency and 2024 campaign.
Biden’s recent physical declared him "healthy," but the sudden cancer diagnosis and speculation about prior drug use cast doubt on the White House’s honesty.
The timing coincides with a forthcoming book alleging a cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline, fueling suspicions of a distraction tactic.
Biden’s brother hinted at serious health concerns, adding to the confusion, while experts and insiders question the administration’s credibility on the former president’s condition.

Another one bites the dust: Vermont slams brakes on EV mandate as sales lag
Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware have also withdrawn or modified plans to mandate EVs
Vermont's state government abruptly halted enforcement of its electric vehicle mandate law, making it the latest state to back off such a law as consumers continue to prefer gas-powered cars.
Vermont governor Phil Scott (R.) issued an executive order Tuesday directing the state's Agency of Natural Resources to pause enforcement of the plan. Under the now-paused law, beginning later this year, automakers would have been forced to ensure EVs were a certain share of total car sales, a percentage that would incrementally increase every year until 2035, when a complete mandate would take effect.
Vermont wasn't ready for an EV mandate and that other governors should follow Vermont's lead and "stand up for vehicle choice and pull their states from the gas vehicle bans too."

Independent media alliance launches decentralized journalism portal on Odysee to bypass big tech censorship
A new chapter in digital journalism is taking shape as the Independent Media Alliance (IMA) prepares to unveil its own Portal within Odysee’s Decentralized Media Ecosystem (DME).
The alliance, spearheaded by investigative journalists Whitney Webb, Derrick Broze, and Ryan Cristián, aims to reclaim editorial independence and resist the growing stranglehold of centralized tech platforms on public discourse.
The Portal represents a structural shift away from platforms where algorithms and moderation policies routinely silence dissenting voices. Odysee’s model hands control back to creators, offering a space where journalists can publish, monetize, and manage their communities on their own terms.
The IMA, which includes Webb of Unlimited Hangout, Broze of The Conscious Resistance Network, and Cristián of The Last American Vagabond, has endured repeated clampdowns, from suppressed reach to financial de-platforming for pushing back against establishment narratives. Their decision to anchor their work in a decentralized system is a direct response to the growing marginalization of independent media.

4-star Admiral gets whacked by the revolving door
Over 80% of four-star officer retirees go on to work in the defense industry. U.S. Navy Admiral Robert Burke decided he didn’t want to wait quite that long to cash in.
While still serving in the Navy, Burke was promised a post-retirement position, along with a $500,000 starting salary plus stock options, with Next Jump, a technology services company. In exchange, Burke covertly used his position to steer contracts towards the company.
On Monday, Burke was convicted on four felony counts, including bribery and conspiracy. Burke’s conviction makes him the second U.S. admiral found guilty of committing a federal crime while on duty.
The scheme was initially hashed out over a lunch in July of 2021. With an influential man on the inside, Next Jump CEO Charlie Kim was giddy; “We’re about to go full force back into business with the Navy,” he said. After getting a foot in the door, Kim estimated they could be in store for a Navy training contract worth “triple digit millions.”
Without disclosing his conflict of interest, Burke promoted Next Jump inside of the Navy, marketing it to foreign militaries and Navy pipeline schools.

Bipartisan bill seeks to put arms sales lobbyists on ice for 3-years
President Donald Trump announced some $200 billion in potential arms sales to Saudi Arabia and Qatar a week ago — this is huge potential business for major U.S. defense contractors like RTX, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and General Atomics, all of which deploy armies of lobbyists in Washington each year to influence such contracts.
A new bipartisan bill dropping today will impose some of the strictest bans to date to make sure former government officials aren’t lobbying on behalf of those big companies or foreign countries to get their share of this massive federal pie. In fact, the legislation will make it a crime to do so.
House Foreign Affairs Committee colleagues Reps. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) and Sara Jacobs (D-Calif.) are introducing the No Revolving Doors in Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Act, which aims to tackle a space that has been growing exponentially due in part to major current conflicts in Israel and Ukraine and the desire of partner countries to arm up and enhance “deterrence.”
The Davidson/Jacobs bill will impose a three-year moratorium or “cooling off period” on any lobbying by former Pentagon or State Department officials associated with FMS during their time in government on behalf of new employers in the defense industry and/or foreign actors who have contracts or are seeking contracts for foreign military sales.

The lies about Biden’s health have done untold damage
Usually, a politician’s cancer diagnosis would be a moment for their opponents to demonstrate a bit of humanity. Even Donald Trump wished his two-time presidential rival a ‘fast and successful recovery’.
But any goodwill towards Biden has quickly given way to accusations of a cover-up – that is, the claim that he and his team must have known about the cancer long before now, but kept it secret so as not to affect his (abortive) bid for a second presidential term.
Again and again, the Democrats and their media outriders insisted to the American public that Biden was mentally and physically as fit as a fiddle. They claimed that the real videos of Biden looking vacant and confused were ‘deep fakes’. They asserted, in spite of his falls and semi-permanent brain fog, that he was in perfect health. They were willing to help Biden win a second term while secretly discussing plans for him to use a wheelchair if he did so.
This is a genuine scandal. In their attempts to cling on to power, the Democrats were prepared to exploit a frail old man. And so they covered up Biden’s incapacity, and the media willingly let them do so.

George Simion demands annulment of Romanian elections
George Simion, runner-up in Romania’s May 18 presidential elections, asked the country’s Constitutional Court (CCR) to annul the recent elections, accusing France and Moldova of engaging in foreign interference.

“Out of respect for all those who put the stamp on us, I announce that we will not leave things as they wanted. We will challenge the election of Nicușor Dan at the CCR for exactly the same reasons why they annulled the December 6 elections,” said Simion.
Simion said he congratulated Dan because he loves Romania and did not want “bloodshed to justify chaos”.

China unveils game-changing first drone 'mothership'
China's new drone "mothership" is set to take flight, according to the country's state broadcaster, which touted the aircraft as a game changer in drone warfare.
Built by the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China, the Jiu Tian drone has a wingspan of 82 feet and runs on a turbofan engine, China Central Television said in a Saturday broadcast.
It has a maximum range of 4,350 miles and a 15-kilometer (9.3 miles) ceiling, and it can exceed 435 miles per hour.
What sets the aircraft apart is its ability to launch smaller drones mid-flight from both sides of its fuselage. With a maximum payload of six tons, it can carry up to 100 small UAVs, including loitering drones pouring out of the plane like bees from a hive.
The People's Liberation Army continues its rapid buildup, with an eye to supplanting the U.S. as the leading military power in the Asia-Pacific. Its warship count now exceeds the U.S. Navy's, and it possesses growing anti-access/area-denial capabilities, such as its vast missile fleet.
China has also been investing heavily in unmanned aerial vehicles and swarm technologies in a bid to achieve air superiority in a wartime scenario—for instance, an invasion of Beijing-claimed Taiwan.

Bitcoin is roaring and analysts say altcoins could be next
Bitcoin surged to a fresh all-time high above $111,000 on Wednesday, as institutional inflows and macroeconomic tailwinds continued to fuel investor appetite for the world’s largest crypto.
The rally, which has seen Bitcoin gain more than 18% since the start of May, was underpinned by steady demand for U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds.
Analysts say macro conditions have also played a role, including growing liquidity, a weakening U.S. dollar, and renewed geopolitical uncertainty.
Still, attention is beginning to shift toward whether the latest breakout could set the stage for renewed strength in altcoins, which have largely underperformed in the current cycle.
Bitcoin dominance, a measure of the asset’s market share, currently hovers near 61%. Mena Theodorou, co-founder of Australian exchange Coinstash, said a broader altcoin rally remains unlikely in the near term, citing the ongoing price discovery phase in Bitcoin.
“As Bitcoin continues into price discovery, it tends to absorb much of the market’s liquidity,” he said. “We’re more likely to see strength appear in select altcoins and sectors, rather than a broad-based rally.”

Are these the world’s worst drug companies?
Dr. Vernon Coleman thinks Pfizer, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline and Johnson & Johnson could be the worst drug companies in the world. Read on to find out why.
By Dr. Vernon Coleman
I’ve picked out some of the drug companies which I think are among the most evil in existence. Drug companies have worked tirelessly to suppress the truth and censor the truth tellers but staff members who are prepared to close their eyes to the crimes their employers commit are paid huge salaries and rewarded with honours.
1️⃣ Pfizer
In the UK, Pfizer was fined £84.2 million for overcharging the NHS by 2,600% and in the US, Pfizer was hit with a $2.3 billion fine for mis-promoting medicines and paying kickbacks to doctors.
2️⃣ AstraZeneca
In 2014, AstraZeneca agreed to pay $110 million to settle two lawsuits brought by the state of Texas, claiming that it had fraudulently marketed two drugs. The Texas Attorney General, when he announced the settlements, said the company’s alleged actions were “especially disturbing because the well-being of children and the integrity of the state hospital system were jeopardised.” AstraZeneca said it denied any wrongdoing.

Poland has more gold than the European Central Bank
Poland now holds more gold than the European Central Bank.
National Bank of Poland (NBP) governor Adam Glapiński noted this fact during a recent press conference, saying he views gold as a shield against global instability and a cornerstone of economic sovereignty.
Poland officially holds 509.3 tonnes of gold, making up about 22 percent of the country’s total reserves. Official ECB gold reserves stand at 506.5 tonnes.
Over the last several years, Poland has aggressively increased its gold reserves. In 1996, the NBP only held 14 tonnes of gold. The National Bank of Poland was the biggest central bank gold buyer in 2024 and stayed on top with continued purchases through the first three months of 2025, adding another 49 tonnes.
Last year, National Bank of Poland Governor Adam Glapiński indicated the central bank planned to increase its gold holdings to 20 percent of its reserves.
Why so much gold?
Glapiński said that it is not directly linked to any national economic policies, is a safe haven during crises, and retains its real value over the long term. When he announced the initial plan to expand its gold reserves in 2021, Glapiński said holding gold was a matter of financial security and stability.

One in two Belgians prepared to boycott US goods after tariffs
Nearly one in two Belgians is prepared to boycott US products, according to surveys by the Belgian press.
Belgians are turning away from American, Chinese, and Russian goods, a shift in consumption cutting across political lines, and reflects how tariffs have filtered down to day-to-day economic behaviour.
Imports from China and Russia are also falling amid a clear decline in Belgian purchases from both countries. The decline was not only due to prices and availability.
“The consumer has become morally sensitive, including in their economic choices,” business philosopher Jochanan Eynikel told Flemish public broadcaster VRT.
“People now think about the consequences of their purchases. Eating meat, for instance, is no longer just about taste or cost. A moral reflection comes into play: is this a responsible choice?” said Eynikel, who works with the entrepreneurship-focused think tank Etion.
Choosing not to buy Coca-Cola, for instance, becomes “a visible act of positioning,” he said.

Vance confronts EU leaders: Demands trade fairness and defense spending surge amid America First push
In a bold move that signals a new era of U.S.-EU relations, Vice President JD Vance stood firm in Rome last weekend, challenging European leaders to abandon their economic protectionism and step up their defense commitments — or face the consequences of America’s resurgent nationalist trade policies.
With the Trump administration’s 20% tariff threat looming over Europe, Vance made it clear: The days of free-riding on U.S. security and open markets are over. As the globalist elite cling to their failing economic models, Vance’s message cuts through the noise — either Europe aligns with American interests, or it risks being left behind in a world where sovereignty, not subservience, dictates success.
Vance met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to push for a U.S.-EU trade breakthrough. Vance demanded Europe increase defense spending to 5% of GDP, far beyond NATO’s 2% target, warning that the U.S. will no longer shoulder the burden alone.
Von der Leyen acknowledged the $1.5 trillion trade relationship but admitted “the devil is in the details” as both sides scramble for a deal.

Following Trump, EU foreign ministers to lift all economic sanctions against Syria
EU countries on Tuesday gave a green light to lifting all economic sanctions on Syria in a bid to help the war-torn country recover after the ouster of Bashar Assad.
Ambassadors from the EU’s 27 member states struck a preliminary agreement for the move, which should be formally unveiled by foreign ministers meeting in Brussels later in the day.
The decision from the European Union comes after US President Donald Trump announced last week that Washington was lifting its sanctions against Syria.
EU diplomats said the agreement should see sanctions cutting Syrian banks off from the global system and freezing central bank assets lifted. But the bloc was intending to impose new individual sanctions on those responsible for stirring ethnic tensions, following deadly attacks targeting the Alawite minority.
