It’s said that candlestick charts were created so rice traders could more easily study the price changes on a hand drawn chart.
The brilliance of candlestick charts is the amount of information they convey. Each candlestick shows the high, low, open, and close.
There are few other chart types that are capable of conveying an equal amount of information on the chart. For this reason, traders around the world use candlestick charts, but at the same time, most traders don’t know its complete history. Yes - candlestick charts have been used for hundreds of years, first to trade rice and now for crypto, stocks, FX, and countless other tradable assets.
