Mantle forms strategic alliance with TON Foundation

TON Foundation and Mantle Network announced a strategic alliance with a focus on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) Layer 2 solutions.

This collaboration aims to expand the potential of both ecosystems and ensure a smooth interaction between them. Mantle's role as a strategic EVM Layer 2 partner opens avenues for EVM-based projects to effortlessly bridge to TON.

The @community_bot will serve as both an educational and distribution platform. It will connect users in Mantle Network’s Telegram channels and Mantle Ecosystem project channels to TON's thriving community in Telegram.

Another important milestone is the bridging of Mantle Network's native token, $MNT, to TON. This development enhances access and interoperability for users in both ecosystems. ​TON Believers Fund raised 1.3 billion TON (~$2.8 billion)

As of today, TON Believers Fund has closed for new deposits.

Incredible achievements are created by community action and TON Believers Fund is a remarkable example of that.

Through a vision to bring predictability to Toncoin tokenomics, 1.3 billion TON or ~25% of the entire TON Supply has been locked in the Locker smart contract.

The result demonstrates the long-term commitment many contributors have to the Toncoin project. All participants have locked TON for two years, after which TON deposits will be vested monthly with rewards for a further three years.

​The architecture behind TON

A standout feature of The Open Network (TON) is its high scalability and throughput achieved through dynamic sharding.

TON Blockchain consists of one masterchain and up to 2^32 workchains, each further divisible into 2^60 shardchains. This design makes TON a blockchain of blockchains, facilitating diverse and interoperable operations. Here's a breakdown of its core components:

▪️ Masterchain: The core directory and primary chain, storing network configurations and final states of all workchains.

▪️ Workchain: The Masterchain splits into individual chains called Workchains. These are customized blockchains tailored for specific transactions or use cases.

▪️ Shardchain: Sub-chains of workchains, identified by a 60-bit shard prefix, allowing for extensive scalability.

▪️ TON Developers Community on Telegram experienced a 17.66% increase this Q3, growing from 9,134 members on July 1 to 10,747 on September 30. This expansion significantly enhances the collaborative spirit and depth of collective knowledge within the community.

▪️ The Hack-a-TON x DWF x AWS global hackathon, organized by TON Foundation with DWF Labs and Amazon Web Services, saw participation from 137 teams and boasted a substantial prize pool exceeding $415,000. This event fostered innovation and brought forth a plethora of innovative solutions, contributing to the robustness and versatility of the TON Ecosystem.

▪️ TON Tact Challenge, TON Society’s latest event, is currently underway. It offers participants the opportunity to not only learn a new language for TON development but also to compete for a share of the $30,000 prize pool.

▪️ With the TON Grants Program, over 100 proposals were received, leading to the approval of 10 projects and engagement from over 40 builders.

​Building a Web3 ecosystem in Telegram with Toncoin

On September 13, at TOKEN2049 in Singapore, TON Foundation and Telegram started working together to put crypto in every pocket. The heart of this collaboration is the deep integration and promotion of a TON-based Web3 ecosystem in Telegram.

TON Space
TON Space, the self-custodial version of @wallet, was launched. It is now accessible directly from the Telegram menu for existing @wallet users. Starting in November, it will become the default for all Telegram users, outside of the United States.

Bridging Web2 and Web3
Historically, crypto appealed primarily to a tech-savvy audience. TON seeks to change this, creating a bridge between Web2 and Web3. By building a Web3 ecosystem in Telegram, TON is making it convenient for millions to own their digital identity and assets. Meeting users where they are, instead of building complicated Web3 experiences the masses will never use.

Web3 SuperApp
Combining the TON Ecosystem with Telegram creates the first decentralized and global SuperApp. Telegram provides the user experience layer with Mini Apps. TON brings the Web3 projects and backend to manage and simplify digital transactions on a massive scale.

​TON Foundation enlists the support of Elliptic

TON Foundation has announced a collaboration with Elliptic, a leader in blockchain analysis, to provide the network with data intelligence and enhance the security of the TON Ecosystem.

Elliptic will diligently screen all TON wallet addresses, identifying and flagging those associated with bad actors. This initiative is aimed at safeguarding both users and projects from potential security threats.

Additionally, Elliptic will assist in listing Toncoin on new exchanges, a move aimed at amplifying liquidity within the TON Ecosystem and offering an expanded array of options for newcomers eager to embark on their journey with The Open Network.

This announcement follows TON Foundation's collaboration with Telegram, which has positioned TON as the sole Web3 infrastructure integrated with the messenger. Over the past year, the TON Community has experienced significant growth, with a 165% increase in registered accounts on TON.

The upcoming listing of Toncoin on various exchanges is expected to not only underscore TON’s continuous expansion but also create pathways for audiences across various chains, exchanges, and countries to engage with the innovative projects developed on TON.
