A community vote on optimizing TON tokenomics.
Voting day has arrived. We invite all Toncoin holders to take part in the community proposal of tokenomics optimization on ton.vote.
Ton.vote is a voting platform created by a community contributor, Orbs team, led by Tal Kol. This platform is open for all Toncoin holders, regardless of the size of their holdings or whether the person is a validator or not. While the result of this voting does not have a binding effect on the network itself, it empowers all Toncoin holders to cast a vote and let their voice and opinion on important matters be heard in the community.
The community vote will last for seven days from February 14 13:00 PM UTC to February 21 13:00 PM UTC. Once this vote is completed, the network vote – the vote casted by validators with their staked Toncoin – will take place from approximately February 21 to February 24.
After both votes are concluded, ton.vote will count and display a combined result along with various analytics to help better understand the demographics of voters.
It is important to note that the community vote cannot result in changing the blockchain configurations like the network vote can. However, the collective voice of the community is indeed of critical importance for the validators in making a decision that truly reflects the opinion of all types of Toncoin holders. We encourage every single Toncoin holder to take advantage of this opportunity.
Since the proposal was published, the community engaged in discussions through various avenues, both private and public.
On the one hand, advocates of the proposal argue that it does not break the tenets of decentralization if only the inactive early miners’ wallets are impacted. On the other hand, those who are against the proposal argue that such a move may be viewed as setting a negative precedent, especially to those who are not fully aware of all the circumstances.
We are encouraging everyone to read the two different arguments set forth by vocal members in the TON community, below, in order to make an informed decision.
Tal: https://blog.ton.org/adding-vesting-to-unclaimed-mining-rewards.
Vudi: https://blog.ton.org/freezing-inactive-accounts-of-the-first-miners.
Finally, on behalf of the community, we would like to thank those who made it possible to allow everyone to vote on the ton.vote platform and all of those who are voluntarily participating in this consensus process together.

Toncoin options are live on cryptocurrency exchange BIT
Toncoin (TON) stands alongside Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) as the third cryptocurrency available for options trading on Bit.com. This is a huge step forward for both the TON Ecosystem and wider cryptocurrency market. Also in the pipeline is for TON to be available on Paradigm, the institutional liquidity network for derivatives traders, making our token even more accessible to customers. This product launch has been made possible in collaboration with Darley Technologies and DWF Labs.
What is 'options trading'?
Options trading is a type of financial contract that gives owners the opportunity, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an asset at a prearranged price before a certain time. Options are a great way for crypto investors to manage their exposure and speculate on the future price of an asset with relatively low-risk.
What happens next?
In short, this sets the stage for TON to become one of the most actively traded digital tokens in the crypto options market. This is another use case for TON that significantly increases its accessibility to both institutional and retail traders. This new product offering, in combination with TON's innovative technology, positions TON for further success.
The TON blockchain is now on CoinCodex.
Cryptocurrency data website CoinCodex has added a page for the TON blockchain to its site and listed the main TON-based tokens with the help of Tegro.
CoinCodex is a popular crypto data aggregator behind only CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko and has over 1.5 million monthly visitors.
Tegro didn’t stop at CoinCodex — it also got the TON blockchain and TON-based tokens listed on CoinCheckup and Coinpaprika.
Community initiative to optimize tokenomics.
The @tonblockchain channel has published a proposal to optimize tokenomics in the TON network.
We publish this proposal and encourage to join its discussion in the comments.
“A Community Proposal for Tokenomics Optimization
On December 17, in response to repeated requests for greater certainty, clarity and transparency over the tokenomics of the TON network, the community has called for all early miners to activate their inactive mining wallets by the end of 2022.
Out of the 204 inactive mining wallets identified by the community, 195 wallets holding 1,081,426,228 Toncoin remain inactive today. These mining wallets — the genesis wallets that have mined Toncoin directly from the Proof-of-Work smart-contracts — have never been activated and do not have a single outgoing transfer in their history.
Toncoin is a gas required to access decentralized services on the TON network. It has been widely speculated that access to these inactive wallets may have been lost. What is clear is that there is a community consensus: the existence of these unutilized Toncoin only increases the uncertainty for the network participants.
TON is a community-driven blockchain, and we believe that the network validators should listen to the voice of the community.
Therefore, we are suggesting a validator vote for the proposal of tokenomics optimization, one that enables these inactive mining wallets to remain inactive for a certain period of time.
In spite of many community members pushing for a permanent inactivation, we believe in preserving the very idea that keeps us as one community: decentralization. For this reason, we are suggesting this period to be 48 months. This will give the TON ecosystem enough time to flourish while providing flexibility to those who may not be aware of these discussions in the community.
Like any network proposals, this will require at least 75% of the validator votes in two consecutive validation rounds to take effect.
The owners of the inactive mining wallets can always opt out by activating their wallets anytime before the end of February 15, 2023. The full list of inactive mining wallets can be found here: https://tontech.io/stats/early-miners.
We are proud that TON is a uniquely decentralized blockchain community. Our mission of decentralization can be achieved as long as we have the active participation of the community, which we have today.
We strongly encourage the community to discuss and voice their opinions about this proposal.”
WhoWhere — a new service offering TON-based 'NFT magnets' for visiting new countries.
A new Telegram bot called WhoWhere allows you search for link-minded people all over the world.
How does it work?
Users (such as travellers or expats) are able to find each other on a Telegram map, chat with one another and arrange live meetings.
For example, you can join the TON Community group here and you'll be able to see other TON enthusiasts nearby on a map.
After visiting a new country, you will have the opportunity to mint the Web3-equivalent of a souvenir magnet, a unique TON Soulbound NFT. This is one of the first applications of 'non-transferable token' technology to the wider TON Ecosystem audience.
If you are planning to travel and want to get your own NFT magnet, check out this guide!
TON is now compatible with Atomic Wallet
Toncoin (TON) holders can now store their holdings using Atomic Wallet, a non-custodial decentralized wallet with +5M users.
This provides TON holders with the opportunity to easily buy a variety of digital tokens and exchange them for TON.
Atomic Wallet's private, encrypted keys, and absence of account verification or KYC requirements aims to provide users with privacy and complete and unimpeded control of their TON holdings.
Being compatible with Atomic Wallet expands the usability of the TON network.
This latest adoption is another step forward on TON's path towards mass adoption.
Abu Dhabi’s Launch of ‘Hub71+ Digital Assets’ Opens up TON Foundation Ecosystem to $2 Billion Start-Up Hub
Today Hub71 is hosting a special event in Abu Dhabi to mark the launch of its new Web3 accelerator.
The new accelerator, Hub71+ Digital Assets, is designed to support Web3 projects working with a select group of blockchains, including TON.
This exciting partnership presents a unique opportunity for TON to collaborate with Hub71 on Abu Dhabi's digital asset ecosystem, mutual start-up funding support, marketing assistance, and more.
The launch event features keynote speakers from the cryptocurrency world, as well as leading Web3 organizations from the United Arab Emirates and beyond.

We invite you to read the TON Developer Community Report that has been published on the TON blog on the official website.
We would also like to remind you that software engineers have and will remain one of the top priorities for The Open Network’s ongoing development. If you want to contribute to TON’s development, please submit your ideas to TON’s social media (Twitter, Telegram, LinkedIn, etc.) or visit the TON Dev Telegram channel.

Tonstarter has created an ecosystem map of The Open Network.
Tonstarter, a TON-based launchpad, has put together an image depicting projects in the TON ecosystem. The included projects were selected and categorized according to their blockchain segment and how active they are in the community, which will be helpful for newcomers and communities of other networks to get acquainted with what TON has to offer.
Throughout 2022, the TON ecosystem witnessed the launch of many high-quality projects in DeFi, NFTs, SocialFi, GameFi, and other segments. Hundreds of projects are developing and integrating TON into their ecosystems, effectively sowing the seeds of growth for TON’s future.
The first opportunity to stake Jettons in the TON ecosystem
On Feb. 1, Fanzee launched its staking program powered by smart contracts, the first DeFi instrument allowing the staking of TON-based Jettons in TON’s history.
Users have three options for fixed staking — three, six, or 12 months — whereby participants receive special Bond NFTs that help guarantee liquidity for their staked coins.
The TON ecosystem is beginning to churn out more DeFi solutions, and we’re confident that Fanzee’s example is going to inspire more developers to build even better products and services.
TON's 2023 roadmap
The TON Foundation has updated its roadmap for 2023 and published a statement on the matter.
You can read the foundation's message here:
“TON Roadmap 2023
The roadmap for this year has been put together and published.
Over the last year, an ecosystem of various TON products has been rapidly built, ranging from decentralized exchanges and multifunctional wallets to marketplaces and blockchain games. Components of The Open Network were also launched including: TON DNS, TON Payments, TON Proxy, TON Sites, and TON Storage.
The first half of this year will be dedicated to harmonizing, improving and optimizing all of our current development projects to make TON as useful and convenient as possible for users.
The roadmap includes many TON improvements specifically designed to meet the needs of TON developers, providing them with the tools and resources they previously lacked.
TON is the only modern blockchain finding new, sometimes unexpected, ways to attract users. In the second half of the year, we aim to surpass all of our previous efforts with the goal of bringing even more users to TON.
Because we always try to solve the most pressing problems, and events are dynamically changing, Q3 and Q4 are not completely filled-in and additions will be made as our work progresses.
In technical terms, TON already surpasses all other existing blockchains by a large margin.
In order to confirm this, we have planned a show to demonstrate the real performance of TON and its ability to scale under heavy load.
Further developments for TON Proxy, TON Payments and TON Storage are described on separate pages.”
Megaton Finance has launched its highly anticipated DEX on TON.
To celebrate the long-awaited launch, Megaton is putting on two promo events for the TON ecosystem.

In light of this update, we are announcing a contest.
How to participate:
- Buy or sell TON via Mercuryo from Jan. 23 to Feb. 7 for at least 50$.
- Make a post with the tags #TON, #Tonkeeper, and #Mercuryo on any social media network.
