😝 Next month, channel owners on Telegram can start receiving financial rewards from their work.

Broadcast channels on Telegram generate 1 trillion views monthly. Currently, only 10% of these views are monetized with Telegram Ads — a promotion tool designed with privacy in mind.

In March, the Telegram Ad Platform will officially open to all advertisers in nearly a hundred new countries. Channel owners in these countries will start receiving 50% of any revenue that Telegram makes from displaying ads in their channels.

To ensure ad payments and withdrawals are fast and secure, we will exclusively use the TON blockchain. Similar to our approach with Telegram usernames on Fragment, we will sell ads and share revenue with channel owners in Toncoin. This will create a virtuous circle, in which content creators will be able to either cash out their Toncoins — or reinvest them in promoting and upgrading their channels 🤑

TON-margined futures on Storm Trade

Storm Trade, the first leveraged DEX for futures trading on TON, has released an update enabling the use of Toncoin (TON) for trading futures. This new feature enhances the trading experience by offering greater versatility in how users engage with the platform.

Based on our analysis and experience with the Telegram Ads platform, we've estimated the potential impact for advertisers. With Telegram channels generating a staggering 1 trillion impressions, our average CPM is $4.30. Telegram already captures 10% of this market, so it stands to reason that from March ± $215 million could already be paid out to advertisers. We estimate channels opting into Telegram Ads could earn a share of $215 million and $2.1 billion per month, all paid in Toncoin.

This initiative signifies not only a substantial revenue stream for Telegram and Telegram creators but also an entirely new utility for cryptocurrency and Toncoin. As with everything they do, Telegram wanted to do advertising differently, characterized by transparency and respecting user privacy. ​TON Grants & Bounties Q4 2023

One of the main purposes of TON Foundation is to support general ecosystem development by funding innovative projects and hosting different developer bounties. This leads to more services being built on TON and makes the blockchain more accessible for builders.

Grant Announcements

Out of 243 submissions, 18 exceptional projects have been chosen to receive a total of $350K in funding. These projects span various segments of the ecosystem, including GameFi, DeFi, and infrastructure improvements.

Some notable grant recipients include:

TonJump: As the first Web3 user-generated content game on Telegram, TonJump allows users to craft and share their own game maps. This integration of gaming with NFTs could significantly increase user engagement and demonstrates the flexibility of TON technology on Telegram.

DeDust.io: DeDust is creating a Mini App version of its DEX, narrowing the divide between TON’s DeFi services and Telegram's user base.

Xircus: This platform makes it easier to create and deploy Web3 applications, addressing a major challenge in blockchain development and encouraging creators to contribute to the TON Ecosystem.

27 bounty tasks were completed last quarter, with $50K in rewards distributed. DAOLama introduces ‘Buy NFT now, Pay later’

DAOLama, a pool-to-peer NFT lending protocol on TON, has launched a new feature allowing users to purchase NFTs at half their market price. This development is aimed at providing instant access to trust-less loans, enabling users to acquire digital assets with less money upfront.

How does it work?
The platform now offers the option for individuals to buy NFTs, like an Anonymous Number, for 68.16 TON when the floor price is 173 TON. The remaining balance of 106.3 TON can be settled within two weeks, with a minimal additional cost of 1.46 TON. Additionally, the payment for the purchased NFT can be completed within 28 days, with early repayment leading to a recalculated, possibly lower amount.

NFTs purchased via this option are stored in a smart contract, ensuring security and transparency. During this period, owners can sell the NFT with no commission, keeping all profits from any sale.

G-BOTS mobile game launch

The G-BOTS game has officially launched, marking an important milestone for the owners of G-BOTS NFTs. They can now log into the game using their wallets to play with their NFT robots.

The game introduces a battle royale format where players compete in a PvP (player-versus-player) arena. The G-BOT NFT collection, notable for being the first 3D NFT collection on TON, comprises 6,666 unique NFT robots. Since its inception a year ago, the collection has reached a trading volume of approximately 192,000 Toncoin (TON) and is verified on Getgems.

Following this mobile game launch, the next step involves introducing the game on Telegram via a TON-based Mini App, further expanding the platform's reach to the messenger’s 800 million monthly active users.

The game is currently available on the Play Store for Android users and on the App Store for iOS devices.

TON Accelerator Program

Since its inception in early 2023, the TON Accelerator Program has been at the forefront of empowering entrepreneurs to seamlessly integrate into the TON-based Web3 ecosystem in Telegram. Its mission is to provide a frictionless path for Web3 builders, enabling them to develop TON-based products that reach Telegram's 800 million monthly active users.

To date, three successful acceleration cohorts have supported a total of 20 innovative projects. This includes a notable collaboration with Future3 Campus, powered by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Capital. The upcoming cohort, scheduled to begin in late February, will be conducted online.

​TON's first Asia-focused Accelerator Program welcomes 12 projects

In November 2023, TON Foundation partnered with Future3 Campus, powered by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Capital, to launch its first Acceleration Program in Asia. This initiative aims to introduce builders to Telegram's TON-based Web3 ecosystem and boost Mini App development. Read more here.

From nearly 200 applications, 12 projects have been chosen for a 10-week curriculum focused on product development on TON Blockchain, compliant Web3 applications, go-to-market strategies, leveraging @Wallet in Telegram, and more. They will gain insights from industry experts and mentorship from leaders such as Dr. Xiao, Chairman & CEO of HashKey Group, Deng Chao, President & CEO of Hashkey Capital, and Dr. Zou, Chief Economist at HashKey Group.

Meet the selected teams:

▪️ Tradoor: A next-generation decentralized platform for trading derivatives, leveraging TON's scalability for an enhanced user experience.
▪️ NFBT Ticketing: A TON-based Telegram Mini App enabling movie theaters to sell tickets directly to users with TON wallets.
▪️ WowFish: The first social fishing TON-based game on Telegram.
▪️ Xircus: A pioneering no-code platform for building, deploying, and managing cross-chain dApps and Mini Apps on Telegram.
▪️ Bounty Bay: A​​ TON-native social commerce platform designed for creators and brands to distribute products effectively.
▪️ BOOM UP: A dynamic GameFi Mini App, offering a blend of social engagement and reward opportunities through building, defending, and enhancing personalized towers with NFT buffs built on TON.
▪️ Anome: An issuance and lending protocol for value-based, fully on-chain gaming NFT assets.
▪️ Telemetree: The first tailored analytics service for TON-based Telegram Mini Apps.
▪️ TonStash: Simplifies micro-investing using spare change to engage users with DeFi.
▪️ HypeSaints: An NFT-gated mobile playing console.
▪️ DaoBot: A decentralized community management bot on Telegram.
▪️ TonsofFriends: A dynamic directory where users can effortlessly buy and sell access to premium Telegram communities, streamlining group discovery in an enjoyable and rewarding manner.

At the end of the program, projects will showcase their products to industry leaders and investors at the 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Festival Demo Day. Top-performing teams may receive up to $500,000 in funding from the Future3 Campus Eco Fund.

​Introducing Open Sites

Shard Protocol, a multi-purpose and cost-effective solution for creating and storing digital artifacts, has launched Open Sites. This service enables the hosting of websites on TON Blockchain using the Shard Protocol.

Designed for accessibility and ease of use, Open Sites allows users to experience blockchain-based website hosting without the need for any additional extensions. This streamlined approach makes it accessible to everyone, bridging the gap between Web2 and Web3.

The first implementation of this technology is the TON Global Chat. This bot is designed to encourage users to explore the TON Community, participate in the chat, and solve puzzles. Each successful interaction and puzzle solved rewards users with in-game tokens known as WEB.

▪️ Open Sites offers a low-cost solution for building on-chain websites, covering both backend and frontend development.
