TON TVL has increased by over 2,200%

According to DefiLlama, the Total Value Locked (TVL) in TON increased by over 2,200% in the last four months to the current $18М.

We can attribute this to multiple factors, including the recently launched DeFi Liquidity Incentive Program, the continuous support for TON-based projects, and the ever-growing public interest in innovative TON dApps.

DeFi remains the dominant area of the ecosystem thanks to TON's scalable and shardable architecture, designed to process heavy network demand with near-instant and affordable transactions. The leading dApp with the highest TVL remains Megaton Finance, currently standing at $9.8M.

Over the last 30 days, the TVL on DeDust increased by over 371% to $4.8M while STON.fi achieved a growth of over 480% to $3.4M TVL.

TON Community votes to halve network fees

The community has voted in favor of burning 50% of all network fees, with an overwhelming majority supporting the proposal. Details about the vote can be found here. The community votes were distributed as follows:

98.22% voted for the introduction of the mechanism.
1.07% voted against.
<1% abstained.

The next step is the network validator vote, which will take place on June 15. For the new mechanism to be approved, it requires support from at least 70% of validators. Stay tuned for more updates on this significant ecosystem-wide vote.

TON Community has proposed implementing a deflationary mechanism to burn 50% of all network fees, including transaction and storage fees, in order to decrease the circulating supply.

​TON Community proposes burning 50% of network fees
The TON Community has proposed implementing a deflationary mechanic to burn 50% of all transaction fees, including transaction and storage fees, decreasing the Toncoin circulating supply.

This initiative is an essential step for the future development of the ecosystem, which unites the interests of users and validators.

TON validators receive staking rewards from two sources – transaction fees paid by users and new coins issued for each processed block. With further growth of the network adoption, fewer coins will enter circulation, and validators will still keep 50% of transaction fees for themselves. The deflationary mechanism will only affect the transaction and storage fees while the amount of newly issued coins remains unchanged.
The proposed burn ratio is 50% of all transaction fees paid by users.
We estimate the immediate burn amount will be around 350-400 TON daily, 50% of daily fees of 700-800 TON. As the TON ecosystem grows and the number of daily transactions increases, the burned amount will grow, eventually leading to a visible decrease in the total supply.

​bemo partners with DWF Labs to launch first liquid staking protocol on The Open Network (TON)

This is a massive event for the TON DeFi sphere.

So, how is liquid staking any different from traditional staking?

Unlike 'regular' staking, the bemo protocol allows Toncoin holders to receive rewards while maintaining control over their digital tokens.

How does it work?

When a user deposits TON into the pool, he is given stTON tokens in exchange, which are equivalent to their share in the pool. These stTON tokens can be used in any DeFi service without the need to remove the staked Toncoin.

​Join the new Hack-a-TON x DWF Labs x AWS hackathon with a $150,000 prize pool

TON Blockchain, together with DWF Labs and Amazon Web Services (AWS), has launched a new hackathon dedicated to DeFi and data analytics.

Participants will have the opportunity to join a vibrant community of Web3 developers, attend virtual seminars led by top industry experts, and showcase their innovative ideas.

The prize pool will be allocated as follows:

1st place: $150,000
2nd place: $110,000
3rd place: $70,000

Additionally, 17 finalist teams will each be given $5,000, while the remaining participants will be awarded unique NFTs. All payouts will be made in Toncoin (TON).

To participate, please submit your application here. The deadline is July 27, but we highly recommend applying as early as possible to give yourself more time to work and allow for the registration process and team approval.

​Today, TON Accelerator Program has announced that it will allocate up to $25 million this year to projects that have the potential to make a significant impact on the expanding TON Ecosystem.

The capital will be provided by TONcoin.Fund, a $250 million TON-based fund dedicated to supporting founders, and will be funneled into various key projects, with a particular focus on decentralized finance (DeFi). Each project will receive between $50,000 and $250,000.

In addition to funding, each investment will be accompanied by partnership and mentorship from our accelerator partners, including: Gotbit, a hedge fund and market-making company offering trading and risk management solutions; Web3Port, a developer of tools facilitating connections between Web3 startups and contributors to drive innovation; Tonstarter, the leading fundraising platform on TON; TEB, an incubator for Web3 developers based in South Korea; and Cypher Capital, a United Arab Emirates-based multi-strategy crypto investment firm.

The pool of TON Accelerator Program partners is anticipated to expand even further as TON Foundation continues to establish strategic partnerships with major accelerators in the Web3 space.

“We are delighted to unveil TON Accelerator Program as our ecosystem continues to evolve and attract new talent,” said Justin Hyun, Head of Incubation and Growth at TON Foundation. “This is the beginning of many different incubators which will be supported in the future. Funding forms part of our local hubs rollout strategy and our ecosystem will work to attract new developers as well as successful repeat founders, based across a variety of key global locations.”

“This is a program that is unique within the Web3 universe today,” said Bill Qian, Chairman of Cypher Capital. "TON Accelerator Program is taking the well-known incubator principle from the Web2 ecosystem, refining it, and evolving it by incorporating the best practices of Web3 protocols and methodologies. We are delighted to play our part in this next generation program.”

The initial selection of projects for the funding round will focus on those that took part in Hack-a-TONx DoraHacks, a two-month-long virtual hackathon organized in collaboration with DoraHacks. DoraHacks is a leading global hacker organization that acts as a bridge, connecting hackers to enterprise challenges and entrepreneurial ideas.

Submissions are currently open for all MVP-ready projects built on TON (i.e. support TVM & TON smart-contract language) that are seeking marketing, business, and technology support. Proof-of-concept or prototype teams that require initial technical support should apply for earlier-stage grants.

TONcoin.Fund x TON Accelerator Cohort Showcase, DWF tie up

The recently launched TON Accelerator program is hosting the first cohort showcase for TONcoin.Fund and its accelerator partners.

The projects have been sourced by the TON Foundation through three methods during the first half of the year:

1. A global hackathon with DoraHacks, which resulted in over 200 submissions. The event culminated in 10 winners who received a total of $300K for further development.
2. TON builder meetups, which included 15 hacker sessions with over 800 attendees in various cities around the world.
3. TON Accelerator submissions, which received over 100 entries in its first week of launch.

The showcase will feature eight early-stage projects that are building across different verticals, ranging from financial applications such as decentralized perpetual contracts to technical domains such as TON storage. Once the private session is completed, a publicly available version will be made for the community to view.

Additionally, DWF Labs, the global digital asset market maker and multi-stage Web3 investment firm, has joined as the newest member of the TON Accelerator partners.

Andrei Grachev, Managing Partner of DWF Lab, stated: “DWF Labs and their willingness to support DeFi primitives through liquidity provisioning will be instrumental in establishing a strong DeFi foundation on TON.”

He added: “DWF Labs has been a consistent supporter of projects on TON, as evident from their past investments.

Announcing a new TVM Challenge contest for smart contract developers offering a prize pool of 30,000 Toncoin!

We invite developers to join the new TVM Challenge competition to demonstrate their skills and explore new options for using opcodes, which will be presented in the upcoming TVM update.
