For all the newcomers: I’ve been in the game since 2017, made my money over the years, even retired in 2021, but came back in Dec 2022 because I genuinely love this space. I’m saying this to welcome you all and reinforce a few key points, especially for the new faces in our community.

I don’t mind losing because my risk management is strong, and overall, I win much more than I lose. But I get it—when you're starting, it’s easy to all-in on plays, FOMO into hype, sell early on winners, or never sell even after a 100x. I’ve been there. So, here’s some advice that’s made a big difference for me, plus some key crypto terms you’ll see around here.

Important Points

1. Risk Management is Key

Probably the most important aspect of trading. Most people struggle here until they really learn. Think of it like your dad warning you, but you only get it after making mistakes.

My suggestion: Only invest a max of 1% of your capital on something (exceptions are BTC, ETH, SOL—where you can go heavier but remember, all crypto investments carry macro risks, so diversify outside of crypto too).


2. Focus on Learning and Executing

Winning or losing doesn’t matter if you’re building knowledge and executing well. The goal is to start winning consistently over the long term. That’s how you grow not only your portfolio but also your skills and mindset.


3. Find People You Admire and Can Learn From

One of the best moves I made in 2017. Crypto is a unique place to connect with people online; you can reach out to almost anyone. Be respectful, stay humble, and you’ll get far.

But here’s the thing—don’t spam people with basic stuff you could learn on your own! Try things out first, then reach out.

4. Be Honest, Be Integral

To succeed in crypto long-term, integrity is crucial. Sure, some bad actors do well for a while, but they always fall—and the higher they rise, the harder the crash. Just look at Sam from FTX for a lesson.


5. Learn Basic Technical Analysis (TA)

Knowing TA can help optimize your entries and exits, especially in low-liquidity plays like memecoins. If you’re just following someone (like me), start learning the basics and doing your own research. And if you’re up 2x, especially on meme plays, consider taking out your initial investment and letting the rest ride.

Cabal: A group with serious money or connections, working together. E.g., "Cabal coin" launched by an influential group.

Alpha: Info about a potential play that sounds promising. Can be good or bad—info isn’t always 100%, but it’s often worth the risk.

FOMO: Fear of Missing Out—buying emotionally because you’re afraid you’ll miss out. We’ve all done it. Sometimes it works, but patience and timing are key. Nothing goes straight up forever.
