Beds were not meant to require internet connection.

During the AWS US-EAST outage on October 20th, people flooded the internet complaining about their smart beds from EightSleep

Because of the AWS outage, the smart beds were unable to recline or change positions. Additionally, any heating or cooling setting didn't work. People went online to complain the beds sensor had the bed stuck at an elevated temperature.

The EightSleep subreddit was filled with angry customers. The CEO issued an official apology on social media. However, he asserted the AWS outage was outside his control.

I sit here wondering why a bed requires access to AWS instances to ... recline and heat and/or cool...

If you have been making frequent typos while writing on iPhone, then it's not you but iOS keyboard

Basically, a bug in iOS is causing the keyboard to randomly insert the wrong letter instead of what you typed. Some users are experiencing it since iOS 16 atleast. The bug was clearly visible when the 120fps typing video was played at 1/4th speed or 0.25x speed

Microsoft issued an out-of-band cumulative update, KB5070773, for Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2 (builds 26100.6901 and 26200.6901). The company releases such updates only when a critical issue requires immediate resolution outside the regular monthly cycle. This update specifically addresses a problem introduced by the October 14, 2025 Patch Tuesday update KB5066835.

The issue caused USB keyboards and mice to cease functioning within the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE), thereby blocking access to all recovery options. USB peripherals continue to operate normally in the standard Windows environment. Given the widespread reliance on USB input devices and the lack of alternative ports on modern systems, Microsoft acted to restore WinRE functionality before the problem affected additional devices.

Most AI powered browsers are vulnerable to prompt injection

A user on twitter has successfully managed to prompt inject OpenAI's ChatGPT powered Atlas browser.

Brave browser has figured out that Comet AI browser by Perplexity is also vulnerable to prompt injection.

Perplexity Comet’s AI assistant can take screenshots of websites and analyze them for users.
However, Comet will also follow instructions hidden on a webpage that it screenshots.

OpenAI Introduced ChatGPT Atlas, a GPT powered browser to challenge Google Chrome

OpenAI has released a new browser with integrated ChatGPT. It can:

• See the page you’re on and answer your questions right there via the Ask ChatGPT sidebar.

• Offer suggestions wherever you're typing on the web.

You can simply ask ChatGPT to open, close, reopen, bookmark or revisit any of your tabs. Agent mode in Atlas completes tasks faster as you browse the web.

Chatgpt Atlas browser is available in preview for Plus, Pro, and Business ChatGPT users. It is only available on Mac for now with support for windows, Android and iOS coming soon.

The latest Windows 11 updates break localhost (127.0.0.1) HTTP/2 connections

Microsoft's October Windows 11 updates have broken the "localhost" functionality, making applications that connect back to 127.0.0.1 over HTTP/2 no longer function properly.

When attempting to do so, they received errors like "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET" or "ERR_HTTP2_PROTOCOL_ERROR

Windows 11 KB5066835 Patch Tuesday, and even September's KB5065789 preview update are currently affected alongside Windows 2025 Server System.

The good news is -- Microsoft has now fixed Windows bug breaking localhost HTTP connections. Please update your Windows 11 to install the bug fix update.
