Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai Raises Over $3 Million to Support Tanzanian Girls’ Education
During her birthday visit to Kongwa District, Dodoma Region, Malala Yousafzai urged parents and guardians to keep girls in school, citing challenges like teenage pregnancies and long travel distances.
Malala explained that the Malala Fund partners with local groups like the Msichana Initiative to help girls return to school and pursue their dreams.

New Hope for Africa's Iconic Giraffes as Conservation Efforts Yield Positive Trends
Despite ongoing threats and historical declines, three of the four distinct species of African giraffe are now showing positive population trends, according to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation's (GCF) "State of the Giraffe 2025" report.
👉 Key findings indicate:
🦒 The Northern giraffe, though still highly threatened, has seen a nearly 20% population increase in five years, reaching 7,037 individuals;
🦒 The Reticulated giraffe population, estimated at 20,901, is also showing encouraging upward trends;
🦒 The Southern giraffe has experienced the most remarkable growth, with a 50% increase in just five years, now numbering an estimated 68,837 individuals;
🦒 Masai giraffe populations in Kenya remain stable and resilient, while those in Rwanda and Zambia continue to expand.
The GCF attributes this progress to enhanced data collection methods, frequent surveys, and strengthened collaborations, which have led to more accurate strategic conservation actions.
To further bolster conservation efforts, the GCF has also launched the Giraffe Africa Database (GAD), a centralized platform designed to revolutionize giraffe population monitoring across the continent.
