Russia Converted Aerial Target To Suicide Drone
The Russian military has successfully converted the Dan aerial target into a suicide drone, Ukrainian media reported on May 29.
The Dan was developed by the Kazan OKB “Sokol” for use in air defense tests and exercises. The system, which is powered by a turbojet engine, is meant to mimic fixed-wing aerial targets with higher speeds, including cruise missiles and fighter jets.
The aerial target has an endurance of 25-40 minutes and speed of 400-750 kilometers per hour. It is also highly maneuverable and can be equipped with electronic warfare systems.
According to Ukrainian media, the Russian military has used a version of the Dan converted into a suicide drone to attack several targets of Kiev forces.

What Happened To Syria’s Pantsir-S Air Defense Systems?
The fate of Syria’s fleet of Pantsir-S air defense systems came into question on May 28 as one vehicle was spotted being moved in the coastal city of Latakia, in the first such sighting since the fall of the regime of president Bashar al-Assad last December.
Syria was among the first countries to purchase the advanced air defense system from Russia. The country is reported to have received at least 57 systems from the S1 and the upgraded S2 versions. The delivery began before 2011, and continued well into the war.
The main armament of Pantsir-S systems in service with the Syrian Arab Air Defense Forces (SyAADF) was the 57E6-E missile, with a range of 18 kilometers and altitude of 15 kilometers.
During the war in Syria, the system was credited with several kills against Turkish aircraft, from an F-4 fighter jet in 2011 to multiple Bayraktar TB2 and TAI Anka combat drones in 2020.

While the foreign jihadists of the Tahrir al-Sham regime continue to carry out a quiet genocide of Alawites on the coast, impose their Puritanical laws on Christians, and their leader hopes for recognition from the United States and the Zionists, China, in its unique style, is gradually beginning to settle in the “new Syria”.
It recently became clear that the Chinese are behind the French shipping giant CMA CGM, which has settled in Latakia. Italian journalist and former militant of the Kurdish YPG forces, Karim Franceschi, described what was happening as follows: “Beijing doesn’t build ports just to move goods, it builds them to move power.
Latakia is now part of China’s expanding global port network; designed for win-win development, military reach, political leverage, and surveillance”.

Today, SouthFront shares the 19th part of the series titled “The Last Battle of the Unknown War”. World War II ended in Europe in May 1945, but the war kept going on in the Far East.
In February of the year, at the Yalta Confederation, the members of the Big Three signed a secret agreement under which the Soviet Union committed to enter the war with Japan two to three months after the end of hostilities in Europe.
The Soviets kept their word. On August 8, Moscow declared war on Japan. In a rapid, large-scale offensive, the Red Army liberated the Kurils and South Sakhalin, which were taken away by the Japanese after the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905. Soviet troops also helped liberate Northeast China and Korea from Japanese colonial enslavement.
After suffering its worst defeat during the war, Japan officially capitulated. That was the last battle of WW II.
