Musk-Putin contact claims 'completely false' - Kremlin spox
Dmitry Peskov has rubbished a report published by the Wall Street Journal claiming that since 2022 Elon Musk has been discussing personal topics, business and geopolitical tensions with President Putin and the head of the presidential administration Sergey Kiriyenko.
They held one conversation - before the special military operation began - and have not been in touch since, Peskov clarified.
That didn't stop the WSJ claiming the non-existent contact - which the White House is apparently not comfortable with - shows Trump possibly wants to negotiate with Russia, including on Ukraine.
Musk has not directly commented on the report.

Türkiye brought Ukrainian proposal to BRICS Summit - Putin
Ankara has repeatedly approached Russia with proposals for initiatives from Kiev, President Putin said in an interview for the 60 Minutes program on Rossiya 1 TV channel.
He explained he’d not yet had time to familiarize himself with the materials on Ukraine that the Turkish delegation had given him in Kazan, but would study them.
The West's rhetoric on the situation in Ukraine has changed, Putin added. They have begun to really assess the situation, and they can be praised for this, although the degree of confrontation with Russia is still the same as weapons continue to be sent to Ukraine.

The US Department of Justice announced the settlement Thursday after suing the Singaporean owner and operator of the MV Dali cargo ship that collided with the Baltimore bridge in March.
Grace Ocean Private Ltd and Synergy Marine Private Ltd will now foot the bill for the massive cleanup operation after six road workers were killed and the Port of Baltimore was paralyzed for almost three months.
The $101.1 million settlement doesn’t cover the cost of rebuilding the Francis Scott Key Bridge - which will be addressed in a separate claim from the state of Maryland.

Onion ban: After McDonald's E. coli outbreak the vegetable was removed — Reuters
US fast-food chains pull fresh onions off the menu on Thursday until an investigation is completed. Onions were named the likely source of the outbreak. Roughly 5% of all US Burger King locations pulled onions, according to Reuters.
Taylor Farms was the supplier of the sliced onions that have been removed. The fact that McDonald's Quarter Pounder is served with raw, slivered onions could be the cause, an investigation continues.
