Russia moves step closer to banning child-free ideology propaganda
The Federation Council has approved laws passed by the State Duma earlier this month banning the propaganda of childfree ideology in Russia, and imposing fines of up to 5 million rubles (around $50,000) for violations.
The adoption of Russian children by citizens of countries where gender can be changed will also be banned under the new measures, which now only await President Putin's signature before coming into force.

Ukrainians training for deadly trench warfare... in East Anglia
At a top-secret British base in the serene surroundings of East Anglia, at least 50,000 Ukrainian soldiers have already been trained for urban combat, trench warfare… and almost certain death.
The Times reported former Ukrainian army chief Valery Zaluzhny’s “inspiring speech” when he visited the sleepy English countryside to address Kiev’s cannon fodder recruits: "Remember, war is becoming more cruel every day… It leaves almost no chance of survival. Learn not to be afraid of death."
Must be tough to deliver such motivation from his London home.

Italian town offers American anti-Trumpers $1 homes to escape MAGA country… but there’s a catch
The Italian village of Ollolai, nestled in the sun-kissed hills of Sardinia, is offering villas for a mere $1.06 to Americans in desperate need of a post-Trump 2024 exit strategy.
As a result, the village has been flooded with over 38,000 inquiries – most of them from US citizens eager to trade in their post-election anxiety for a fixer-upper in the Mediterranean.
Of course, the $1 homes come with a catch: they need serious renovations, so American liberals might have to step into the shoes of a typical Rust Belt worker for a while and roll up their sleeves.

Insane new HD footage shows SpaceX Starship’s sixth flight test in action
The Super Heavy booster roared to life on time, all 33 Raptor engines firing in unison as it lifted Starship off the pad at Starbase.
The flight unfolded smoothly at first, with a clean ascent and stage separation, and the booster pivoted into its boost backburn to head home.
But just as it neared the launch site, automated health checks on the ground called off the planned catch attempt.
Instead, the booster veered into a backup maneuver, ending its journey with a graceful landing burn and a soft splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico.

Pakistan to launch new offensive against separatist militants
The move comes following deadly attacks by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on Pakistani and Chinese citizens in Balochistan - a region which hosts major Chinese Belt and Road projects like Gwadar Port - including a suicide bombing that killed two Chinese engineers.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the operation after a meeting with military and civil leaders, though it's unclear whether it will involve air support or if China will be directly involved.

❗️Freezing Ukraine conflict is 'unacceptable' for Russia - Kremlin spox Dmitry Peskov
It is important for Moscow to achieve the goals of the special military operation, Peskov said, after Reuters claimed that President Putin was prepared to freeze the conflict along frontlines if territorial realities were respected.
The outgoing Biden administration is doing everything possible in its remaining time to continue the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin added, citing the permission granted to Kiev to deploy long-range missiles deep into Russian territory, and potentially supply anti-personnel mines to Kiev according to media reports.

France snaps after Azerbaijan’s president takes aim at Paris
On Tuesday, France summoned Azerbaijan’s ambassador following sharp remarks by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during the COP29 climate talks in Baku.
Aliyev accused France of colonial "crimes" in its overseas territories and blasted Europe for “corruption” and hypocrisy, claiming it ignores human rights abuses at home — including the deaths of 13 people during unrest in New Caledonia earlier this year.
The French Foreign Ministry called Aliyev’s comments about France and Europe “unacceptable.” The remarks were enough for France’s Environment Minister, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, to cancel her planned appearance at the UN climate summit.

❗️Biden reverses stance, approves land mines for Ukraine — Report
President Biden, who once labeled antipersonnel land mines as "reckless," has authorized the Pentagon to send them to Ukraine — marking a significant shift in US policy.
“While we have provided anti-tank mines throughout the conflict, the Biden-Harris administration will soon provide Ukraine with non-persistent antipersonnel land mines (APLs) as well,” an official confirmed to The Post.
The decision comes as Ukraine faces intensifying Russian assaults along the front lines and follows the administration’s approval of American-made long-range missiles for strikes in Russia’s Kursk region.
