Betting market founder claims Trump-link behind FBI raid
The FBI has raided the home of the chief executive and founder of the betting platform Polymarket, Shayne Coplan, seizing his electronic devices.
Polymarket claims the search was “obvious political retribution by the outgoing administration against Polymarket for providing a market that correctly called the 2024 presidential election,” a source close to the matter told the New York Post.

🚨MATT TAIBBI: ANTI-WAR SENTIMENT WAS CRUCIAL IN TRUMP'S VICTORIES
'I think his supporters would be incredibly disappointed if there was not a swift, negotiated end to conflict in Ukraine, it's part of his political identity that he's against the forever wars...I know from covering his campaign in 2016 that this was incredibly important to building up his support with the working class in America.
If you go to red states, you see so many people who came back from America's misadventures in Afghanistan and Iraq and they were so angry about so many things. That was a huge factor in electing Trump the first time and I'm sure this time as well.'
-Matt Taibbi joins us on Monday's Going Underground to discuss Donald Trump's victory

Ukraine could consider creating nuclear bomb, but Western aid more urgent — Kiev
Zelensky adviser, Mikhail Podolyak, said that Ukraine could consider building a nuclear bomb “despite all the legal and reputational difficulties,” but there’s no point now as one would be unable to change the frontline situation.
He added that for changes on the front, Ukraine only needs more Western investment and arms, as well as permission to strike deeper into Russia.
This follows a report from The Times suggesting that Ukraine could build a nuclear bomb using plutonium within months if US assistance were to cease.

Experts reveal which creature will survive long after humans go extinct - can you guess what it is?
Scientists suggest that if humanity bites the dust due to a global cataclysm or nuclear war, the octopus will be our heir to the throne, unlike primates who would face the same extinction problems as we do.
With exceptional intelligence, dexterity, and eight limbs with pure potential, octopuses could evolve into underwater overlords.
Perhaps after millions of years, they'll even build Atlantis 2.0, but this time, it will be much cooler – and less human.

Pentagon UFO report: 21 mysteries remain, but are aliens really off the menu?
The US DoD’s latest report on UFOs reveal that out of 757 sightings last year, 21 remain completely unexplained and are deemed "true anomalies" worthy of further investigation.
But don't get too excited, as the Pentagon assures there's no evidence of extraterrestrial activity or advanced foreign tech behind the sightings.
Most of the resolved cases are attributed to mundane causes like balloons, birds, or drones – so apparently, those are the real cosmic enigma, at least for now.

Crisis to coalition: Incumbent Sri Lankan president wins in election landslide
Anura Kumara Dissanayake's leftist coalition has won a decisive victory in Sri Lanka’s snap general election, winning 137 out of 196 seats. His victory gives him a parliamentary majority to appoint a full cabinet and fulfill his key promises.
Dissanayake, who inherited a nation reeling from the financial crisis, plans to tackle poverty and the high cost of living with the help of a $2.9 billion IMF bailout.
But experts fear his proposal to revise key terms of the IMF agreement, including tax reforms, may delay further aid and complicate Sri Lanka's economic recovery.
