VICTORY AND POWER THROUGH OUR HANDS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed (Exodus 17:11).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━
In the next few days, I'll be explaining certain mysteries, which you can practise and have amazing results as shown to us in the Scriptures. These mysteries are imperceptible to the human mind, but they're things we learn from studying the Word. For example, Exodus 17:8-16 tells a beautiful story that shows one of such powerful mysteries. The Amalekites attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. Moses then instructed Joshua to lead the people in battle while he stood on a hill with the staff of God in his hand.
Then the Bible says, "And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed" (Exodus 17:11). Aaron and Hur noticed that there was a connection between the lifting of Moses' hands and the victory in the battle. So, when Moses' hands grew tired, they brought a stone for him to sit on and held up his hands, one on either side, ensuring that his hands remained raised until they vanquished Amalek by sunset.
God then told Moses, "...Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven" (Exodus 17:14). This made Joshua to understand how the battle was really won. The secret was in the spirit: the lifting up of Moses' hands.
There's victory and power through your hands. The psalmist said in Psalm 141:2, "Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice." Also, the apostle Paul said, "I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands..." (1 Timothy 2:8). Practise this and you'll see greater successes and profound victories in your life, in your finances, health, job, ministry and everything that concerns you. Even now, lift your hands to the Lord; it's a strategy of the Spirit for your continual victory and life of ever-increasing glory. Hallelujah!

YOU RECEIVED SOMETHING WHEN YOU BELIEVED
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16)
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━
The most beautiful part of the Gospel is not only that Jesus bore our sins and sacrificed Himself for us, but that He gave us something in return—eternal life. One of the most well-known verses in the Bible is John 3:16 and it says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
This means anyone who believes in Jesus Christ receives eternal life. It’s a guarantee! The moment you believe in Jesus, you have it. You don’t have to wait for it or hope for it; you have it immediately. John 6:47 says, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” It’s not a promise of something to come in the future. If you believe, you already have it!
Often, I ask people, "Do you believe in Jesus?" and some would say yes. Then I’d say, "Did you receive anything when you believed?"* I found that most weren’t sure. They weren’t taught that something extraordinary happened as a result of their believing in Jesus. The Master was clear: ..He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”
1 John 5:11-12 says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”* Notice the tenses: if you have Jesus Christ, you have eternal life. So, don’t pray for eternal life. The 13th verse is absolutely remarkable; it says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life... (1 John 5:13).
God wants you to know that you have eternal life. This knowledge changes everything. When you know that you have eternal life, it impacts the way you live. You no longer live in fear or uncertainty but in confidence and victory. Hallelujah!

12. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
13. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

STAY IN THE WORD
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth (Ephesians 6:1-3).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Someone asked the question: "How powerful are curses or blessings spoken by parents over their children?" Such curses or blessings, according to the Bible, have impactful implications; they could be quite powerful. When you study the Bible, you'd find blessings by parents and curses by parents and how they came to pass.
Being born again, it's important to understand that we're called into a life of blessings by God. We were called to inherit a blessing (1 Peter 3:9). If, however, you had a problem with your parents before you were born again and they pronounced a curse on you, now that you're born again, that curse will no longer have any effect. You should nevertheless go and reconcile with them. That's important. If reconciliation is impossible or difficult, consult your pastor. Your pastor can counsel you and guide you on what to do next.
If you were already born again and then your parent cursed you, generally, that curse will not work. However, if your actions were contrary to the Word of God, you could face real trouble. This is because being outside the Word of God places you in a vulnerable position where such a curse could have an effect on you. Remember the lsraelites in Egypt: when the death angel was to come into Egypt, God instructed them to mark their doorposts with blood. This marked them out from the Egyptians, protecting them from harm.
Similarly, staying within the Word of God and functioning according to God's principles keeps you protected. If you live outside the Word, you open yourself to potential danger; you break the hedge as it were. And the Bible says, ..whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him" (Ecclesiastes 10:8).
God wants us to live in peace, for He has called us to peace, especially with our parents. The Bible teaches us to honour our parents as stated in Ephesians 6:1-3, which is a quote from Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16. This commandment comes with a promise: that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth. Christian parents should also never curse their children but bless them.

THE FULL PICTURE OF THE GOSPEL MANDATE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen (Mark 16:20).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━
When you study the Synoptic Gospels—Matthew, Mark and Luke—you'd observe different perspectives to the Lord's instruction with respect to the preaching of the Gospel. However, one theme stands out: The Gospel is to be preached to every man, woman, boy and girl; it's for all nations.
Mark gives us a clear structure for our mission as read in our opening scripture. The disciples went forth and preached everywhere; they did their part, and the Lord did His part by confirming the Word they preached with signs. This makes our responsibility clear: We preach the Word, and it's the Lord's responsibility to confirm it with signs following.
In Luke 24:46-47, we see another significant aspect of the Master's instructions. Luke, who had a deep understanding of the events surrounding Jesus' ministry, adds a crucial point about the content of the Gospel that we're to preach: repentance and remission of sins, "...Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."
While Matthew emphasized teaching all that Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:19-20), and Mark focused on preaching the Gospel which the Lord confirms with signs (Mark 16:19-20), Luke gave us the full picture. The Lord's message was not just to teach or preach but to declare repentance and remission of sins among all nations.
The early disciples initially kept the message within the Jewish community. They may have thought the Gospel was only for the Jews scattered among the nations, or perhaps they misunderstood the global scope of the Lord's command. But the Gospel was always meant for all nations, for every creature (Mark 16:15). This revelation became clear through discussions like those recorded in Acts 15, where they finally embraced the full scope of the Lord's mission.
Today, we carry that same mission, teaching all that Jesus commanded, preaching the Gospel to every creature and to all nations, declaring repentance and the remission of sins in His Name. And the Lord continues to work with us, confirming His Word with signs following. Praise God!

Matthew 28:18-20; And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
Acts 15:7-9; And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men [and] brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as [he did] unto us;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

FORGIVENESS IS IN THE PACKAGE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins (Acts 5:30-31).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━
What we just read brings to mind the words of the Lord Jesus when He appeared to Saul of Tarsus. He told him He was sending him to the Gentiles, "To open their eyes...that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me" (Acts 26:18).
Notice the emphasis in the latter part on receiving forgiveness of sins, not asking for it. You're to "take" forgiveness of sins. Read that latter part again and see the connection between receiving forgiveness of sins and our inheritance; they're both under the same Greek word "Lambano."
The same way you receive an inheritance is how you receive forgiveness. Just as it's pointless to ask for your inheritance again and again, for the Bible says in Him (Christ Jesus) we have obtained an inheritance (Ephesians 1:11), it's superfluous to keep asking God for forgiveness. That's because in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, forgiveness is in the package; you receive it and make it yours.
Read 1 John 1:9 and notice that it doesn't say, "ask for forgiveness"; rather, it says to acknowledge your sins. Why? It's because He's already provided for your forgiveness. What He wants you to do is to obtain forgiveness; receive it.
It's important that we teach people the accurate Word of God. If Satan can keep you asking for forgiveness again and again and you aren't sure whether or not you're being forgiven, he will make you ineffective in your Christian life and unable to do the things that God has called you to do. Your faith will be weak. The Father knows this, and that's the reason He provided for your forgiveness.
If you did something wrong in your life and you are thinking about what to do, stop asking and trying to wait to know whether or not God has forgiven you; receive ("lambano"—Greek) forgiveness; take it! You say, "Father, I acknowledge that this thing I did is wrong, and I receive forgiveness in the Name of Jesus." That puts the responsibility on you not on God. It's no longer a question of whether or not God has forgiven you; rather, it's about whether you have received what He already made available to you. Forgiveness is part of that Gospel package. Hallelujah!
🙏 PRAYER
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Dear Father, I rejoice in the inheritance I have obtained in Christ, knowing that forgiveness is part of the Gospel package. IGNITE THE "FIRE" BY MEDITATING ON THE WORD
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue (Psalm 39:3).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The psalmist in the verse above said, "While I was musing, the fire burned"; that tells us something powerful about meditation: it causes the spiritual fire to burn; it fuels your inspiration. What are your expectations, plans, targets, goals and aims for the incoming year? You can put yourself on the right track and fuel your inspiration by taking time to meditate on the Word.
Jeremiah, like the psalmist, in Jeremiah 20:9, decided not to speak any more about God, but the fire within him—God's Word in his heart—burned so intensely that he couldn't hold back: "Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay." Jeremiah 5:14 says, "Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them." Also, in Jeremiah 23:29, the Bible says, "Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?"
God's Word is described as fire and a hammer that breaks rocks into pieces. You're already filled with the Holy Spirit; therefore, the fire of God is in your spirit. But to ignite the fire, you must meditate on the Word. When the Word is in your heart as a burning fire, you cannot keep quiet; you'll always maintain inspiration.
We just read from two prophets, David and Jeremiah, who knew how to burn for God, and they shared their secret: meditating on God's Word. It emboldens you to speak the Word with passion and conviction. So, as you pray and fast in preparation for the coming year, make sure you consciously meditate on God's Word.
Pray fervently in tongues, and meditate on the Word until you get to the point where you release this "fire" from within you and enforce the victory the Lord Jesus Christ has wrought in your behalf.

ACCEPT WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt before God] (Romans 4:25 AMPC).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
When we say "Jesus died for the whole world," it's a generic expression indicating that He died for all humanity. So, in that generic sense, Jesus was condemned in our place. He was judged for all of us. But when you believe in Him, two significant things happen. First, your acceptance and acknowledgement that His vicarious sacrifice was in your behalf makes it possible for you to receive eternal life.
Receiving eternal life means you're born again; you're now a brand new person, without a past: "...if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Then, now that you're a new creature in Christ Jesus, it's essential to understand that in the actual sense, Jesus didn't die for the sins of this new man in Christ because the new life you received upon the New Birth is the God-life; it's not tainted with sin.
The new man in Christ was created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24). Colossians 3:10 says you "...have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." This realization leads to the understanding of why you're justified. The Bible says, "Jesus Christ was delivered up on account of our transgressions but He was raised for our justification" (Romans 4:25).
Now, being justified, you're at peace with God and have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Those who don't understand this truth struggle daily, "trying" to be righteous and to please God. But the key is to simply accept the truth of what Jesus Christ has done and live by it.
🙏 PRAYER
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of my brand-new life in Christ. I celebrate the truth that I am a new creation in Him, with old things completely passed away. I fully embrace my new identity and live in the fullness of eternal life that you have imparted to me. I declare that I am justified and empowered to live righteously, free from any past struggles, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Galatians 2:20-21; I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Romans 5:12-17; Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also [is] the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, [which is] by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as [it was] by one that sinned, [so is] the gift: for the judgment [was] by one to condemnation, but the free gift [is] of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
2 Corinthians 5:17; Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

FRIDAY 27
JESUS—THE FULLNESS OF DEITY IN BODILY FORM
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell (Colossians 1:19).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are eternally existent and manifested in Jesus. Each person of the Trinity has a distinct personality. Yet, Jesus is the bodily manifestation of the Godhead; He encompasses the fullness of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Colossians 1:19 says, "For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell." Colossians 2:9 further emphasizes this; it says, "For in him (Jesus Christ) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
This means the fullness of deity, the fullness of the Godhead, resides in Jesus in bodily form. If you want to find the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in one body, it's in Jesus. Hebrews 1:1-3 lends further credence to this; it says, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person...."
In other words, Jesus is the exact replica or representation of God the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:10, "The Father is in me, and I am in the Father." This reinforces the idea that Jesus is the manifestation of the Father. When you see Jesus, you see the Father; He embodies the character and essence of the Father: "...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father..." (John 14:9).
1 Timothy 3:16 encapsulates it beautifully: "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." Observe that it says "seen of angels." The angels, who had never seen God the Father's form, saw Him for the first time when Jesus came. He made the invisible God visible even to the heavenly beings, demonstrating the profound mystery and majesty of the Trinity. Praise God!
🙏 PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation of Jesus, who He is—the bodily manifestation of the Godhead. TREAT PEOPLE WELL
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another (Romans 12:10).
Pastor Chris says
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Did you know that what you give to others—the treatment you mete out to them—is actually unto God? That's what the Bible says: "If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD—and he will repay you!" (Proverbs 19:17 NLT). So, when you do good things for others, never complain about it; instead, be glad.
Once you complain about the good you're doing, you destroy the effectiveness of it. Remember what the Bible says: do all things without complaining, and by so doing, you show yourself to be a true child of God without fault, manifesting His light in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation (Philippians 2:14-15).
When you're kind and affectionate to others, you don't have to expect anything from them in return, for the Bible says, "of the Lord you shall receive your reward:" "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ" (Colossians 3:23-24).
Everyone who treats people well, turns out to be a success in just a matter of time. Why? Because God treats people well and He's always on the lookout for those who manifest His character. Remember, He so loved us that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die in our place for our salvation (John 3:16). He looks out for those who identify with Him in saving, blessing and loving others so He can manifest His grace and power in and through them.
Therefore, let His love flow out of you effortlessly. Be genuinely interested in people and be willing to help them. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, offer your assistance. Ask, "May I help you?" and when you're through, still ask, "Is there anything else I could do for you?" What if they don't treat you nicely in return? It doesn't matter!
The Bible says, "Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing" (1 Peter 3:9 NIV). Spread love. Spread life. Spread joy! That's what Christmas is about. Let others testify that their lives changed for the better because they met you.
🙏 PRAYER
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Dear Father, thank you for your love that's shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit and which I dispense effortlessly. 29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not [to take thy] coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask [them] not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend [to them] of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

WE'RE HEAVENLY BEINGS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven (1 Corinthians 15:47).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━
Part of what we observed from our previous study is that if you have Christ, you have eternal life, and if you don't have Christ, you don't have eternal life. It's as simple as that. Without Him, you're still living in the state of the first Adam, 100% human, earthly, and of this world. The Bible paints a clear picture of this reality in 1 Corinthians 15:47: "The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven."
The first Adam represents humanity's earthly nature, the fallen state that began with him. This nature is limited, bound by the world, and destined for destruction. That's a painful truth to acknowledge, but it's what the Bible says. Those who aren't born again are doomed to judgement and destruction. They may be your family members, friends, or leaders in society, but without Christ, they are earthy, and reserved for judgement; hence we must preach the Gospel to them as the only means of salvation.
Read 1 Corinthians 15:48 (AMPC) and see the powerful contrast between the earthy and the heavenly: "Now those who are made of the dust are like him who was first made of the dust (earthly-minded); and as is [the Man] from heaven, so also [are those] who are of heaven (heavenly-minded)." Those who are not born again (the earthy) are earthly-minded, but those who are born again in Christ are heavenly-minded. This doesn't mean we are simply thinking about going to heaven; it means that we operate with the mindset and principles of heaven here on earth.
Heavenly-mindedness means living and thinking in alignment with how things are done in heaven, following God's will, operating by His principles and thinking His thoughts. That's the transformation that takes place when you're born again. Verse 49 (AMPC) continues: "And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven." We once bore the image of the man of dust, earthly, fallen and bound to the limitations of this world. But now, as new creations, we bear the image of the Man from heaven: Jesus Christ!
We are no longer earthy but heavenly. We live in this world, but we are not of this world (John 17:16). You're a heavenly man or woman, a heavenly being, living by the thoughts, principles and ways of God's Kingdom. Hallelujah!

Dear Father, I refuse to be limited by the earthly system, for I bear the image of Christ, the Man from heaven, and I'm aligned with your will and your ways as it is in the Word. Colossians 3:1-2: If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
1 Corinthians 15:47-49 AMPC; The first man [was] from out of earth, made of dust (earthly-minded); the second Man [is] the Lord from out of heaven.
48 Now those who are made of the dust are like him who was first made of the dust (earthly-minded); and as is [the Man] from heaven, so also [are those] who are of heaven (heavenly-minded).
49. And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven.

HIS SACRIFICIAL LOVE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━
Our opening scripture brings to mind the words of the Spirit through the apostle Paul in Romans 5:8: _"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."Think about such sacrificial love. He was condemned in our place. No wonder the Bible says, _There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus..." (Romans 8:1).
The word translated "condemnation" also means "judgment"; Jesus Christ was judged for us. 2 Corinthians 5:19 (NIV) says, ...God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them..._ Did you notice that? God isn't counting men's sins against them because He laid their sins on Jesus. Jesus became the sin-bearer.
1 Peter 2:24 further makes it clearer; it says, _"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness.... It's the reason when we pray for sinners, we pray that they'll come to terms with the revelation that God has given: Christ bore their sins and they don't need to live in sin anymore. Hallelujah!
2 Corinthians 5:14 says, "For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead." This is absolutely legal and logical: He died for everybody; therefore, everybody died. Verse 15 says, _And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again." Don't live unto yourself but unto Him. This is the right response to His sacrificial love. Hallelujah!

1 John 4:9-10; In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.
2 Corinthians 5:21; For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Galatians 2:20; I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

GET BUSY FOR THE LORD
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord… (James 5:7).
This year is a very special year, and one of the things you should schedule to do every day is talk to people about Jesus; preach the Gospel with much passion. The urgency of the moment demands it. The Lord is coming soon. When we talk about the coming of the Lord, which is the second advent of the Lord, in-between is another very important event, which is the catching away of the Church; it’s called the Rapture of the Church.
The Rapture is the event described in the Bible where the dead in Christ shall rise, and we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them and taken out of this world to meet the Lord in the air. This event— the Rapture of the Church—is very near; therefore, the Bible says, “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be...” (2 Peter 3:11).
Your manner of life has to reflect and show that you’re waiting for your Lord’s return. Mark 13:35-36 says, “Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.” Don’t let Him come back and find you sleeping or doing nothing. You should be busy for the Lord.
So, today, what are you doing for the Lord? It’s a very important question to ponder. Are you busy for Him, or are you busy for yourself, your company, or your earthly family? What are you doing for the Lord? Somebody once said, “A service to man is a service to the Lord.” That's not entirely true.
The service to man that is the service to God is the service to man that God asked you to do, not just any service to man. So, live unto Him as the Bible says: “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again” (2 Corinthians 5:15). 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

FREEDOM FROM SIN
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The word confess in the verse above is translated from the Greek "Homologeo." It's a verb, which means to make declaration. But in the context of our opening verse, it means to acknowledge. If we acknowledge our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Let's also read Romans 3:24-26; it talks about God's righteousness and the forgiveness of sin: "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past...that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus." God is righteous, and in His righteousness, He puts away man's sins and justifies him.
Can you imagine that? It doesn't say God justifies the one who confesses his sins and asks for forgiveness. He's not so much after you getting forgiveness as He is after the real reason for forgiveness. Forgiveness is from the Greek word "Aphiemi" and it means freedom. The Father's focus is freedom from sin.
Already, you're the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You're the expression of His righteousness. Acts 13:38-39 tells us something remarkable; it says, "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man (Jesus) is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins. And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses." Justified means to declare not guilty, acquitted, free—freedom from sin.
When we say freedom from sin, we're not talking about freedom from the bondage of sin but freedom from sinning. Freedom from the bondage of sin refers to Satan's dominion, which has been broken. But freedom from sin means the ability and possibility to live righteously and not to do wrong. Is that possible?
Emphatically yes! It's what Jesus came to do; otherwise, it means His purpose wasn't accomplished. But thanks be unto God; He fulfilled His purpose. He was made sin so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Now sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14). We'll learn more in our next study.
