I’m looking to join a remote team as a QA! The last time I was in the job market was in the summer of 2021. Back then, the landscape was different—technologies have evolved since then and the overall vibe felt more optimistic. But despite today’s challenges, I’m genuinely excited about this next chapter.
Here’s my plan for the job search:
First, I’ll focus on companies where I already have domain knowledge—primarily no-code and low-code platforms, especially those that compete with or integrate with Adalo. I’ll also explore other companies in this space since it’s an area I’m deeply familiar with.
Beyond that, my past experience has given me expertise in VoIP telephony, intercultural communication, translation, localization, tourism, and adult learning. On the creative side, my hobbies have helped me develop a strong understanding of crafts, art, video editing, animation, and content creation.
Next, I’ll check job openings at products I use daily and companies I’ve previously bookmarked as “dream teams” to work with. I truly believe that working on a product you’re passionate about as a user with a team I admire is a huge advantage. The thing about passion though is the more I learn about almost any product, the more curious and invested I become.
I’ll also use Google keyword searches to uncover hidden job opportunities—something I wrote about a few years ago in an article on finding jobs that aren’t listed on popular boards. You will observe pick & place robots who work at different warehouses around Europe, all of that remotely.
The job can be done out of their office in Poland or remotely 10-30 hours/week. They are willing to consider students.
There is no requirement to have job authorization in EU as far I can see and the interview process is only 2 30-minute call with their hiring managers.
However the pay is very modest: ~6 USD/h with no benefits whatsoever.
I usually don’t share this kind of bare opportunities but I thought someone might find it interesting. It might be a great future-forward experience for someone who is just staring their remore career journey that they can use an asset onward to make their CV stand out.

Today is a very exciting day for the Adalo team and myself. For those who are new here, I’ve been working as a QA Analyst with Adalo for over a year now.
We released Adalo 2.0 today. It the first large product release where my contribution is publicly acknowledged as compared to when I was working for an outstaff company. It is a formality that turned out to be an important one for me.
Adalo 2.0 is a no-code builder that allows to build cross-platform apps with no-code. These apps can be published as web apps, as well as iOS or Android native apps. All with no coding needed. I’m really exciting to share this news with you here. 🚀

One of the things I’m impressed by in Georgia is how they almost tamed bureaucracy. They seem to have simplified most of standard paperwork procedures to the bare minimum of effort that you need to have things done for you.
So no wonder I was really happy to learn about Vic.ai. They are building an AI-powered product aimed at automating accounting tasks. They claim to have helped 10,000+ customers achieve nearly $188 million in cost savings and 6 million hours in time savings. They have just raised a $52 million C-round and it is areally good time to join them.
Vic.ai is jointly headquartered in New York City, Miami, and Oslo, Norway. They are a remote-first company and work across all 4 US time zones and 2 EU time zones. They have an office in Manhattan, New York, and Miami.

I recently ran into this tweet where the author was experimenting with the new GPT3 and Midjourney.
I think this is crazy cool and I was thinking of trying exactly the same when I read the news about GPT3. I think this is a brilliant idea and you can take it even further. Hook the entire thing up to a plotter or a print on demand service and you’ve got a ready made business.
Anyway, I signed up for the Midjourney account and of course the next thing I did was I checked their jobs page. Turned out they are a fully independent research lab. Yeah, a lab! That’s what they call themselves. They are self-funded, fully distribute, and hiring!
According to their LinkedIn the entirety of their team is located in the US but they make it clear in their job posting that they are hiring globally! Hurry up to apply and share these with your friends!

1) Search for the title of the job that you are looking for? E.g “designer”, odds are that the companies that had those jobs previously happen to be hiring for similar roles again.
2) Go through websites of the companies I’ve shared earlier and check if they have any open positions you are interested in.

I hear many people complain about constant changes when they are working in startups. To me I find a lot of contradiction in this. In tech industry change is the only constant, change is inherent.

I used to do testing for a VoIP platform and when I started searching for a new job, a lot of recruiters were finding me through that particular experience. I know people who only work for banking products or medical equipment manufactures.
Today’s a friend recruiter is looking to hire a Software Engineer for Infinity Telecom s.r.o with headquarters in Prague. They provide telecommunications, VoIP, SMS services, hosting, colocation to business across Europe & Latin America.

You all know Notion. They usually hire people in a specific location but this season, they’ve got a fully remote position with no particular requirement for the candidate’s location.
It is a Technical Writer position. In this role you’ll be responsible for writing documentation for new APIs, revamping existing documentation and guides, and creating new code samples.

For the past year, I’ve been struggling with understanding where I stand as a professional and where I want to head.
In my previous jobs I'd learn new things naturally by just accepting any challenges that I'd come across. That is absolutely great and a working strategy when you are just starting your career.
Now I feel like the opportunities are infinite and I'd like to do some intentional planning and studying as I'm working towards my goal of broadening my technical expertise.

It highlighted the things I've forgotten I once worked with and the things I'm kinda battling with, the things I'd like to learn some day and I think I now know what I should focus on in the near future.
They seem pretty accurate and up-to-date. There is a large community behind the project. For each item in the roadmap there is a list of recommended resources where anyone can contribute.
The tool is free, be sure to check it out. They've got roadmaps for all kinds of engineering roles as well as for QA, DevOps, UX Designers, and since most recently for Prompt Engineers. Pretty cool, huh?
Finally a video about remote jobs on my channel. I’m showing the ways I do my due diligence when considering a job at a startup.
Startups fail most of the time but there are ways to minimize the risks of joining a company that is already going under if you do a proper research and to choose a startup that will at least last for the time that you are working with them.
I’ve been working with tech startups remotely for over 6 years and have always tried to follow these simple steps when shortlisting the jobs I’d apply for.
One of the things is to make sure the startup you're joining has raised a funding round a few months prior to you joining them. This way you make sure that it is good for at least the next 2 or 3 years before you move on.

It was a surprise for me 1.5 years ago that you can build native iOS and Android apps with no code. It was even of a more surprise to learn that such apps raise funding and get acquired.

As a remote worker, I ran into a problem with consistently overworking and tending to prefer to spend additional hour at my laptop instead of going for a walk. Over a year a go I figured it was pretty consistent and I realized it is a problem. So I started looking for ways to solve it. The quality of my work was also declining because it is hard to be focused for longer than 5 hours a day.
I think I was able to figure out a way to trick my brain into doing personal projects instead of clocking an extra hour at work. So I recorded a video to I explain the idea behind my #insteadOfCommute projects that help me achieve work-life balance while working remotely full time. What I love about learning new things is having to learn to use new tools and connecting with people from the that new domain. I’ve recently discovered music licensing platforms for myself (stocks? not realy sure what the proper name for them is). I mean discovered in way that I actually figured I need to subscribe to one.
The first thing, I did wasn’t actually checking out their paylists but checking out their careers page. That particular company didn’t have fully remote positions but that gave me an idea to check their competitors’ pages. “What level of English do I need to work remotely with international companies?” This is the most frequent question I get about remote work.
I usually answer that it should be confident and it’d be good to have some prior experience communicating with foreigners. But what is considered “confident”? It doesn’t mean you should speak it perfectly well with no mistakes, mistakes are ok as long as they don’t make it hard for people to understand you.
Your speech can be very simple but it should be fluent enough for people to understand you with no extra effort your comprehension skills should be strong enough so that you could understand both what people ask of you both verbally and in writing.
There is no secret sauce to learning languages other than frequent practice but there is a way to speed it up and maximize the progress over time by either moving to an environment where where people speak this language or by at least taking lessons from a native speaker.

It’s been a hard week for many in the tech industry. News of massive layoffs affective immediate have fulled the news feeds. We kinda pivoted from the Great Resignation back in January to its Massive Layoffs sequel in a blink of an eye.
According to layoffs.fyi data 48,803 employees have been laid off by 325 startups in the past 6 months only. Uber alone has laid off 6,000 people, Getir and Booking.com 4,375 people. < that was in 2020 and thanks to one of my subscribers for pointing this out. 2022 year’s champions are Getir, Better(dot)com, Peloton 2-4K people laid off in each.
Despite the wake of layoffs, just a quick reminder that there are still many amazing jobs out there and you just need one. You will definitely find one that suits you! I have no doubt!
