Debating Bitcoin with my Father in Law
My girlfriends dad is insistent that by Bitcoin being infinitely divisible, it's no different than how they print more and more dollars. He reckons and says "what happens when Bitcoin becomes so expensive that people can't afford to buy or use it and I was wondering if that's a real possibility or not. I'd like some people to weigh in and maybe help me explain or articulate better that it's the opposite of inflation. He also is insistent that it has no use because it's not backed by anything. I tell him it's the utility behind it that gives it it's value and then he says at some point it has to collapse because it's not "real"...

So...what became of the JP Morgan post-halving dip to $40k?
As we all know, in mid April JP Morgan said the halving was priced in and that Bitcoin would dip to $40k post halving. Why do these clowns not get called out when they miss so badly? I know it was FUD, but it still rankles me.

Scalability problem is actually not a problem (imo)
One of the main arguments I always hear against bitcoin is that it cannot scale, it is slow and expensive, so X coin/currency/blockchain is better. In my opinion this scalability problem is not really a problem. Bitcoin does not need to completely replace all currencies and it does not need to handle everyday transactions all around the world (at least not on the base layer).
Sure not everybody will be able to afford using bitcoin on the base layer when fees are spiking if more people use it but at least it is a fair system and the users themselves set the fees in a free market. I see bitcoin as a way to save purchasing power and I like the comparison with gold because you cannot use gold for for everyday transactions either and it has been a store of value for a long time. Whats way more important is that Bitcoin is secure, decentralized and limited in supply which makes it the best store of value out of all assets imo. Would love to hear more opinions on this topic.

My uncle passed away and I got his compter given to me by him
Im nearly 10000% positive He had lots of bitcoin from playing mafia wars way back when they handed out bitcoin like candy on fb. I have access to his email and full access to the computer. Someone guide me where to start to find this shit. He had lots of money before he died from neuropathy he literally spent over 20k on his favorite cell phone game months b4 his passing. I know without him ever telling me he had a fat stash of coin by the way he was recklessly running through cash and always talking about how much misses the mafia wars days. Help me out!

Last night I posted about BTC in r/investing... I got flamed by hundreds of people and moderators deleted my post.
In my post, I explained how this year I transitioned from being massively skeptical of Bitcoin (and crypto generally) to being cautiously bullish. The bitcoin ETFs were a big catalyst for me, as I realise now that BTC is becoming a mainstream asset with institutional recognition.
My intention was to try and help other everyday people understand the wealth creating opportunity in front of them (without giving financial advice, and acknowledging that there are risks. I certainly wouldn't encourage anyone to go all in). If Bitcoin continues to gain institutional acceptance, it is likely to do multiples in coming years, which will change my family's life, and I'd like to see others benefit too.
I was surprised at just how much anger my post received. I tried to be balanced, and wasn't shilling any referrals or links where I personally stood to benefit.
My question for you is - have you received similarly hostile reactions from people when trying to discuss Bitcoin? Do you even bother? I would like for everyone to win, but many people obviously don't want to engage constructively...

Why do some people hate crypto?
Everytime I mentioned Bitcoin or any crypto on Instagram, Threads or Twitter, I had people right away unfollow. Like 5 at a time.
Do people have some hate of Bitcoin or crypto? Is it because there are scammers? I was just stating that I noticed Bitcoin go up in value in the last half year.
Why would that provoke an unfollowing instead of curiosity?
