Tips on ranch layouts?

Hello! I'm starting a new save as my last one was sadly deleted due to my PlayStation hating me, and even though I had progressed pretty far, I wasn't ever very strategic with the layout of my ranch, I just put things wherever. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for where to lay things out the best way. Thank you!

My puddle slimes keep disappearing, what's happening?

I've played this game plenty of times before and this has never happened to me. I had four puddles in a pond, the amount I normally have, and two disappeared. I assumed I accidentally knocked them out of the pond while collecting plorts without noticing, and after grieving the little guys I got another one. I haven't gone near them since. When I opened my game today I saw I only had one in the pond. What's going on? Is my game bugged? Was this an update? I've never had puddle slimes disappear from a pond before.

Should I get slime rancher 1 or 2?

Hello 👋
I tried the original slime rancher in the ps5 and I loved but my ps plus subscription ran out. I wanted to buy either of the two games but I'm not sure if slime rancher 2 is the same as the original but better or it focuses in something completely different.

I would like to hear your opinions:)

(I know the game is in early access but content wise right now idk what should I get)

I got Slimerancher 1, should I get #2?

So it was on sale for very cheap compared to normal price. I remember watching my brother play it a while back and it looked very fun so I instantly got it. It's extremely fun. Should I get Slimerancher 2? Like, is it worth it? I'm thinking I'll eventually get it but should I get it soon, or does it not really matter?

One if the saddest back stories in video games, or even in the top 10 must be Gigi's. 🆂🅿🅾🅸🅻🅴🆁 -> She locked herself in the Grey Labyrinth to stop the Prismacore's effects from spreading to the Far, Far range. Reading her nodes from the labyrinth actually made me cry. She didn't get to meet her grandmother. One of her earliest memories is hiding under the dining table while her mother vacuumed. She says that once she found her, her mother told her that her grandmother didn't get the chance to meet her. She doesn't remember after that. I heard many backstories, but this is among the only who made me cry for some reason... I can't wait to see in the next update what we'll do to stop the prismacore

Resource extraction broken?

One of the things I've noticed over time in this Early Access is that resource gattering has become very tedious, repetitive, and even annoying for many throughout the game

This is understandable for many, as all they've done since the game's release is add more resource zones, more resource-gathering mechanics, and tons of recipes that require those resources. I think it's an aspect that's poorly balanced because throughout the adventure, you gain better ways to move and store resources, but never enough to harvest resources beyond the two slots and the extra tank capacity

I think there should be another upgrade for the Resource Harvester, the upgrade that allows you to obtain more resources in general, and also one for Shadow Plorts (because, like it or not, they're a resource you have to farm)

 Electric slime :D!

Slimeology:
The electric slime is a rare species that can only be found in the electric mountains when lightning strikes.

There is speculation that a lightning with a high amount of electricity once striked a copper slime that turned him into pure electricity what gave him his name.

Rancher risks:
You will get electrocuted if you touch them. And they disappear into your cables and overcharged your lightbulbs if they are not in a Tesla coil cage.

Plortonomics:
Electric plorts are highly prized because of their high energy and many uses! They are used to make batteries, tasers and are used in the industry for giant machines and energy plants .
You can use the plorts to build machines, energypads, energy upgrades and vac upgrades like the vac upgrade „stun shoot“ with which you can stun slimes with 10 energypoints for a few seconds if you hit them with a energy ball!


Thanks to Casey on the sr discord server for the idea „only appear when lightning“


(Like with the magnet and copper slime, I will try to extend the slimepedia of the electric slime if I get any ideas)

Am I the only one who struggles to find some resources in SR2?

I find it really annoying to find resources, especially for upgrades, I can barely find wild honey. And I have like little to no upgrades at the moment of posting. I'm at the point of where I'm at the labyrinth.

Beetle slime

Diet: veggies. Fav food: horn corn.

Slimeology: the beetle slimes love fighting each other, ramming their horns into anything they can see to get stronger. They are usually found around rainy forests, ramming their horns into trees and other slimes. Some would assume they are hunters due to their aggression, but they’re actually herbivores, and would much rather snack on some carrots. Lovely bunch, as long as they don’t try to push you.

Rancher risks: as previously stated, the beetle slimes love running into things, from trees to ranchers. Beware when handling them, they are only recommended to more experienced ranchers.

Stony Hen Hen VS normal Hen Hen laying rates for SR1

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how the egg laying rates between Stony's and Hen Hen's work/how to speed them up?

I want more Stony Hens, but they seem to be producing at a much lower rate compared to my Hen Hens. Both coops have both the spring grass and vitamizer upgrades, and they're both in the same area, but it seems like the Hen Hens end up getting twin eggs more often than the Stony's, who seem to be laying 1-3 eggs each time there's a breeding/egg laying check.

Both pens have 9 chickens (8 Hens, 1 Roo) and the Grass and Vitamizer upgrade.

Anything helps as id like to be able to give my Tabby's more of their favourite food, thank you!!

Every time I try to open the game this pops up and the game never loads. does anyone know what to do?

I've already tried re downloading, restarting my computer, clearing my cache, and opening it in saf mode on steam. It was working perfectly fine yesterday.

Slime Rancher 2 Music

Okay I do want to preface this saying I LOVE SR2’s music and think the Monomi team did excellent!

That being said, I feel it’s a bit… samey?? What I mean is that the main area tracks mainly feature pianos and violins, and while those are a staple of the SR games, the first game had more variety in main instruments for the area songs. Despite not being an area, I mainly want to point out the Tarr theme.

In SR1 it heavily features a guitar and xylophone (if I’m hearing correctly) to give a bit more edge to the dangerous specimens. However in SR2, it’s again pianos and violins, and while the tone is definitely shifted to a suitable one, I feel it loses the edge it had in SR1 with the main instrument being used in *all* the areas. I even listened to some of the tracks again and I do notice a difference to SR1’s themes compared to SR2’s

I want to end by again saying I don’t think SR2’s music is bad in any way and I think they’re great tracks, I just prefer SR1’s variety and wanting to know if other people have noticed this or if I’m alone on this

 I have a hoarding problem…

I’ve finished the story, my Newbucks is loaded in the millions, and all I have left is to finish some mini games, explore for the last few treasures, and try out some more slime largos.

I took a long break from the game…when I got back, I found the second vault, found my 3rd Gilded Ginger (needed to release a Golden Gordo that I surrounded with toys and carrots…this is a different post for later), and I worked on turning Humphries lab into a “Fire Fly” experiment site, to see some new largo combos.

My main concern is…I have a problem with FILLING my corrals with Largos!!!! (This shady camera angle is all I got to show as an example atm. But it’s a lot worse than this. 😂)

I’ve been managing it just fine, (with all my drones and gardens and silos), but having so many slimes contained in EACH corral like this is INSANE.

I need to take a step back and thin out my slimes from my ranch, because it puts me on edge when I’m away for longer than 24 “hours” at a time. I’m always rushing around the map. (I have portals stationed for easy teleport though).

So my main question is what’s a happy medium of largos to keep in my corrals???? They’re all over crowded, and this means the food dispenser needs to be kept on high or medium most of the time. (I have drones dropping in extra food into the corrals, incase they get hungry when the dispenser isn’t enough.)

 Copper slime :D!

Slimeology:
The Copper-Slime is found in the electric mountains and loves to consume every kind electricity why he loves to eat the shocklemon and pulls every little lightning in his direction.

He probably was just like the magnet slime once a normal rock slime that found it’s way into the electric mountains where he was surround by copper an electric crystals what made him more copper than rock and now he attracts lightnings like a lightning conductor what brought him his name.

Rancher risks:
Don’t put them near electric slimes or they will consume them! And better don’t fuse them with a magnet slime or they will become a walking energycore/generator!

Plortonomics:
Copper plorts are highly priced for being so got at conducting high amounts of electricity and many other uses! They are used to make cables, statues, heaters and coins. You can use the plorts to build machines, electricity robust armor and vac upgrades like the vac upgrade „vac pack omega“ which makes the range of the vac pack twice as big.

their wings are flapping a lot, trying to escape, yet they fail and can't move, basically just go over to that area of the ranch and shoot chickens there, that's how you get them stuck and i've used it to store them
